I watched a show on TLC last night that said that you shouldn't control WHAT you eat so much as you should think about HOW you eat it. Focus on eating as slow as possible (even if it feels wierd) and you'll actually get full faster, therefore eating less! Good luck! :]

You have plenty of time! Drink lots of water and try new recipes!!! Spark has lots of them, I also pick up healthy cookbooks when I see them, I like the ones that have nutritional information included so you don't have to figure it out yourself. My goal was to try two new recipes for dinner a week, when we find one my Fiance & I both really like I put it in OUR cookbook...now we have a cookbook full of yummy, healthy dinners!

First do not think of it as a "diet" but instead a lifestyle change. Make small changes first...from whole milk to skim milk, a little at a time. Incorporate more fruits and vegetables in your "diet" meaning what you eat. Say...today, I am going to have two pieces of fruit and then work your way up...five a day keeps the doctor at bay, but nine is divine!! Do this and these changes will last a lifetime and remember it takes 21 days to make a habit.

Good Luck!

I try to not deprive myself of things, but rely on portion control. I cut back on the portions I used to eat. Instead of using butter on things, I use the butter spray. I always order dressing on the side and dip my fork in it rather than pour the dressing on the salad. I pack my lunch every day and only bring what I am going to eat for the day. I found that when I bring extra snacks, I eat them no matter what.
Take a deep breath and believe that you can do it! Maybe making small changes at first would be best. Good luck!!!!

Hi Everyone,
I need your support. I want to lose some weight before my big day which is August 2. But I don't know where to begin. I try dieting but I cut everything out and then I end up giving into my wants. I want to do this the right way. To cook healthier at home, eat better portions and to exercise more. I honestly don't know how to cook and when people say use spices I have no idea which ones to use. I need ideas of what to bring for lunch's at work, snacks and what to make for supper. I just don't know what to believe anymore, cut the sugar, the carbs, no pasta, no red meat. What is good for me? Any help, tips or suggestions would be appreciated.
