No problem! It's amazing how much just a small break can help. Hopefully you can get a little sleep here and there. sleep is a great way to let your body recoup.

| Hey, Matt. Thanks. As usual, another sensible post! It's amazing what a little rest can do, isn't it. Seems like this week I'm back to normal--at least as far as my knee and cold are concerned. Sleepwise? Well, I have a 15 month old in the house, so I get my sleep when I can!

When I've pushed it too hard and become sick, I make sure I'm 100% better before doing anything too strenuous. Especially when it's been a cold or something to do with respiratory system.
If it's an injury I do my best to keep training, but without stressing the injured area. If my knee is hurt then I focus on upper body or things that will help strengthen the knee. If it's an arm that is hurt then I focus on cardio, etc.
Ultimately you'll learn what your body needs. I've had times where I've burned 5,000+ calores in a week of exercising. Needless to say, the next week I end up letting my body rest. I now to try to stay more consistant and shoot for 2,000-3,000 calories per week. Once in a while I'll go over that because I'll go on one bike ride that burned 2,000+.

| So for how long do you lay off? I have been taking it pretty easy this week.

| Been there, done that. I now make sure to listen to my body and take a break when I need it.

Okay, fellas. Who's guilty?
Lately, I have been working hard on my workouts, burning b/n 3000 and 4000 calories per week, and I feel like I'm hitting a wall. I have my third cold in as many months, I can't get rid of a "hot spot" in my right knee, and I seem to be suffering from insomnia.
Anyone else? What have you done about this?
