Hello and welcome to SP! I'm getting married on the beach, in Cape May NJ. My current profile image is my dress, I just ordered it last week. I would suggest trying on and ordering your dress six to nine months in advance. The store that I went to said that that's the time line that they suggest. And it leaves plenty of time for alterations! Best of luck!

Hi, I'm Dre. I just joined about a week ago. To get the goal line, go to your page, click edit my sparkpage. then scroll down to where it says My weigh loss ticker- and edit it there. I had the same question just a few days ago.

Also, congrats on getting married. I just got married last Aug, but my husband is Jamaican, and his fam couldn't make it, so we too are trying to get married again this summer in Jamaica, for his family, but money is tight, so we may have to wait a while. I too want to lose some weight, about 50. We go there several times a year and I feel out of place at the beach, though I love it sooo much. It's so beautiful there. We also want to have another baby soon, so I want to be in good shape for that. I think it would be a good idea to start trying on dresses, that way you know exactly what you are looking for, then when it gets closer t your wedding, you know what style, or even what dress- then just have it taken in.

I wish you all the luck, and if you need a friend or some motivation- I'm here for ya!!

See ya at the finish line!
-Dre

I will be getting married in Jamaica, on the beach barefoot. I want to lose as much of my 100 lb goal as possible before then. I am realistic and not planning on actually losing all of weight by then, but i am holding off on buying my dress until late sept or early oct, so that the fit will be as close as possible. I have found, on-line, a couple dresses i really like in my price range. Would it be ok for me to go ahead and try them on now, even though i dont plan on being this size come november? and on an un-relate topic, i'm new here, and would like to know how to get the goal lines like alot of people have at the bottom of their posts. Thanks for any input you may have!
