It sure is a struggle sometims. I realize too there are some people out there who don't crave, or don't really even like sweets... I wish I could fall into that group! but I do have a sweet tooth. some days are certainly easier than others. stress too is a factor for me... I know I go for the comfort foods, i.e. sweets, when I'm stressed. anyway, thanks for you input guys. I am happy to report that even with my recent junk food indulgences, I'm down two more lbs this morning! 178... haven't seen that in a long time!

| I'm right there with you. I'm having big time problems with the night cravings. Thats how I put back on 6.5 pounds. Trying to stay positive, trying to keep exercising and hopefully I'll get through it and so will you.

| Honestly, I just struggled through the cravings. I wanted the weight loss so badly that I wouldn't let myself "get off the wagon". I kept reminding myself how badly I needed to lose weight for myself and my wife. Fortunately it worked.

everyone is being so kind, offering help... ok, here's one.... how are you guys curbing your cravings? or do you have them? lately in the evenings I just can't seem to fight them. I want junk food, and sadly, I've been eating it! at least I've been able to continue to lose

howdy and thanks.
I don't plan on buying any new equipment. I've got some dumbells... I think they're called powerblocks? adjustable from 5-50lbs I think. It's been a while since I've used them, so I'll have to dust them off! LOL I probably should have been doing some strength training along with the fat loss, but I wanted to get the weight down before I started working out... Don't really want to bulk up too much, but would love to have a nice big chest, flat stomach, nice arms and legs. May as well dream it up big! LOL thanks again for the warm welcome, look farward to sharing the journey with you

Wow! Your weight loss is more than 2 pounds per week, I'm lucky to be able to get over a pound per week average. However, I am doing the cardio PLUS strength conditioning, so some of this is gaining better muscle tone. Since muscle is more dense than fat, that's slowing the weight loss down, but it is firming and toning. In the last three weeks I've lost 1.25 inches from my neck, an inch from my waist and 0.5 inch from my hips. I've gained an inch in my biceps.
When you start the resistance training, don't spend a lot of money. You can get some dumbells or a light weight set from Wal-Mart. You can also get resistance bands there. I wouldn't spring for one of those $1500+ systems unless you REALLY want to bulk up, and it doesn't sound as it that's your goal.
Remember, persistance is the key!

greetings.
Just heard about this site and thought I'd check it out.
Started 1 jan, and have dropped 35lbs. have been watching what I eat and doing LOTS of walking. I would like drop maybe ten more lbs and start working out with weights next. I've trimmed down a lot and now I want to work on toning, and building a little muscle. I dont want to gain too much muscle weight though. would like to stay between 175-180, but want to get firmer, more toned.
anyway... that's me... I'm looking for groups to join...
