While running the risk of sounding like the mutual admiration society, I've got to say DOUGHBOY4 is right on here!

One more thing that is real obvious, but I feel I forgot to say it. You can't have a good relationship with someone if you can't be friends too. And you should always treat friends with respect and the way you would want to be treated. If you really like this person you should still enjoy being friends.

Kardinal,

Very good advice from everyone here, and MACMAN sums it up. You are the magic cure not surgery. The weight could be one thing but it may not be everything.

No one really knows but, I think some women like men who are confident, fun and giving and aren't too hung up on themselves or too pushy.

Theres' nothing wrong with lady friends. That's a REAL good thing! Someday ask 'em for some advise. They'll tell you what's up cause your friends,

Stay cool and focused!

Kardinal,

One of my favorite quotes (and I'll admit I have hundreds of "favorite quotes") is from Nancy Dornan: "The greatest distance between two points is a short-cut." I say that here to encourage you not to short-cut your health and happiness.

All the tools you'll need to make the changes you want to your health and fitness are available for you free right here on SP. The only requirement that you need to provide is effort and consistency. You're man enough to do that! We're all on this journey together, while each at different points on the journey, we band together and pull each other through. So let us help you.

Here's one closing thought. Why not stay "friends" with all those girls. That way as you become more and more healthy, they'll either be the first in line or they'll know what they missed out on. Just a thought.

I thought about surgury 2 years ago (Lypo). I was looking for the quick fix. Even met with a doctor and signed up for the surgury. then the doctor fell ill and had to close his practice. All I can say is "thankfully, I didn't have the surgury".

A few months after the surgury was cancelled I found sparkpeople. This was truly a life changing event. Started using it and discovered how to eat and live healthy. Now I've lost 5 times the wieight I would have lost in the surgury and I'm keeping it off. I now know how to live healthy and keep myself at the healthiest weight.

Give SP the chance to work for you. Stay with it consistantly and in due time you will be where you want to be (weight wise) and those women will be falling all over you.

Hell, that's currently one of my problems. I'm in a strong committed relationship for the past 7 years, and now I'm getting hit on regularly. Great for the ego, but lousy when my partner sees this happening. I once got a phone number handed to me out of the blue while I was talking at a local bar with my partner. I handed my partner the number immediately and chuckled.

"1. How important do you guys think females place on appearance?"

While they don't place as much on looks/appearance as men do, they still do place some value on it.

"2. Besides surgery what is the fastest most productive long lasting way tolose wieght?"

These kind of contradict each other...Fast and Long Lasting. You didn't put the weight on over night, in a week, or even a month or two. Like all of us, you probably put the weight on over several years. To lose the weight properly, healthy, and make it long lasting, you shouldn't lose more than 1-2 pounds a week. SparkPeople will help you accopmlish this. Take your time and do it the right way and you will be very happu with your accomplishments.

I had been dating (only 4 dates and not serious or anything yet), when the girl I was dating used the "lets be friends" let down. I have gotten this reply so many times now that I have lost count. I am really tired of lets be friends, nope no thanks I have my good friends already. I think that it has a lot to do with appreance and our society of looks matter more then anything else. So that leads me to two questions and one statement.

1. How important do you guys think females place on appearance?
2. Besides surgery what is the fastest most productive long lasting way to lose wieght?

Statement time, I guess I am going to keep trying to live healthy, lose wieght and keep looking. Thanks all.

Jeff
