Since I'm starting to get into golf, a CHEAP set of golf clubs (starter set...from a garage sale would be OK) and maybe some lessons. I don't plan on turning into a golf fiend, just to play with the guys at work in the annual tourney. Maybe the guys at the firehouse too. Anyhoo....in lieu of that, How about a mechanics tool set. I like to tinker with the car, and my set sucks. (I inherited it...its from the 50's....not too relavant any more.)

A set of non clone Callways and some lessons. A better gaming computer for my business. Somehow, there's never enough money to pull that off.

My lady has been getting everything she wants for 23 years.

The two kids get a lot of the stuff they ask for if they do their chores and are good and considerate to others since they were born. (they are now 18 and 19)

I have been putting the stuff I want on hold for them so:

I want a real pick-up one I can drive (not the model of one they got me last year)

I want a low rider Harley (again enough with the models)

I want an Archery set with lessons.

Their I said it if that makes me selfish or greedy O-WELL

And the damn kitchen remodel can wait!!

I never know what to tell the wife & kids... Anything that I really want, I just go & get it. (unless it's really expensive - over $500)
(Same deal for the wife - I don't question her purchases. Good thing we both tend to be cheapskates and don't spend a lot.)
SOOO...the only things that I want but don't already have are costly.
Already have: HD big screen, 20gig MP3, digital camera, all the clothes I can fit in the closet (over 100 shirts of various styles!), GPS for the car, golf clubs, etc.
Wants: Infinti M35 ($42k, yikes), kitchen remodeling (ok, for her too...$50k, yikes), a son who can stay out of trouble long enough to graduate & move out (Priceless!), maybe a Harley ($12k, yikes). The power tools would be a waste, I'm not a handy kind of guy. (Know your limitations.)

Poker_fiend is on to something. Guys like useful gadgets and gear. And yes, grilling stuff is always good, as long as he'll use it.

And who said gurls weren't allowed? All we ask is if you come in here that you're not easily offended. That seems fair right?

Ahhh . . . Flash, unfortunately mine isn't that gung-ho on working out. He is a member of my gym but he's never been, and he has a workout facility at his work that he doesn't use. I wish he cared more but he maintains that after he graduates he's going to start working out (he'll earn his MBA in May).

Sincere, he has a projection system thingie with a huge screen that he bought this fall that he loves more than he loves me (kidding - sort of) so he gets his HD fix on that. And there's nothing he likes more than watching football on that contraption!
:o)

For a guy that likes to watch football, you haven't seen anything until you've seen football on HDtv.

I was just at Shaper Image. I was thinking about you while looking for something else. They have a number of cool electronic/golf things. Something else you might want to consider is gilling items. Most guys like to believe they can handle a grill. William Sonoma has some nice stuff. Good luck.

Thanks, that sounds very interesting! I will see if they have those at the golf store he likes so much!

Thanks!

Here is something you might consider. Since he likes golf, there is a gps range finder for golfers. You download the course into the unit and when you are on the links, it pulls up the hole you are on and tells you the distance to the pin. I think he would love it.

Hey, sorry to post in the "gurls not allowed" board, but I'm really searching for great gifts for my husband. He never tells me what he wants; this year he just said "clothes." Well, I've gotten him two of the dry max golf shirts he likes, two shirts for work, a pair of pants, and a golf calendar (page-a-day; each page has a picture of a different famous golf course or a hole from one of the courses or a golf tip). But I don't think those are very exciting gifts.

Any suggestions? He likes to play golf, loves to watch football, and is a huge Virginia Tech and Atlanta Falcons fan. However, he has a ton of VT stuff and he's got nice new clubs. So that's out.

Thank you SO much for any help you can give!
