Packerdude,
According to the web site below, a "Kaliber" non-alcoholic beer has about 61 calories.
http://www.mindspring.com/~zipf-williams/beer/calories_alcohol
The site also has calories per 100 ml of several other non-alcoholic brands. I think that 12 oz. is about 339 ml, so multiple the calories per 100 ML by 3.39 to get calories per 12 oz.
The site didn't give the breakdown by protein, etc., but I'd assume that most of the calories were from carbs and none from fat.
Cheers (so to speak),
Bob

| What about NA beer? I had one last night, but there isn't any info on the calorie tracker, and I can't find any nutritional info. Any ideas?

| Just make sure you properly hydrate yourself before doing too much cardio -- you know the beer is going to dry you up.

| I just started my diet a few days ago, and I had no idea how much alcohol was affecting my weight until I entered it into the Food Tracker. I used to have about 2 or 3 beers a night. Now I'll probably limit myself to a couple of beers on Saturday. If I drink too much on Saturday, I'll do some extra cardio on Sunday to make up for it. Cardio with a hangover, that should be punishment enough for me to learn my lesson.

| Yea - the FoodTracker certainly makes me consider the risk/rewards of having a drink. Went from having 1-2 beers a night on the weekdays to only about 1 beer a week.

When it comes to alcohol, what works for me is my No. 1 weapon and best buddy on this site - the Food Tracker. Drink a beer or margarita? Put it in the Tracker. Have enough calories left for another? Then go ahead and have it. Just stop before you reach your calorie limit. You won't feel guilty and you won't wreck your progress. Sweet.
Using the food tracker is the #1 reason SparkPeople has been successful for me. And helping out with drinking is just one of the ways it's helped. I track my calories EVERY day.

| I had my pool time a few weeks ago. Fortunately I was able to do some walking on the beach in the mornings. I was really happy when I got home though, 10 days and I only gained back a pound.

| This topic hits home for me. I am on vacation this week and my favorite drink is also the highest calorie (Long Island). Sitting by the pool drinking beer all day eventually leads to a couple of Long Islands for dinner.

I have the same problem. My wife can just stop after a glass or two of wine, but I have a tendency to keep going right up until bedtime. The next morning I kick myself because I know I just had a bunch of worthless calories.
I read the article and thought it was very informative.

For me, one of the problems with alcohol is that the first glass makes the second a lot easier, and the second makes the third even...well, you get the idea. Fortunately, I don't have the constitution to handle the stuff the way I used to, or I'd probably still be as big as a house. These days about all I can handle is a couple of beers when I can talk my daughter into taking me out for dinner--and she's a starving student, so that doesn't happen often, lol.
Here's an article that you might find interesting if you haven't seen it yet:

| I don't care for beer or wine, but I definitely cut alcohol consumption. I used to drink rum and coke, or a margarita several nights a week. I started cutting it by just drinking less each time. I would put less rum in the drink, or less tequila, etc. Now I only have a drink once a week tops. And I don't use as much alcohol as I used to. Not too mention, after weight loss, I get tipsy much quickr. lol

Hi Folks, My wife is very good about limiting herself to one glass of wine. She is also very consistent about having a glass most nights with dinner.
Unfortunately, I tend to give into having that second or third glass, and it's made it hard to sustain weight loss.
So I'm posting to find out if any of you have similar issues getting your wine or beer consumption down, and if you have reduced it, what worked for you?
