| what i've done is picked a matching skirt for all my girls (9) from the alfred angelo separates, and then i'm letting each bridesmaid pick her own top--strapless, spaghetti strap, halter, whatever..., and all in the same color (mocha). so, they'll all have something different, and something they've picked and are comfortable in.

| My sister is the maid of honor and her dress look very similar to the others except its a little mor fitted and the top is a different cut. It looks amazing on her. She will also be the only one holding her own bouquet as all the other girls will be holding spanish fans as their partner walks them down the aisle.

| she called me back left a message i was helping my h2b clean out is car with the rug scrubber/shampooer. she left a message saying that the bm should all wear the same ugly pant suit dress!!! i dont nkow what to say or do.......she totoally missed the point, that wanted a country western wedding...........frustrated.......she got my email and replaied back. saying that she was going on vacation next year (in june, the wedding is in april), worried bout her size nd how it looked (which i didt take into consider bc she is like half of my age), and th cost...(db can be expensive, but we only looked at once plce down in my home town). so i was upset last night my h2b emailed her and told her that he talked to me, and that there are other places. so hopefully can ge this mess straighted out. bc i still want them to be ni m y wedding. and he also told them that the dresses that well pant suit thatshe picked out was ugly and maybe we can compromise........so hopefully this mes will be straighted out but feel like i got a weight lifted off of my shoulders.

UPDATE
i emailed my moh just now (i am chicken on the phone). long story short i told her that its going to be a country western themed wedding that i think that the stuff that she showed me and h2b might clash not look right. and i undertsand if her mom cant afford for both the moh and the other bmaid dress that i can find someone else to replace the bridesmaid i still want her as a moh and gave her some websites for coutnry western bmaid dresses that i really liked. so now idk what she will say.

| this is all very interesting information. I have not had my girls pick out their dresses yet but I always had thought that the MOH had a slightly different look than the bridesmaids...thanks for the enlightenment!

|
| I made my maid of honors dress a slight different color than the rest of the girls dresses. I've seen things like different color sashes or rhinestones around the bust line where the others are plain. Best of luck!

All of my girls, too, are wearing the same dress. I let them all wear their own shoes and do their hair however they want. I'm actually thinking of letting my maid of honor carry my throw away bouquet so that hers is a little different from the other girls. My regular bouquet is red roses with a slight mixture of stargazer lilies. They were going to carry just a single stargazer. My throw away bouquet is all red roses with cute sheer white ribbon on it. *shrugs* we'll see.
Back on topic. I don't think it is vital to have the MOH dress differently. Everyone will know which one she is due to her location throughout the ceremony. It's not just up to preference; so if you are having a tough time finding a different dress for her, don't worry about it! Change up her necklace or add a sash if you just have to have her different from the others! (Or like someone else mentioned, have her hair different from all the others).

All of my girls will be wearing the same dress. Nowadays I think you can do whatever you please when it comes to weddings!
P.S. MRSFOOTE2B, I see you're rocking the Judy Garland quote also! :)

| I've heard of this, but I hadn't thought it through enough so the day we ordered the dresses, my MOH just got the same one. I'll set her apart in other ways, maybe giving her a flower to wear in her hair and a larger bouquet than the other bridesmaids. It's all up to you though. I've seen it done all different ways.

| All of my girls are having the same dress, but my maid of honor is doing her hair differently from the other four girls and her bouquet will be slightly different (not as big as mine, but bigger than the others). I liked my dress so much, and I'm very picky, that I didn't want to go through the hassle of trying to find another dress more/less special.

| only thing is like i had one cetain style wanted but three out of the four are lil bit heavy (moh included) and like they wanted like a high waisted long sp. strap dress. which is fine but idk how i could make hers dif and also color alternating with the guys side to with there ties. maybe just have her wear one of the ribbons/bows whatever u call them around her waist just her though if that dont work then do what the other person said just change her flowers. thanks for the advice guys!

| You could give her some specifics about what you are looking for and let her pick out her own dress.

oddly enough this is the first time i've heard that the MOH is supposed to look different than the other girls. all mine are wearing the exact same dress with the exact same bouquet...
if you really like how you have it planned out but wanted something different what about changing up the bouquet that she has vs the rest of your party? that's simply and not too much of an obvious change.
