i appreciate the offer and help CJ. if you're ever in the area, just give me a shout. i just need someone to workout with, otherwise it seems as though it's a chore...not fun.

my motivator is remembering how fast I could move before I gained the weight.

Maybe the PT Chris suggested would help. He/she will be able to see your workout schedule and make suggestions... 1 maybe 2 sessions should get you back on the loosing track. Not having a workout partner does pose a problem if your not able to get in "the zone" and focus on the training at hand. I plug in the ipod and the outside world fades away for an hour. Wish you we;re in the neighbor hood cause I'd be glad to train with ya! 180! thats not too realistic for me... unless of course I sever a leg!! I was 185ish coming out of basic, jumpschool and RIP (Ranger indoc program) back in 89 w/7% BF ...there is no way I could keep that schedule now... without re-enlisting...(Aint an option)
All the best!!

i think the last week i have hit the wall. i've changed workouts, everything...but i started this on january 8th and lost 20 pounds to date. i'm to the point where the last couple of pounds are the hardest and i find myself getting frustrated to get that "one great workout" in. i will occasionally cheat on my diet now because i know i can afford to eat it because i don't have a lot to lose anymore...WRONG MINDSET FIRST OF ALL.
but my lack of motivation is coming from the fact i don't have anyone to workout with (at least that's what i can only come to at this point).
any hints from the gallery?

I found that changing what exercises I do helps keep me going. I started doing work out videos at home mostly because I was to embarrased to go to a gym. Then I started walking every day. I joined the gym two weeks ago. Some days I use the eliptical, other days the stairmaster, and other days the tread mill. I still walk when it is nice out. I found if I do the same thing day after day it gets old and there is more of a chance of doing nothing at all.

I hate to keep mentioning this 'cause I know things are tight for alot of people, but I've sacrificed a few "unnecessaries" for the opportunity to work with a Personal Trainer. He's helps keep me motivated and pushes me harder than I could push myself.

If you have the opportunity for this, I would highly recommend a PT. When you find someone you are comfortable with, stick with them. The personal relationship will help with the motivation as well.

hahaha... Ummm I'd have trouble keeping Mr. Winky out of the way...I'd trip, fall, break my face on the treadmill cross bar, follow through to the running surface, then get spun off the back of the tread and come to a rest halfway through the plate glass 4 foot behind the treadmill with the jazzersize ladys gawking over my splattered body planted in the drywall... while Mr. winky says hello!!
Not a pretty picture!!

We were talking at work about how to get motivated doing your exercise. I figure if Halle berry and Angaline Jolie jogged in front of me and said if you can catch me you can have me...that would motivate me. Unfortunately it would be fatal, first I would die trying and 2nd my wife can run faster than I can
