Hello All! I too am getting married in Sept. The 6th! Woohoo! I don't have to worry about getting in to my dress since I'm having it custom made and she's making it to fit me, but I still need to lose a few (ok...a few more than a few!). Anyone want to be my buddy???

I met someone on here and she suggested Leslie Sansone. It is a walking video. I went out and bought it yesterday and I LOVED it. It is 3 miles of walking in 45 minutes! You are booking it. I got walking away your waistline. It is great and easy to follow. I hate working out but I loved her video. You might want to try that.

I haven't written in a while. I went through some changes, I lost a few pounds and I became a vegeterian. Weird I know. I'm having trouble with motivating myself to workout. I am lucky enough to have a trainer(he's a friend of my Fiance)twice a week. But I usually end up going only once a week(but I think that's because it's soooo cold out and trecking to his gym is a pain in the ass) But other then that I don't workout on my own. And i think if i just added a third day of workout, i could lose the weight and tone up a lot faster. How do I motivate myself to go running when it's freezing outside!

Chem- I will be your buddy if you still need one. It is ok if you slip a few times. No one is perfect at this. I have slipped to. We will make it through this! Good luck to everyone.

i find the best way for me to stick to my workouts is to set the alarm and as soon as i get up or hear it go off - i have to get dressed and go otherwise i dont

Hi fellow Brides!! I'm getting married September 20th 2008 ALSO and am trying to lost 30-35 pounds and tone up by the end of July (ideally). I'm love a buddy to help me stay on track! I'm doing ok with my diet part minus a few mess ups here and there but I'm struggling to stick to my workouts.

that's a great way to put it! i have to lose a lot of relationship pounds!!

Wow--I was never that small, even in HS (well, maybe 9th grade)! I have lost about 5 total since I started, and it has been VERY slow for me with ups and downs. At one point before the holidays I was down to 133 and now I'm back up to 136. I try not to judge by weight because of the whole muscle vs. fat thing. Numerically I haven't lost much but my arms are more tone, my clothes are fitting more loosely, I try to pay attention to that. Anyway, I lose the most weight when I get into a consistent running pattern combined with pushups and/or weights for upper body. I also do spinning, yoga, and step classes here and there to keep it interesting. After college I went from about 142 to about 125 and back then I was mostly running, too. Stupid me, I fell in love and gained it back! Gotta love those relationship pounds.

I know! I'll get back into it. Tonight I ate well, but I think I ate too much. I've asked this before, but how long did it take for you to lose your weight so far? I think I'm going to start spinning... I can't believe it, but I used to be 103 in high school. Seriously...what happened?!

Because change is HARD! We are so used to our routines and even though the changes seem simple, it is hard to make them stick. I have a hard time being forgiving and just getting back into it once I veer off my plan. We need to be more forgiving of ourselves!

that's actually a great idea. i'm just so nervous that i'm going to sabatoge myself and not do anything until like 7 weeks before. i am a major procrastinator like that. of course, i have lost 2 pounds, but i feel like i already gained that back. ahh! why do i defeat myself like this?

I'm having a bad week, too, Bridetobe. I was sick this weekend plus it was my time of the month. I made myself work out but wanted to eat EVERYTHING!

Today I started something new. I put a checklist of healthy things to do every day on my fridge, to remind myself it's not about losing weight but feeling good. So I have categories where I can check every glass of water, serving of vegetable, cups of green tea, whether I remembered my vitamins, and if I worked out at all (not how many minutes, just yes or no). I am hoping it will help me stay positive but today is the first day!

Maybe you can do something to remind you of your goal? Picture of your dress on the fridge, etc?

It's so hard to get back in the swing of things. I look at the food in my fridge, and it's hard to get excited about it. Help~

Thanks BrideToBe. Except now I'm hungry for chili.

it's hard, but you just have to tell youself that it's necessary. i am getting ready for a chili cookoff--so i made a ton of fattening chili with hot dogs--had two of them last night...i didn't even attempt to add that in my nutrition report...this morning, am back to yogurt. you can do it!! think of it this way--7 months to go!! you don't want to be in a panic 7 weeks before your wedding...

So how's it going for everyone?

I tried really hard to be good for the Superbowl--ate healthy all day and filled up on soup before the party. I baked cookies and only ate 1. I even took popcorn for a healthy snack, but I did have a few beers. I jumped back up almost 4 pounds over the weekend!!! I know it could be mostly water, but that's still pretty frustrating.

How do you get motivated again after a setback? I'm going to spinning tonight--that should help a little bit.

i am so scared of push ups! never been good at them but i guess i should start, huh?! you will LOVE hawaii. it is the coolest place on earth.

Nitchy, I do some weights but mostly push-ups for my arms. In the past when I've lost weight they gave me really great tone because they work lots of different muscles in the arms, shoulders, adn back at the same time. I have back problems, so I do them modified (on my knees). I've been back at them for about 2 weeks and last night I started to notice some definition!

Hawaii sounds GORGEOUS!!!! I have never been--my fiance has and he loved it. We're going back in Spring 09 with his family. I can't wait!! I bet your wedding will be gorgeous!!

Another thing that helps me to hit the gym is to go straight after work instead of coming home first. If I get home, I don't want to leave again. I have a small snack near the end of the day so I can last until dinner a little later at night.

you just have to envision yourself in your dress...i keep telling myself that i don't want to be freaking out with a few weeks to go. 7 months is plenty of time!!

Hello,

I am getting married September 27 in Sedona, AZ. I am looking for a buddy as well. I have about 15-20 pounds to lose before the wedding. I was doing well when I started a couple of weeks ago, but I noticed myself backsliding. I can't seem to motivate myself to get to the gym on a daily basis. I pay for the membership, but don't want to go! Right now I am debating whether I should go or stay at home and be lazy. I know other people have this annoying problem too. Let me know if anyone is interested. Thanks!

no real significance. my fiance and i went there for work, of all things, and we fell in love with it. i loved it soooo much that when we left, i cried. in fact, i cried for a few days afterwards. before i thought hawaii was kind of like a cliche or something...but after being there, i get why it's so well loved.

i hope so! the spark people estimates is that i'll be at my goal weight by july. how accurate do you think that is? oh, how do you get the weight thing (with the cute turtle!) to pop up when you post?

Wow Hawaii that's nice! Is there any significance to getting married there or just cuase it's Hawaii? If you lose 15 pounds will you have enough time to alter the dress?? That's one of the things I'm wondering.

hey, i need a buddy, too! i'm getting married on sept. 23rd... it's a tuesday, but we're doing it in hawaii, so we figure everyday is like a weekend. i already bought my dress and it fits, but i would like to lose like 15 pounds...

That's funny , it is a very popular date I hear!! Where r u getting married? My dress is an Anne Barge original, I lucked out and bought it at a wedding boutique that sells donated by designer dresses for children's charities. So it really worked out and I did something nice for the world hehe.

Where did you get your dress? I neeeeed to tone my arms too. Reed(my fiancé it feels weird calling him that lol) and I work out with a trainer two days a week. So hopefully my arms will be in shape soon. Last week i worked so hard i couldn't bend my arms all the way haha. What are you doing for arm workouts??

Hope your planning is going well and fun, it gets stressful but the end result will be worth it.

That's our date, too, Nitchy! I saw that a few people in one of the other threads have that date, too. I didn't post in one of those because I didn't know if it was ok to jump in late. I'm new to the message boards even though I've been using Spark for quite a while.

Congrats on finding a dress! What's it like? How was your dress shopping experience? You'll get the 10 lbs off by then!

I found mine, too. It fits me as is, but just a tad too tight. I don't want to lose too much or it won't fit in the bust--just a little around the waist. I want to get rid of the "back fat" around the edge, and since it's strapless I want to have really buff arms and shoulders by then...

I'm getting married Sept.20th 2008. I just got my dress. And basically the seamstress told me they could add a bunch of extra fabric to make me fit into the dress or I could loose 10 lbs. So i'm trying to loose the 10 lbs and then some. Just trying to find good weight loss food to eat.

Hi! I'm getting married this September and I'd love a buddy. I would like to lose a little weight but would like to focus mostly on overall energy, health habits, and maybe toning certain areas of the body? Anyone else have similar goals?
