Very true losingit, the not listening approach is very dangerous in its own right. In those cases an extended trip to the garage might work to diffuse the situation, only if she doesn't see you go.

| I've avoided answering that question for about 11 years now. If I answer truthfully, I run the risk of a fight. If I lie, I run the risk of a fight. So, I go with option 3: The husband's just not listening to you approach. Ignorance of the question. It works everytime.

| Actually my wife knows not to ask those questions because I am honest. I tell her she is beautiful even if the jeans are too tight. She is pretty healthy so she is always looking good and I would love her however she looked. Just celebrated 16 years of marriage this past week and it has been a wonderful ride.
