Hey there Rob,

I have had a similar life style. After 5 kids and 3 grand kids I have decided to try and loose a few pounds (100+) and enjoy life with them. I love to eat and even have been in a few compitions to see who could eat the most. Even one a few and was proud of it.

Now that I have decided to change my life style, I went to my doctor and he made a few reccomendations:

Eat small meals
Eat at least 5 times per day
Drink zero calories beverages
Exercise 3 times per week

I have started this rutine and joined SP as a way to track my calories and goals. I am know using most of the programs available and have found it very helpful. I have lost 40 pounds in the past 8 weeks and feel great.

Hi Rob,

Welcome to SparkPeople! It sounds like you're ready to make a big change in your life, congratulations. I remember when (at 265 lbs) I decided to take the same step. I found my motivation in my wife. It sounds like you have a great family, use them as your motivation. You'd be amazed at how much you can do when you start thinking about your wife and children. Let me know if I can help with anything along the way. All the guys around here are very supportive and will help in any way possible.

My names rob and im a eataholic. (aka fat bastad) :)

Im a 33yr old Aussie living in Denmark with a danish wife. We have 3 kids and a 4th on the way.

Looking through the family albums has been an eye opener in regards to my issues with weight. Im not in too many of the pictures. hehe

Im a straight up fella. Im by no means shy when it comes to meeting new people. Im up beat and speak my mind. Humor is my weapon against my weight. They look, i help them laugh.

I really do want to get my act together. I have been talking about it for years, however im yet to accomplish anything.

Last year i was 111kg. This year 114kg. Where am i next year??

Im a professional person that works shift work. Days, evening and nights. It varies from week to week.

On top of that, im an addicted online gamer. If im not doing anything in the real world, im in my virtual one. Bloody WOW. :)

I have support from friends but never take it seriously. I want to lose wait but have no idea how.

So i guess im looking for advice and feedback.

What to eat when and when to eat it.

Today i decided it all has to change. When the wife gets home i plan on emptying the cupboards and fridge.
All that isnt healthy i plan on throwing out. Including the coffee and white sugar.

I like the theory "if it isnt in the house, it isnt tempting).

Also i rarely drink water. 8 cups a day the program on this site says, 8 days it will get. My first goal 100kg. Hope some of you would like to join me on this adventure to "the skinnier side of life" ;)
