walk around with a half full plate, i used to do that with beer at fights because i didnt want to drink, but it looked like i was. dont get me wrong its not a peer pressure thing or drinking to be cool, my friends would see me without a beer and buy me one, good friends. haha

Had a family barbecue today. Burgers, hotdogs, chips, dips, beer, cupcakes, pie, brownies, fudge, soda...
I had a hamburger with no cheese, a hot dog, a bunch of the veggies from the veggie dip tray, and water.
No caving, and within my totals on everything today.

I stopped drinking a while back, and people didn't understand that either. "Hey you can have just one man". I found that I would show up late and then leave early to minimize my time there. ALSO what really helps.....make a plate of food and always have it with you. If they see you with a plate of food they won't need to offer you more. You don't have to eat it, just carry it around.

1. Eat slower and move around a lot at the cookout to give the illusion that you've been going up for seconds/thirds
2. put your own portions on the plate. If anyone gives any grief just say you're saving room for dessert.
3. Look for the right choices there, if someone brings salad have some of that to help keep the plate looking full.
4. They can't force you to eat.

I'm getting back on track but it's bad timing for me. I've got a big family cookout that I can't miss. My family don't understand "I don't want any, I'm full". Give me strength. Any suggestions?
