| I know you have probably heard this before: Stop looking and it will happen. That's exactly how it happened for me. Everyone told me to stop looking and when I finally did, there he was. I was 40 when I met him and we've been together for 1 year 7 months. I had to learn to love myself first!!!

It will happen, if you let it. Being negative about it, won't help... it might scare off mr. right.
I was never negative, always hopeful, but deep down I had given up hope.. then he creeped into my heart without me even noticing... and fell in love with me... and I haven't been able to stop smiling sense.

| Those who commented on getting yourself "okay" first and loving yourself, are sooo right. Don't discount that as mumbo jumbo, just because it's hard. A good man wants a woman who is happy with herself. Love is work and you have to be ready to believe that you are worth it, so you can work hard at that amazing relationship that WILL come into your life! You are worth your smallest effort in making yourself the person you want to be! Get yourself happy, so your happiness is there to share with someone else. :)

I thought the same thing for a while, I thought it was just me and my guys friends till the end. haha. I wasn't looking, and i was even happy in my life, and then GT just happend one day.
We knew eachother in HS, and he was working at cingular 5 years later, when i can in to buy a phone.. i even tried to avoid getting him as my salesman to avoid that.. 'how have you been since hs' talk. but .. i got stuck with him.. lol and 1.5 years later we're engaged.
it's absolutly insane how fast things can happen and change your life upside down.

| I found my fiancee through telephone dating. I was tired of my friends always trying to hook me up. I decided the telephone dating was more entertainment than anything, so I never really had expectations. I honestly was so surprised at the rudeness and sexual requests that I found it more entertaining than anything. I never expected to find someone nice. We chatted for three months before I thought we should meet. Three years later, we're planning our wedding. The oddest thing is that he actually hates talking on the phone.

| don't give up i found my fiance in a yahoo chatroom 3 years ago and now were getting married. We were just friends that just talked on the phone mostly but last year i was going through a rough time and he moved here from florida ( He had been up here before) to be closer to me and help me out. It is so cute too how now my daughters call him papi Joey. Don't give up or better yet quit looking and it will find you.

| i agree with miracle i gave up on looking for guys. before i met my future hubby i went on dating sites online and i gave my stepdad gray hairs by having him meet some of the crazy lunatic people on there but my mom talked me into going to this one concert with my buddies that i didnt want to go to and all of a suddent i met my soon to be hubby i am queen shy to talk to guys, but just something about him that i knew that he is the one for me.. but it wasnt until we met the second time bc he had a very bad childhood and we didnt exchange numbers but found each other at the end of toby keith concert well he found me and weve been together ever since almost two years and still going strong. it will happen just pray about it and when you atleast expect it it will happen. its like what my fiancee always says "good things comes to those who wait" and now i believe him. bc i waited 26 almost 27 years to find him. just be patient i know it is hard sometimes beleive me. but it will happen.

When you least expect it Mr. Right will come along. I met my fiancé at my friend's company holiday party. I had recently come out of a bad relationship and had sworn off men. When I first met him, I could not stand him but he was persistent. He kept on until I gave him the number. After our first conversation I was totally in love with him. He is my Prince Charming. Just wait you may have to kiss a few more toads, but your Prince will come.

| You know, I used to say the same thing...I will never find a boyfriend much less a husband. At the age of 30 I literally gave up ever having a partner in life. I finally accepted the fact that I was OK with being single. I started running and exercising for nobody else but for me. It was exhilarating!!! I started to lose weight and I began to feel good about me and I did it for MYSELF!! Then, lo and behold my fiancée walked right into my life. It was the most precious and unexpected thing!! It is so important to love yourself FIRST! You cannot bring love into your life until you first love yourself. YOU ARE WORTH IT!!!

| When my friends and I were all single, we'd sometimes see a couple and say, "How is it that I'm single? I'm way better looking than that girl and she's got this great guy!" Now I'm about to get married. I had to realize that it wasn't about being hot or skinny or rich or perfect. It was about life's timing and knowing that somewhere someone is looking for someone with all the traits that only you have and vice versa.

I didn't find anyone when I stopped looking, but I did find someone when I was actively looking. A lot of times you do need to put some effort into finding someone -- doing activities that you love, online dating, getting your friends to set you up, or talking to a guy first.
Be confident and secure in yourself. You're a beautiful, fabulous person. Don't be down on yourself. You wouldn't want to be with a guy who was always down on himself, would you? Go out, have fun, and take care of yourself, and you'll eventually start attracting people.

i believe men are attracted to confidence.
my advice- learn to love yourself and you will find a great guy. i prayed for a "nice guy" and my fiancee is that, and so much more.

| The best advice I have to give anyone is: Be YOURSELF. When I met my fiancé I was on my way to a date with someone else and I was looking good... My hair was done, make-up was perfect, you get the idea. We started talking and I mentioned that my shoes were killing my feet. He asked me why women torture themselves because he believed that there was nothing more attractive than a women rolling out of bed with sweatpants and a baggy T-shirt on. So just be yourself and goods things will come.

In 1999 I gave birth to my second child and divorced my husband after ten years of marriage. I had put on so much weight that I did not attempt to look for someone to be attracted to me. I was actually content with raising my two daughters. Two years ago I met someone that I was instantly attracted to...eventually we became really good friends and dated. I completely sabotaged that relationship because of trust issues...and because I was not 'thin.' Needless to say...we stopped dating, even though we are still friends. I work with mainly males...so I was always teased at work that I would be getting married. I told them that they were crazy, that I was not interested in dating let alone marry someone. I would always jokingly say that the individual I agree to marry will either have to be exceptional or very rich. I never believed I would meet either. That was until last April. I met the most exceptional man in the world. He loves me for all that I am...even with my current weight. He does not pass judgment on me...he loves me for me. Trust me when I say...I was not looking. You need to believe in yourself...be proud of who you are and hold your head up. It will happen when you least expect it!

I met him when I was still with my ex, and then my ex cheated on me with his girlfriend!

I totally agree with Laurilea...I used to dress up everytime I went out with my girlfriends hoping it would help me meet someone. I couldnt understand how just being myself would get me a boyfriend but thats exactly what happened.
I went out for a drink with a girlfriend wearing my oldest least flattering clothes, no make up, messy hair and I met my fiance that very night. I wasn't even thinking that I might meet someone and it happened. That was thirteen years ago and we are getting married in October
It will happen..just try not to look like its your mission because nothing scares a potential partner off more than desperation

| I used to hate it when people would tell me "stop looking, it will happen when you least expect it." But for me, it was so true! The best advice I can give is be good to yourself, take care of yourself, be your own best friend, do what makes you happy and the other pieces will fall into place.

Don't you worry the right person will be yours. There is someone for everyone. I used to be so picky must be tall must have this or that. After a heart break I decided i will not focus on looks. I made a list I know silly of what I really wanted. I mean I always knew what shoes I really wanted but i didn't know what guy I really wanted. So I wrote about him but it away.
Well now I have found him on yahoo of all places. We are best friends and its great. Hang in there you will be with the one. Keep busy in the mean time.
