Lisa, I ran 66 minutes on my treadmill last night with no incline and according to the treadmill burned 1015 calories. I ran 6.6 miles so it was somewhere around 6 mph. I burned 322 fat Calories during that time. Could it be you looked at the readour wrong?

Don't give it another thought, an hour on the treadmill is awesome, who cares about the other calories, it's nothing. Don't beat yourself up about the little things, focus on the big picture!!

| Just enjoy it and do not worry about calories burned, you will only get worried and upset!

Lisa,
When you go to no incline, bump up your speed a bit. This will keep the intensity up while giving you a variety. HIT (sometimes called HIIT) training is good stuff, and definately worth considering.
Intensity (speed), resistance (incline), and duration (time) are your three variables. When you decrease one, increase one or both of the other two. This gives you the variety you want, and will help maintain the calorie expendature you're looking for.

I heard about that High Intensity training...That you run as fast and as hard as you can for a minute..then you catch your breath...then do it again...I sometimes try it..but I'm not that phsyically fit yet...
...and try and not to look at that calorie counter...a lot of times its really not all that accurate anyway...

Look into High Intensity Interval Training. 20 minutes of butt-kicking jogging/sprinting. I usually start with a 5 minute brisk walk and then alternate between jogging and sprinting every 60 seconds before cooling down for another 5 minutes. You will burn those calories fast...it is far more effective than jogging at one speed for 58 minutes. It's a lot of fun, too.
Best wishes and good luck!

Lisa, according to your post and my calculations another three minutes and you would have burned your minimum calories.
You should be proud that you can even be on the dang treadmill for 58 minutes. I'm dying after around 20, of course I'm about 120 pounds over my ideal weight.
Anyway, just wanted to give you a little boost. You should be proud of your accomplishments, no matter how small. And you ARE feeling better, aren't you?

Lisa,
Don't bet everything on the treadmill calorie meter. You probably lost the other 18 calories just with the residual burn after the workout, if you didn't burn it in the 58 minutes you ran. You're not crying. You're a pretty tough girl.

I just finished running for 58 minutes on my treadmill on no incline and see that I only burned 348 calories!!! OMG ..... this is not good. I am suppose to burn at least 366
I usually do inclines and running on the treadmill and yet today I wanted to switch it up ..as I was getting bored and just wanted to run ...
Well I LOVED my running for 58 minutes straight (okay jogging ... 4.2 mph) but obviously with the small amnt of calories burned ... I wont be doing this too much, if at all.
When I do my usual treadmill workout with incline (8%) for the same amnt of time I typically burn about 662 calories ...
Feedback anyone? shoulder to cry on ...
ps .. Im getting in better shape tho .. never would i be able to jog straight for almost an hour .. I could have gone on longer : ) woo hoo .. yeah heart! yeah legs : ) I loved it : )
