My sons trainer found a great exercise to change the my son's occasional bad attitude...they are called Wall Squats and are usually done while holding dumbells parallel to the floor.
If this exercise does not work, we move to a wall handstand for as long as the attitude or shoulders hold up. Usually the attitude loses.

| I've almost got mine out of the house. Unfortunately the one that is left is a 21 year old student whose butt seems to be skin grafted to the sofa. We got a big screen TV a couple of weeks ago and now I'm thinking that if I roll it out in the yard he may follow and I can shut the door behind him!

Chris I feel you pain and enjoyed your post a lot. I have a 9 year old son who gets my heart rate up for a good 1/2 hour everyday.

I should have worn the monitor this morning...I went to mall to see how fast money flies out of my wife's pocket. My wife is the Imelda Marcos of North Carolina, one shoe for every day of the month. My kids have the spend gene as well.
By the way, the first post on this thread was meant to be funny. Although I was angry for 30 minutes, checking the monitor helped to get me back in a better mood.

Whether you intended it to be or not....that way funny! I find it interesting to wear my HRM to see what my heart does during different things. The most interesting one is driving to the gym and seeing what my heart does in traffic. I thought for sure that my HR would go up but it never gets out of the 60s. In fact most of the time it stays in the high 50s.

I have scientific proof that 30 minutes of dealing with a very athletic, ungreatful, pre-pubescent Scottish/Irish\ male is good for 68 calories.
I had just started my heart rate monitor for a run and my son went into "melt down" over some petty issue with his sister. 68 calories later, the issue was resolved. Peak heart rate was 108.
The moral of the story, bad temperment may be good for cardio?
