| Hey, RClarkson, what happened to the Royals? A couple years ago they were looking good with a promising pitching staff everyone was talking about. Did they trade the pitchers, make bad trades? Just curious if you could give me some insight.

| Yep. 26 World Championships for New York, but should be a lot more considering the amount of money they spend and they also have had the BIGGEST CHOKE in history for ANY sport!!! Not so great after all huh? And when all else fails they try to cheat their way to a win(A-rod!). Yankees Suck! Go Sox!!!

For all the years we have been let down or run over by the Yankees, we do at least know the Sox will be in the hunt every year. Royals are unfortunately a small market team and thus don't spend the 130million Boston doles out in payroll every year. Of course, what do you pay for tickets out there? We have the highest ticket price in the MLB and they aren't going down anytime soon. Fenway Park is the worse place in the world to watch a game, (I have been to Atlanta, Anaheim, Toronto, Chavez Ravine)yet the place sells out every damn game. I watch these games in Baltimore, Cleveland, TAmpa, even Atlanta with a good club, and the stadium is empty. It's a shame.
And as I predicted, Dinardo pitched a gem today and the Phillies avoid the sweep. Yankees are at Fenway tomorrow!!!!

I'm glad we don't have to play your Sox much. I think our double A Royals would have a difficult time defeating the kids in the Independent League here, the Kansas City T-Bones.
Interleague play against the Cards is a joke. You look up in the stands and it looks like it's a home game for the Cards there is so much red.
I know our owner didn't run Wal Mart the way he's run the Royals. At Wal Mart, he DIDN"T tolerate failure anywhere for much more than three months, much less for three years!
Maybe a miracle will occur and we'll finally get a truly professional team in a couple of years. Most of the fans in KC would be happy with a team that finished over .500

No, don't worry. The feeling is mutual. We have a bunch of relatives in Connecticut and all but one are Ded Sox fans, so we're used to the abuse. Can you say the eleventh inning? Phillies did the Yankees a big favor sending ol' Billy Wagner to the Mets. He gave us the game. One to one.

I do believe it was 3-0 with 2 outs in the 9th in game 4 wasn't it?? ONLY TEAM IN THE HISTORY OF BASEBALL HAS COME BACK FROM A 3-0 DEFICIT TO WIN THE SERIES. AND THAT TEAM WAS????? ANYONE???? | Braves are finally hitting. They always start out slow and manage to turn things around. The Mets schedule was weak early on and they will be tested more in the coming weeks. I hope Chipper stays healthy with 5 RBIs in 2 games he's a hot hitter right now. Go Braves.

| You have two chances of the Phillies sweeping this weekend. Slim and none. The only game that looks like the Phils have an advantage is Sunday with Lenny Dinardo pitching for Boston. I swear Francona likes to lose one game in every five just by throwing that kid out there. I like Clement tonight and I love Beckett tomorrow. Add to that the Yankees lost another outfielder last night(Crosby) and there may be a sweep in New York this weekend, the first place Mets sweeping the Yanks. But hey, it was a nice dream!!!

| Inter league play start's this weekend - looking forward to it, I think it was a great idea. I don't think I would want to see it all the time but it's cool to see a few series that you might otherwise just never see. Mets Yankee's is a lot of fun for me and my kids.

thanks Missy. I guess we are the lucky ones as we live up hill of the river and aren't getting the water. Other parts of the city look like the river. Schools are closed again today and might be for the rest of the week. dozens of homes and businesses are under water. I haven't heard yet of any deaths but I'm sure there will be. It is STILL raining, started last Monday and we may see some sun by tomorrow. They are saying once it does stop raining, the river will rise another 5 feet by Wednesday. Very scary out there.
On a positive note, the REd Sox finally played last night. they had to go to Baltimore to do it, but we did win again. Even if Baltimore is a Triple A team, it's still a win!!! :))

| I know I was really bummed out when I woke up and heard Jr hit a home run to give the Reds the win. Oh well, I'm just glad they won. My wife's really enjoying it right now cause the Cards are in first place.

I was one of those little California kids who worshipped the "bums" from afar. When they were beaten by the Yankees, which happened a lot, I was devastated. When they moved to L.A., I was ecstatic! I knew there were a lot of disappointed folks in the east, but hey, I was a kid and very egocentric.
Little known fact. Mrs. Walter O'Malley didn't live the life of the rich and famous. She was a schoolteacher who taught in the Pomona school system. How do I know? She taught my little brother in 1st grade! Cool, huh? That close to greatness.
When I grew up, married and had son's of my own, of course we were Dodger fans. When Tommy Lasorda was the manager, the team made a point of making at least one appearance a week whenever they were home, especially to little league teams who's coach would write in and ask.
I was, I did, they came. Tommy, Billy Reynolds, the "Penguin" and Steve Garvey. That's where I took the picture of my son and Tommy that my son got autographed the following year in Houston.
Now, I just wish they had a major league team in Kansas City.

As far as buying championships, everybody has the same opportunity to make the purchases/trades and the same opportunity to make money and attract fans. In fact, do a walk around the lineup tonight and tell me how many Bosox players came up from their farm system and then do the same for the Yankees. I think you'll be surprised with your totals.
As far as losing a game, it's the total in September that counts, but I will admit that if they can't beat Boston, they probably won't be there in October. OTH, everybody knows the Yanks always come back from a big loss with a couple big wins!

| My relatives live right across the river in Kentucky. I grew up watching the Reds when they were the Big Red machine. I would like to see them do good this year. Of course my wife disagree's with me since she's a Cardinals fan. We will see at the end of the season. I'm kindof surprised that the Braves have a losing season. That's something I haven't seen in quite a few years. They'll probably come back before the end of the season.

Ahh... Ain't baseball great? Everything you need to know about life can be learned at a baseball game. Loyalty, passion, teamwork, individual effort, we still need a cure for near sightedness (those umps can drive you to drink), life can be dirty and sweaty and it's still fun!
