I just can't make myself watch basketball anymore. It's not like back in the day.

I agree completely. I grew up in LA as a HUGE Lakers fan. Stopped watching NBA basketball when they changed it from a team game to the Michael Jorden show. I tried to watch the finals because it was Lakers-Celtics but I can't root for the Celtics, and I won't root for Kobe, so I just ended up turning it off.

Best of luck to you and your Lakers next year, Russ! James, living large in Titletown (who'da ever thunk it!)

It was a good series. This year, the better team won and hats off to them.
Pre-madonna? Nothing to be said to that except what my coaches said to us after a good win and people started acting like fools: "Act like you belong there." Might be a stretch to ask from a Chowd but that's what makes it so easy to like the teams and hate their fans. We can run this series back next year.

I'm tickled they won - it was a long time since the glory days of Bird, McHale, Parrish, Ainge...
Yeah, NBA just isn't the same - for one thing I remember the Celts winning afternoon finals games back in the day.
Still, number 17 is pretty sweet :)

| I am so glad the Celtics won and silenced those pre-madonnas that are known as the lakers. I just can't make myself watch basketball anymore. It's not like back in the day.

Cool Russ... Seeing one of the classic all-time rivalries rekindled ain't such a bad thing regardless of the outcome! Cheers, James

| Well, Since I grew up in L.A. and started watching in the pre-showtime era (Norm Nixon and company) I'll back my Lakers. It doesn't look great for them but they haven't quit yet.

Considering I work in Boston, live in RI... I'm with the Celtics big time. Their turn around has been amazing and facing the Lakers in the finals sure brings back memories...
GO GREEN! BEAT LA!!
James
