Hey Guys,

I was glad to find this thread, I joined SP a little over a year ago and was amazed at the results I got. I went from 272 to 151 in about 8 months. Since then my life has changed completely and I've started to put more weight back on. I've balooned up to about 190 and am worried about going over 200 again. I have swore to myself that I will not return to that weight. I am again going through a a complete change in life, but this time I'm committed to not letting it effect my life the way it did last time.
I hope to get to know all of you guys.

You all can do it, with the right attitude and support it's amazing what you can accomplish!!!

Fitzy ;)

From being a Sparkperson for almost 360 days I can attest this stuff works and gets easier as your good habits kick in. In fact I am increasing my cardio and weights since my program too easy for me now.

Hey Guys,

I fell off the Spark wagon the middle of Decemeber, but when I weighed in today before my first workout of the year I was still at 194! Those guys that are close to 200 or far away you can get there. Just keep at and you will make it down, then never want to go back over that 200 pound mark again.

Hold fast to the pathway of right actions Men!

I honor my past and its lessons and I release negative feelings and attitudes based on the past. I take action this day, this year, to change habits or practices that do not serve me, knowing that Spirit expressing through me is greater than any habit.
I trust Spirit within to guide me in cocreation, to inspire me with new ways of thinking, acting, and speaking. This awareness ensures that, in every needed way, the new year marks a fresh start for me.

Broke the 200 barrier over Thanksgiving week!! Thought for sure that at best I would survive with a no gain week but I managed to lose my 2 pounds and brought the grand total to 199lbs!!!! Still to close to celebrate to much, one slip and I could easily be back over and that woul be a real blow to my motivation. Got to think positive and keep moving in the right direction.

Stick with it, and celebrate the 2 good days!!! Way to go!

It's a challenge to get started and immediately shut off all our old impulses, such as overeating when really hungry. I found that logging everything I ate in the Nutrition Tracker and seeing just what I did to myself was a big eye opener. It helped me quite a bit the next time I was in that situation. When you end up in the same position next time, remember to eat slowly and find the healthiest stuff to chow down on - grapes, apples, salad, etc. Also knock back a couple glasses of water and you'll feel fuller.

After a high of 228 a year or so ago, I started the trek toward 200. It began in earnest last week when I joined SparkPeople at 216. I'm heading toward 200 and appreciate the inspiration and motivation of everyone here.

Even though I had dropped 10 pounds in the past year, I went in for my physical and my cholesterol came back at 220 and my fasting blood sugar at 105. I'm almost 39 and am bound and determined to not have my health keep me from watching my boys (7 and 3) grow up.

I'm ESPECIALLY glad to have found the men on this site!

I just started on Sparkpeople about a week ago. Over the summer I was up around 215. I weighed myself this week and I was at 202. I was so excited I called my wife and she was excited as well. I have been hovering over 200 for 3 years now. I just want to get back under that 200 level and low enough to keep it there. My goal is 180.

I was over 240 about a year ago or so and lost about 20 pounds. I felt like a new person. After that I got sick and happened to get down to about 215. I've been pretty lazy and eating whatever I want, now I'm at about 230. I don't gain much, or not fast. I've decided to try Spark out thanks to my girlfriend. Currently I think being right about 200 lbs. would be an ideal weight for me. Once I'm there maybe I'll want to loose more, have to wait and see.

Yeah, the belt is a great sign of progress. I've already punched a couple of extra holes in mine, but it's getting to the point where the overlap round the side is not sitting smoothly.

I guess I'll just have to bite the bullet and get a new one. (Can't say I object to the "belt is too big" problem though).

Thanks Dr.! It really feels good to be this low... I try to stay around 1600 calories a day myself but I do allow up to 1800 if necessary. I also try to keep my fat intake as low as possible. It is really hard however to keep these numbers on Sat/Sun but I've been losing anyway so I am not too concerned (besides its not really that I eat more food on the weekends it the alcohol).

Tommy hopefully you will break the 200lb barrier soon, just keep up the hard work when you can!
TOMMYGREEN

Breaking the 200lb barrier would be a huge milestone for me since I haven't been that low in 5 years. I've made a lot of progress so far, but I'm still plateau'ing around 210, so although my first mini-goal seems within reach, it feels like it's really miles away. I'll get there soon enough I hope.

It is great to find a group not talking about bra size or female issues.
Yes I too have belt problems but I guess the style is a hang down portion of excess leather. Anyway it is the first time since High School that I have a 33 inch waist.
I am working on skin tightening and have gotten to the place where I can see my abs again.
Everyone tells me not to lose anymore weight but I still want to see how I feel at 185 and go from there.
I am on about 1600 calories at present and sometimes add a snack of 200 more if hungry.
Personally I think the healthy weight scale does not take in muscle that weighs more than fat.
Any good football running back weighs in at the unhealthy weight scale yet runs the 100 in twelve flat with pads.
I'm not making excuses for myself and others yet I cannot see myself weighing in at 175 or less.
In college I had a 32 inch waist 210 pounds at 6' 2"
and played linebacker. Due to gravity and age I have lost 2 inches in height so I think 185 is ideal for me.

I see the 200 pound barrier out there somewhere and I only have to loose 10 pounds to get there. Looking at my chart, it appears I am 42 pounds away but that is way too big of a chunk. My goal is to loose 10 pounds six times. Ten is a number I can grasp, six is a number I can grasp. 62 is too biug to conceive.

Congrats! I weighed myself for the first time this week in probably over a year. This is after a good amount of weight loss already (I've gone from notch two on my belts to notch five, and am actually finding that I need new belts at this point b/c I should be a notch further yet am lacking that sixth notch). I came in at 193.5 and was completely amazed that I was under 200 even though I used 200 as my starting point. My goal weight now is about 180, I'm hoping at that weight my the remaining belly fat will be mostly gone and the stomach muscles will be distinguishable. As for the healthy weight scale I say phoey... I'll never meet what is says I should because I am very muscular and I like it that way.

I don't know about what you other guys have experienced but I started a team called Breaking the 200 pound Barier 6 Months ago and have 4000 post and near 300 members. Problem is all but three are women.
I don't relate too much to there issues such as PM's and water retention so thought I could hang out here sometimes. I have broken the barrier and looking to be about 197 by Christmas so that I fit in the healthy weight scale just barely.
