| I think the internet did overpower ham radio buy a long shot, but it is fun to hear actual voices. I spend far more time with the computer than the radio. My base station and computer are side by side, so most often I monitor some of the local repeater frequencies while playing on the computer. If you do want to get some info on the hobby I would be happy to share what iI know or you could look for a local club. Jeff

Yeah, growing up I had a couple friends who got their license when they were like 8 or 10 years old. I was always just "too busy" doing other stuff to really give it a try. Then along came the internet in my teen years and chat rooms started overtaking my interest in HAM. Maybe one of these day's I'll look into it again.
