Well this is late, but wanted to share.
I made arrangements for dinner at the Angus barn here in NC. Called a week before the day to make several other arrangements. First, I asked if there were singers on staff because I wanted someone to sing "our" song during dinner. They told me they did, so I put them on the spot and asked for a small demo...I hit the speaker button and my co-workers became talent scouts. We voted and made our selection. The solng to sing was "Always and Forever" by Luther Vandross. Second, was to have her favorit flowers at her place setting before we arrived. Everything went off without a hitch :-D I handed her a card I had made... and when she looked up from the card, a tear had begun to fall, and the song began. She melted!! the entire establishment came to a halt as her sweet voice sang out!! I wish it had been taped but the memories will never be forgotten. Shes my best friend, my Love, my partner, mother to my children, and MY All!! Always and forever!! Take care all CJ

I ended up buying my wife a teddybear that the students at my school were selling as a fundraiser. She loved it. We went to dinner and had a great evening, after the son and grandson left. LOL

My wife is very frugal with our money and really gets upset when we buy eachother gifts on these so called holidays. I appreciate that. With that being said her birthday is this Friday so it is close enough to vday to go out and have a nice dinner then and wrap it all together with a nice gift.
guess I am kinda lucky that way!

| Well in the past 18 years I havent missed it no matter wher Ive been, if Im away at sea its flowers, when Im home its a gift, this year was to be different as we are going to move home she says we'll just give each other cards this year right!, that was me told so she thought, anyway got told I was bad but just to see the delight on her face was present enough, it has been a difficult period for us with her loosing her mother, so there hasn't been a lot of sunshine in our lives lately but the act and reaction to that simple gift meant a lot to me, the joy that the day has brought has been worth every penny.

Dont get me wrong I dont mind but why a change of heart when I had a good thing going? Oh well was not bound to last.

My wife says no to vday gifts and candy, she's also dieting, but I know I better do the card and flowers thing. Actually I already got her a balloon Bouquet from my kids at school. They were selling them as a class fund-raiser. I also plan to take her out for a nice dinner vday evening. This is important because I have to work very late on Tuesday because of a vday dance at my school. So it will be dinner after work and then home we go.

I'm lucky...my wife doesn't give a rats @ss about VDay! We don't "celebrate" most halmark holidays as they just don't have much meaning. lol...I love the frying pan comment!!
I do by my wife stuff in the middle of the year for no real reason though.

We are celebrating vday tonight we are going to a steakhouse. On the day itself I'm not sure what to do. I don't want to give her flowers that is sich a standard. Of course so is choclates but she will appericiate that more than flowers. What will you all do. One lady at work asked me what I was going to give my wife. As a joke i responded a frying pan. The joke did not go so well. She thought I was serious.
