CJ,

Yup! I've used eFile for like 5 or 6 years and love it. I had my state refund almost 2 weeks ago, and my federal came last week. It saves soooo much time to efile.

Will be doing mine this weekend... Turbo Tax I've used before...used tax cut last year...compared the results from each on my 04 taxes and same numbers I plugged in for each so you'd think the returns would be the same right? Not the case. Tax cut shorted me $35? so I'll stick with turbo.
Take care
CJ
GP... you use the efile too?

if you use the online version or the deluxe version it will ask about ALL your investments

I'm pretty sure it does. It will ask you questions on TurboTax.com to decide which of the three versions is right for you.

will turbo tax let you take into account your investments (roth, etc...) along with all the standard tax info?

I've used Turbo Tax for the last 3 years. It's pretty much idiot proof and lets you get in and out of your return pretty easily. If you do it on-line you don't have to pay until you file. Mine was $41 this year for state and federal. If your taxes aren't too complicated it works great. I hate paying an accountant $200 so he can tell me I owe money.

I use Tax Cut, but it's the same difference. Just filed this weekend and looking forward to the deposits to be made. Having 5 kids comes in handy!!

Yep, Turbo Tax is really pretty amazing. About 3 years ago the wife and I went to H&R Block and all they did was read questions off a computer screen and type in numbers (they actually use TaxCut)...And H&R Block binged us something like $200 at the time.

Since then I've been using TurboTax... I actually loaded TaxCut this year as well and compared the two... TurboTax is just a teeny bit slightly better in my opinion... I ran through both and ended up with identical returns, so I figure I'm pretty safe :-)

I love Turbo Tax. I used it for the first time this year because of the simplified State returns. It did find some additional deductions that I would have forgotten.

Thanks guys!

I think I will use it this year. In the past, I have always used the tax booklet and calculator to figure out my tax. I want to avoid as much of the headache as I can this year.

I use it. I actually already got back my State and Federal refunds! =)

Works great for me, but we don't take any deductions. By hand is too difficult to figure out with all the investment stuff, stocks, IRAs, 401(k), etc. I think for people who take deductions it's better to just use an accountant or someone like H&R Block.
