| To start you should ask yourself what you want the overall feel of the wedding to be. What feeling(s) do you want your guests walking away with? I did this and came up with two words: simple and elegant, and I wanted the guests to walk away feeling like they had seen at least one thing that they would have never thought of, but that was inspirational to them. I wanted happiness to permiate the room, and I wanted everyone to know whose wedding they were at. We will be getting married in 5 1/2 months, and I think I accomplished "the look" perfectly. I can't wait for everyone to see what my fiance and I have put together.

My FH and I have been engaged for 6 months or so and wedding just under a year away. We decided quickly on the venue and then we have just carried on from there. We started a folder with sections for such things as wedding attire, food, favours, music etc etc and anything we find interesting we have put in it. We have now made a number of decisions but we are now going to focus on an item each week or fortnight .. for example wedding cakes, made a decision, book and then move on to the next bit. Break it down into small bits (bits that even FH's can handle) and you will be fine :-)

It is a lot of work, but you can do it. Remember to ask for help when you need it. I have a notebook as well and it has been absolutely necessary or I would totally forget things! Try and picture it in your head: where it will be, what you might want to wear, the music, who will be there, etc. The more you detail you can picture the easier it will become to plan.

| You will slowly piece together a wedding that you love. There are a million ideas out there, so don't commit to any one thing until you've taken the time to realize that you LOVE it! Otherwise, you will find yourself with three wedding dresses and twice as many favors as you need. This is exciting! Have fun! :-)

I agree on the notebook idea... just be on the lookout for anything that inspires you, and write it down or paste/draw in some pictures, even! If you fiance wants to, make sure to get his input too - see if he has ideas for a great place for the reception (maybe a place that's special to you 2), or a favorite color he'd like to use.
The first thing you need to worry about booking is your reception site... and I'd book your photographer and priest/officiant next, especially if you have anyone specific in mind for either job. Try theknot.com or another wedding site to get a planning checklist that tells you what you need to do when. It IS a lot of work, but if you pace yourself and stick to a timeline, you'll get it all done without having to get too stressed over it!
Congrats and good luck!

| I started a book, cutting out pictures of things I liked, dresses, cakes, reception ideas. I wrote down ideas I had seen, read or just thought about.

A couple of months ago I bought the magazine Real Simple Weddings and it had a lot of great ideas. Martha Stewart also has a magazine. I know that there is a lot out there and it can be overwhelming. He hasn't officially asked me, hopefully soon.

| best place to start is get a notebook and start writing down everything u have seen that u like, or u can also go to google and type in whatever u like for wedding cakes or flowers and click through the imagines for ideas, at first u will have a lot but soon u will figure out what u really want
