Welcome, Mike.
125lbs may seem like a lot to lose, but if you gained it...you can lose it.
Losing 1lb a week will have you down to 275 in a year. Losing 2lbs per week will have you down to 225 in a year.
Set some monthly goals for yourself: scale weight if that motivates you, and other milestones (improved eating habits, walking a mile in x minutes, running a mile in x minutes...)
Heck, you've done bodybuilding before, so this will probably be like riding a bicycle.
Good luck!
-Ken

| You fit here dude. There's no set reason all of us are here. The only thing that matters is you want to get healthy and you'll find people ready to back you up.

Let me explain if you will. I was misdiagnosed 2.5 years ago by a quack cardiologist with all kinds of heart problems. He then put me on all kinds of downers supposedly to keep me alive. I became for the most part a zombie and just sat there depressed and eating. I was at 200 pounds from years of bodybuilding and power lifting so I gained 125 pounds on top of that. Two months ago my wife realized that I was going to be dead very soon if I didn't get moving so we went to another cardiologist who could find nothing wrong with my heart. Now both of my new doctors want me to get the weight off as soon as possible before it does do damage. So I am dropping the weight very fast but my problem is I have all the same fears and need to talk to other people with my same problem(obesity)but none of the other sites have any men my age so I thought I could post here and have fun with you guys. As far as help I actually know a lot about bodybuilding and nutrition so maybe I could help in that area.
So can I sneak in under the radar?
