Make each surprise a somewhat subtle clue as to what #10 is, or be something that ties into it at least so the first 9 days of stuff can be used on day 10...

I love Russ' idea. I think i am going to do 10 days of cards. One for each day prior and on day 10 it will be the trip to the guest ranch for a weekend away. I think he will love it. He will get a surprise for every year we been married. Now just to come up with 10 little surprises lol.

Niteman- I live in Alberta, Canada. I found a mountain guest ranch that is about 4 hrs from where we live that offers fully contained cabins. Very reasonable rates and they offer all kinds of things to do like fishing, canoeing, horseback riding (bonus), white water rafting trips. I'm thinking he will love this. He's pretty laid back so im sure he will. The best part about it will be no distractions ... no kids, no phone, no t.v ... peace and quiet!

Thank you guys so much for all your help. If any of you have some suggestions for my 10 surprises please feel free to post.

Although not quite as remote as you suggest, I remember a lodge on the Skyline Drive in Virginia that I've sworn we'll get back to one day. You can get a more luxurious room in the main lodge or more rustic accommodations in little outlying cabins. There is hiking and horseback riding in the surrounding mountains and it would hit the mark in your mental picture as I saw it. Skyland, I think? I'll go see if I can find it, but there are probably quite a few more similar such places all over the world that should be easier to find now that everybody has a web site.

PS
Here's the URL I found. There is also a pretty cool place further south on the Blue Ridge Parkway called Pisgah Lodge that you may be able to find with a Google. You don't say where you're at, but I'm betting there are places like this all over the world:

OK, Here's something that my wife did for Christmas that I still think is pretty cool: Go out and set up 12 dates. They can be anything from coffee at your favorite coffee house, to a sit down restaurant, to a Borders card. Just pick 12 things that you and he like doing, get the gift card and seal it in a blank envelope. He can open one at a time and whatever he opens, you to get to do. It's random and it'll keep him guessing from month to month.

Congrats and have fun.

That sounds like a great idea. Not sappy at all. Since he loves horses so much, maybe go to a cabin where you can go horseback riding in the wilderness. I know that I would enjoy that a lot and I'm not even into horses like him. He should love it.

Have fun!

wow, thanks for the ideas, those are awesome. My husband is a very simple man. He is a country boy who's interests revolve around his horses. He's not a big sports fan (weird huh lol). I am a romantic at heart and want this to be memorable for both of us, but especially him. I was thinking about maybe a romantic getaway to a cabin of some sort. Somewhere there is no phones, no tv, that sort of thing. Some place where we can connect again and get away from everyday life. Is that too sappy? Would you guys be bored out of your skull if your wife planned something like that for you? This would be so much easier if he was a sports fan or had some other interests besides his horses. Maybe i should look into something new for both of us to try. I just dont know, this is harder then i thought it might be. Maybe we will just go away and have sex all weekend like niteman suggested lol. Hes bound to LOVE that hahhahha.

Sex! Nah, betcha already thought of that...uh, Corvette? Nah, a little pricey. Okay, I'll try for serious. Does it have to be a surprise up till the last minute? If not, get him to take off work for a surprise romantic and fun weekend getaway and then tailor it to his tastes. Say the Football or Baseball Hall of fame or any other sports attraction? The arts? Museums, plays, concerts, rare books, a print or painting, rock & roll hall of fame? Other guys have already suggested electronics. For me it would be anything Nikon or a photo safari. Race car driver school? Vegas or Atlantic City? A scuba diving weekend? Sports equipment like new golf clubs, fishing gear, or skis? Tools, telescopes, binoculars, video cameras, expensive watch.... nothing outstandingly unique, but lots of stuff that might be really desirable, depending on what he likes and what your budget is. Good luck and congrats on the milestone!

Is there anything that he's really into(sports team, band, outdoor activity) that you could get tickets too? For me, tickets to a Packers-vs-Vikings/Bears game would be the best "I love you forever" gift I could get, next to the ability to go with my team to the Chicago Open or Counsel Bluffs Iowa PSP paintball tourney!
Maybe a fishing trip to Canada? Kinda depends on his likes.

Plasma TV.

Congrats on reaching 10 years. I am up to 4 and counting. I know for me all I really want is to spend time with my wife. Mostly I am worried that I will do things wrong since women generally are harder to please on milestones like that. So really a toy that he is wanting (like I would want a new laptop right now) isn't a bad way to go. The other big present is to appreciate whatever he goes through to try to make the 10 year anniversary special for you.

Good luck with that.

Hello guys. Sorry to invade on your mens lounge, but i need some suggestions. My husband and i been married almost 10yrs. I would like to do something really awesome for him for our 10yr anniversary in September. If i start planning now i might actually have it together by then. He is the most amazing, supportive husband. He stands by me in everything i do and i want to show him how thankful i am for coming into my life and showing me what love really is. He is not the ultimate romantic type so i need some ideas on what i could do for him. Any suggestions men? What would you like from your wife or what is a great idea? All suggestions welcome and appreciated.
