Do you have any family that could watch them in your home? That would free you up dropping and picking them up and tell hubby to shape up and show him what you want done and how you want it done! You both work so you both should help with the kids. Maybe try and get your workouts in on the weekends...make it a family thing..a walk in the park? I hope this helps! I changed my hours from 7-3:30 too. I feel this way I have time in the morning by myself and get home earlier and have more time to spend with Nicholas before he goes to bed. The night seems a little longer on this schedule.

I really feel for you. I feel like I never have a free moment. I also do the daycare drop-off/pick-up and work a fulltime job. You MUST get your husband to step it up. It sounds like you are doing it all, and you're going to crash.

Luckily I am a stay at home mom with my 9 month old son jayden . My husband usually leaves around 6:35 in the morning since he works about 10 min away from home. I am lucky to be able to stay at home but it is rough sitting at home b/c of weight issues. I have gained more than i wanted to and I am hoping by being on this site i will be able to.

Changing my work schedule worked for me. I now leave for work by 6:00 a.m. before anyone else is up. Therefore, my husband has morning duty (although I still pack lunches before I leave!). The additional benefit is that I get to get showered and dressed all by myself! And I'm home by 3:30 most days, so there is more time at the end of the day to get stuff done.

I think it is really important to get everyone in the family on board with helping out, husband and children included. You need to have a family meeting and talk about the workload in the home. Everyone lives there and everyone needs to help keep it running smoothly. You cannot possibly do everything without completely burning out. Make a chore chart and/or schedule. If you post an morning and evening schedule then everyone can see at a glance what needs to be done and when each day to be sure everyone gets off on time and gets to bed on time with everything done. Even young children can do chores and help out around the house. It is important to train them to do so from the start, then when they are older they realize that this is just part of living in a family, we all help out. If your husband has a hard time seeing what you are doing then I would make out a list of all the things you do on a daily basis and all the thing he does so he can see it in black and white. It makes it harder for him to ignore if it's right there in front of him.

Hi, everyone! OK - I know I'm not alone here. In fact, I feel "guilty" even complaining. I know so many of us are in the same boat...
I have so many things to be thankful for... a great family, wonderful kids, a good steady job, friends, my health. Yet, I'm stressed beyond belief! I have had a headache for two weeks that will not go away, I'm tired, my mind is "hazy", and I'm easily angered or upset.
So, here's the thing... I get up early (about 5:45) so I can get ready before my 2 year old wakes up at 6 (on his own). I get my 2 kids ready for the day, my hubbie wakes up around 7 and helps with the tail end of things. I rush out at 7:10 - bring kids to daycare/school. I work until 4:30, then reverse - pick kids up, get them home by 5:20 or so. Cook, eat, clean up.... homework, bath, chores, chore chart, ready for bed, brush teeth, read books, bed (finally!). I either run around for another hour or so or collapse.
My husband "tries" to help, but doesn't much. If he does help, he "messes it up" (I think on purpose). For example, the kids are to bed past their bed time, dishes pile up for two days, etc. Anyhow, I'm overwhelmed and over worked. I feel that my hubbie gets to spend a few hours each day at home on his own, goes fishing on the weekends, etc. I'm catching up on chores on the weekend. I've talked to him about this, but he says it's the "extra things" I do (PTO meetings once a month, my state professoinal organization 4 times a year).
I haven't been working out regularly because I feel I "need" my sleep. I know I'm not being the best mom I can be and, in fact, I feel relieved when the kids get to bed. I want to enjoy time with them without feeling tired and crabby. I don't want to enjoy them in bed!! The whole thing makes me sad.
