Well just got back from SF and my visit to ATT Park was a good one. Went to the Giants v. Reds game. The stadium was very nice and there wasnt a bad seat in the house. Didnt get to see Bonds play but was a very nice stadium, one i would tell everyone to visit. Oakland on the other hand neads a new stadium bad. Very cold feel to the stadium and the fans were as quiet as any i have ever seen.
Chalk me up for 2 more: ATT in SF and Mcafee in Oak

The oldest boy and I take a baseball trip each summer, catch a game or two each trip in different parks.. so far been to games...

Cleveland(jake and municiple, years ago), Toronto, Yankee, Camden, as well as minor league games in Rochester (two stadiums), Oneonta, Williamsport, Erie, Norfolk, and the little league World Series, which I recommend to anyone who hasn't been... Next season's plan is a trip to Fenway and possibly another NY/Penn league stop..

Although I have been to the 8 parks I mentioned, one thing I would really like to do is to take in an away game with my Cubs - maybe even a whole series - in a place like St. Louis when both teams are fighting it out for a playoff spot. That would be high drama indeed.

Wearing the Cub blue in a sea of Cardinal Red might be a be dangerous though - LOL!

I have the same goal at some point. So far I've only hit.

ATT Park, San Francisco (And the old park, Candlestick)
McAfee Coliseum, Oakland
Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles
The Big A, Anaheim
Wrigley, Chicago.
Fenway, Boston

As for the Parks in SF and Oakland, the best way to get to both of them starts with the local underground, BART. Assuming your coming from the SF airport just hop on the BART Blue Line towards downtown SF (There's only one option from there.). Then, to get to ATT Park, at Embarcadero Station transfer onto Muni. The Muni N and T lines go straight to the park. To get to McAfee just stay on the BART Blue Line (Or hop on the Green Line) and it'll take you right to the Coliseum. The stop you want is "Coliseum/Oakland Airport."

Have fun. ATT Park is incredible. And I know it's semi-blasphemous on SP but try the Cha Cha Bowl or the Sheboygan (Sp?) Brat at ATT Park.

You have this year and next to see both Yankee Stadium and Shea as they are being replaced for the 2009 season.

RFK will be replaced in 2008 and I think that is all of the parks having their replacements being built as of right now.

I would try to get to Yankee Stadium this year becasue I think this will be the last year they will play in it.

I was hoping to work in RFK this season as well. The Cubs were there July 4th and there were great seats available, with a bonus of getting to see the fireworks over the Potomac. New York and Boston are expensive, so it looks like we will not get the RFK.

my current list of major league parks includes:

shea
yankee stadium
mcafee/oakland coliseum
at&t/pac bell
fenway
the vet (rest in pieces, you old toilet bowl)
minute maid/enron
safeco
kingdome
busch (old)

one of my aunt and uncle's old teaching buddies is organizing "stadium club" trips where they are trying to get to all the parks. i will hopefully be joining them on their next outing. for now, my goal is to get to philly and possibly RFK before the end of the season.

I remember that game! As a Cubs fan, it still is one of my favorite Sox moments.

We just got back from Fenway and it is an incredible place to see a game. The crowd was electric and even though our seats were half-way up the grandstand, I still was so close I felt like I was almost on the field. We will go on a tour tomorrow or Saturday, but the game was awesome.

Ball games are a ton of fun. I have always preffered to sit in the outfield seats. When we purchased our cubs tickets the OF seats were quite expensive, but the history and taking in a game with the bleacher bums was too good to pass up. Ive been to old Comisky but i gotta say i wasnt to impressed. I also caught a game at the astrodome before it was wrecked. Of all the games ive seen in person my top game was a Texas Rangers game. Nolan Ryan on the mound and Robin Venture at bat. Ventura charges Ryan and gets the beat down of his life, ahh what a game.

I have been to -

Wrigley Field

Jacobs Field

Comerica Park

Yankee Stadium

Shea Stadium

Comiskey Park (old and new)

Miller Park

Milwaukee County Stadium (Brewers' old park)

Tiger Stadium

On to Fenway tomorrow.

We even visited the site of Cleveland's of League Park which had been the site of Babe Ruth's 500 home run (he was the first to hit 500), Joe DiMaggio's 56th straight game with a hit (it was broken the next day in old Cleveland Municipal Stadium), and Cy Young pitched the first game there for the Cleveland Spiders as the Cleveand AL team was known back then.

They are all great parks in their own way, but I would have to rank the older parks as better for history, but the newer parks are obviously better when it comes to their amenities. Which is more important to you is for you to decide, but I like the history myself. Wrigley and Yankee Stadium are similar in quality of amenities, but Yankee Stadium has more seats and wider concourses. Wrigley is much more intimate.

Tiger Stadium was a cobbled together mess of a cramped field, but it was so cool to see. Shea and Milwaukee County Stadium were not terribly impressive in terms of amenities or history, but they were still good to see.

You know the saying, "A bad day at the ballpark is better than a good day at work." It is true. You just can't go wrong sitting at a game with your son, showing him the game your love and passing along stories, showing him how to keep score and all the fun things that you did with your dad - or wish you had a chance to do as in my case.

Unfortunately I have never been to a major league park. I always have the intentions to go and then something comes up. The past 2 years I have tried to get over to Seattle to catch a game or two, but the stars have been aligned against me.

Maybe next year. (I want to go when the White Sox visit and the next time they are in Seattle I am out of state.)

We have all ready made plans to go to NY next year to see the teams before they move into their new stadiums. How close is Boston to NY? Id love to catch a game atop the big green monster.

Baltimore's New Camden Yard is another stadium i would love to see. I wish i lived closer to the east coast because there are so many teams there.

How would you rank the stadiums you have been to? The overall expierence you had.

Wrigley-A History and tradition, sat with the bleacher bums.

Kauffman-B Was a very nice stadium and cheap tickets, but the stadium is to far away from downtown

Stadium in Arlington-B Nice stadium but if you sit in the OF you cant see the score board. LF Homerun porch is covered and thats nice for day games

Lots of people are doing this. My 10 year old son and I started our annual "Baseball Road Trip" last year with visits to Detroit and Cleveland.

We live in Chicago and have been to Wrigley many times. It is a beautiful baseball temple. My favorite.

In fact, we are on our second annual trip right now. I am typing this from Manhattan and we just got back from Yankee Stadium less than an hour ago. We were at Shea on Sunday and are off to Fenway tomorrow for Thursday's game against the Orioles.

We went to Miller Park in Milwaukee two weeks ago.

I highly recommend that you get to NYC this year or next year since 2008 will be the last year for both Yankee Stadium and Shea.

FENWAY Baby! Most ellusive ticket (and expensive) in the game, but if you can catch a Sox game at Fenway, then you (like wrigley) are experiencing a part of baseball history. There is really nothing like it... I've also been to Veteran's (now gone) Shea and Yankee Stadium.

I started a quest to catch a game in every MLB ballpark. This quest Began one year ago and i have been to 3 ballparks since that time. The first was Wrigley Field-had to go to my favorite teams field first, Then stopped of at Ballpark at Arlington-live in oklahoma so it was easy, then i caught a game at Kauffman in KC. In Sept im going to ATT ballpark in SF and Mcafee Collisuem in Oakland. If anyone knows the area tell me the easiest way via public transport. Anyone else been to any ballparks?
