I know what you mean. I feel so behind. My wedding is this july. I still need to book the dj, the photographer, the catering, the rental equipment, order the invitations, get the bridesmaids to get their dresses and shoes, order the cake, book the florist, etc. So much to do, so little time. Good luck getting everything done! :D

I am not getting married until 1 1/2 years. I can;t even imagine beginning to plan for my wedding. So good luck to everyone who is close to the date!

Me and my soon to be hubby are just going in front of the judge. I never wanted a wedding. I think that the planning of it is too much and as long as i love him and he loves me then we dont need to spend thousands trying to make it a fairy tale. good luck girl!

Don't worry all brides are under stress. Try and take some you time, like go get a massage or get your nails done, something that you will like and enjoy.

Believe me I understand the stress. My fiance is in School getting his masters degree. I am going back to school for my masters in a few months, we are looking to buy a house now and we're planning the wedding.

We'll all get through it, just stay focused on how beautiful your wedding will be and how happy you will be that day!

ZUCCA4: Remember it is your wedding. My fiance and I are getting deployed in May so we are getting married in April. His sister will have 3-weeks old baby, my family lives 2600 miles away and I had 4 months to plan. So I understand being stressed and busy, but don't try to please everybody.

Good Luck!

I really slacked off on planning during the last 4 months or so... to much holiday stress and work! I recently got my act back in gear though, and have made appts for cake, flowers, a minister, a musician, etc. I have my reception and ceremony place booked though. I feel like when you get those two major things booked and a color palette, everything else seems to fall into place once you start making appts. Oh and don't forget your dress! Sometimes, depending on the salon you get it at it can take 4 months or more to make (although sometimes I think they just say that!)

As if wedding planning weren't stressful enough on its own, I'm currently in law school, and my fiance is in a PhD program while we plan our May 25 wedding. But that's not the worst part by any stretch of the imagination. In addition, we each come from very complex divorced families with numerous "steps," 7 "parents," and countless politics, fights, and agendas. It's really getting to us these days

Get a wedding planner, delegate or ask for assistance. I am trying to pick most things, but I let my mother take care of the food, tables and other reception details. She asks me before she does anything, but for the most part I am glad I don't have to figure things out on my own.

Last night I typed out a 4 page outline of everything I need to get done, and that helped me feel better about everything.

I'm going to try to do 1 major thing a week until it is all done. This week was the dress. Next week the tuxes and colors. The week after will be flowers and so on. I'm also trying to work on the invitations and all that a little bit at a time so it won't be so overwhelming when the time comes to send them. I would encourage you to start now because things to get booked up and the more time you give yourself, the less stress you will have. At some point I'd like to be able to have it all done, sit back, and focus on being healthy. Good luck!

I think the only thing I would be stressing about with your time frame is finding the place for the reception. Get that booked and you should be fine on everything else...it's all gravy after you book your church & reception. :)

Every body has a point about the knot. It's awsome. But just think. You have a place to get married... and a dress to get married in. Those are the big ones. If you plan nothing else, you can still have subway cater and pick up sheet cakes from a grocery store, while dancing to music played on your i-pod (or other mp3 device... or even a boom box) In the end, you're married!

Relax!!! Weddings are fun!

Also, the knot is not awesome at cheap caterers... try a local web serch, or even pick up the phone book and call those people without full page adds. That's how we found mine.

I agree that the knot is great. I looked at my wedding website today, and the little countdown says 148 days. I had a little freakout, but I'm hoping it will just motivate me more to get things done in the next couple of days.

Good luck staying calm...
