Bkautza,

Maybe the thing to do is look for exercise opportunities in short blocks. Here's a list of 10 min workouts:

There are also tricks such as parking in the farthest space from your office entrance, using the men's room that's on a different floor, always taking the stairs, etc.

And, as Matt has pointed out, you don't have to schedule cardio for every day.

I would love to get up in the morning for my workouts but cant get out of bed. I get up at 6am for work but would love to get up at 5am and work out for the day. I set my alarm but I just dont want to get up.

Tips are welcome here because going to bed earlier is not an option. I have classes till 9:30 pm and dont get home until 10:00 pm. Looking for a great idea!

Bob gave some good advice. One thing you may consider is altering your workout routine. Many experts, including SparkPeople recommend alternating days between cardio and strength training. Maybe do cardio on mon/wed/fri and strength on tue/thur. Then switch the next week and do strength mon/wed/fri and cardio tue/thur.

Another option would be to keep both cardio and strength, but maybe pick one day to completey take off from exercise. Workout on Mon/Tue, use Wed to recover, then workout Thur/Fri and use the weekend to recover again. You can still get some good cario and exercise on the workout just by playing with your kids.

You're right to be concerned about enough sleep. Here's four articles from SP specifically about the importance of sleep and health. Read or skim through them and you may be able to take something from them.

I hear you, and I'm pretty much always sleep-deprived, too. If you are going to fix your problem, it looks like you either need to get to bed sooner or cut back on your workout, since I don't imagine reducing your hours at work is an option.

There are only so many hours in a day..

I have a problem. I started going to the gym about three weeks ago. I go every morning before work. I work from 7 am until 6pm. I get to the gym at 5 am. Do cardio until 6am then 30 minutes of strength training. Take a shower then off to work. My problem is that by the time I get home from work, eat dinner and get my kids to bed and spend some time with my wife its 9:30 or 10. I am only sleeping 5 to 6 hours a night and it is starting to catch up with me. How do I fit all this into one day and still get some sleep.
