Congratulations on the hospital free time!
I agree with you about the Dr.'s. It depends on how much you trust your Dr. I had a friend who's son was sick for weeks. Lot of the same symptoms you had. Each time he went back to the Dr., they diagnosed with something else. After weeks, he had a seizure and was taken to the ER. The finally diagnosed him with pneumonia and gave him the proper medication and he finally got well. We are supposed to be able to trust our dr.'s to make us well and diagnose us properly so we dont fall more ill. Maybe you need to find a new dr. or be more assertive with the one(s) you have.

No nausea, Have had some sweat and chills indication a possible fever. Most discomfort from the coughing
This is worse at night. I have to prop myself up on
pillows. I do not have anything going on in my chest. There is a wheeze but it is coming more from
my throat. I will be returning to the ear, nose, and
throat doctor in 3 weeks. The antibiotic is one of
the ones that are pretty fast acting. You start with
two pill and follow the next four days with one per day. It should knock it out...unless I have built up
an immunity to it from all the medical things that
I went through over the past three years. Today marked a milestone. I have been without a hospital
stay or trip to the emergency room for a year today.
I feel like celebrating.

asthma is pretty easy to diagnose, if they give you pulmany function test. either you have an asthma attack and you have asthma, or you don't have an asthma attack and you don't have asthma.
are you feverish? nauseus?
I would let the medicine run it's course, and after a week to ten days, I would get a second opinion.

Just wondering. When do we know if the dr is right.
I have had two visits this week with different doctors each time. One says my upper resp. problem is allergies...the other says bronchitis. It has me thinking. At what point to we consider the doctor to
be making the right diagnosis. Should we always think twice. The first time I was told I had asthma, I had been to about 6 or 7 visits for bronchitis. It was one of the same dr.'s that said
asthma. This was after weeks of sleeping in a sitting position and being totally miserable not to mention sore from all the coughing. I cna only say that the doctors are good to a point...but do not be
putting them in the position of God. we have to
look at what is going on and be aware for these professionals to be effective in their diagnosis and treatment. I have worried all week about giving this to someone else in the family
