Alot of "bad" things can be substituted out to make any recipie healthy(or at least healthier). I was watching Good Eats on Food Network, and last night they were talking about using honey instead of sugar, and that you can sub it in but have to take into consideration the water content, so just adjust liquid ingredients.
Though alot of what I've read says the butter is actually better for you than the margarine, I use more olive oil. Eggs, when eaten in moderation are also not bad, and packed with protein(I pop hard boiled eggs in my lunch for a snack)The big thing with the ham is the sodium, I usually sub Chicken ground turkey, or roast beef if I can.
It's all about moderation.

Great point to take a careful look at the recipe. However, keep in mind, that high carbs aren't necessarily a bad thing. In fact, a good balanced diet will consist of 50%+ carbs. Just try to make most of them complex carbs like Whole Wheat Bread, Whole Wheat Pasta, Brown Rice, etc..

Hi Guys

Was just wondering through some of the recipies that I see people posting. Be careful of some of them. Some have pretty high carbs, butter etc.

Just because a recipie is posted on the site doesn't necessarily mean it is as healthy as it could be.

Here is an example

8 large eggs
15 oz frozen shredded potatos
1.5 cup fresh mushroom-sliced
1.5 cup fresh tomatos-chopped
1 cup green onion-chopped
9 slices cooked ham lunchmeat -cut into one inch squares
6 slices 2% american cheese singles
1 tsp butter or margarine

Just a heads up. Eggs, Cheese, ham, butter, potatoes!!

It sounds tasty, but too much of a good thing might be unhelpful
