Thanks, I think that's what we'll do. I like a more personal feel to things anyway.

My fiance and I discussed it, and we hate them as well. Then he found an article some where about other ideas to do rather than a receiving line. (I wish I could remember where he found it!) We are at the same location for both our wedding and reception, and we figured it would be much easier to just go around to each table after everyone has eaten, which was one of the suggestions. The guest can still give you the congrats/hugs/whatever they would have in the line, and it will seem more personal because you approached them. Its something to think about! Good luck with your wedding! :)

I'd like to know everyones thoughts on doing a receiving line. I always hated them when I was at other peoples weddings, so I'm not sure if I'll do one. If I don't, is there something I should do instead? Help!
