i'm new to sparkpeople and to this particular message board, but I, too, want to be toned and sexy with the curves that mark femininity. Nicole Richi is a stick. That's not what I want. While I don't hold Jennifer Aniston as my image of beauty, I agree that her body is a good goal. I want to look good for my wedding, and not look back and cry, upset that I didn't look the way I wanted to. And honestly, it's all for me. My fiance likes the way I look, and I'm glad he does. But I don't share the same view. It's for me, so I can feel happy in my own skin and not like some lecherous traitor whose masquerading as someone else.
It's more than wanting to look sexy, I want to FEEL sexy too.

wow, what different definitions of skinny. I think curves are what make wemen beautiful. But I am by no means promoting being over weight, because excess weight can be unhealthy, and uncomfortable. However I have heard the same is true about being under weight. I guess we would all have to agree on what 'skinny' is in order to even have this debate. However I have been called skinny before when I lost 165 pounds a couple years back. I sure wasn't what I would define as skinny, but what a fox. lol I just don't wanna cry and mess up my make up before the reception. lol I guess my priorities are all crazy. Most importantly I wanna be there happy and in love with my Fiance'.

| I'd like to be called skinny lol. I've never been looked at, and someone said "Oh, I would love to look like her!" etc. But, I don't want to look like a stick-figure either. I still want my curves! lol

| I love your definition of skinny! You really hit it on the head. I would most definietly prefer to be skinny like Jennifer Aniston. She has great tone! I would love to have a body that even somewhat looked like hers. Good luck!!!!

I wouldn't mind being called skinny! I don't think that has ever happened to me! ha! Well I have about 6 months to go before my wedding, so I doubt I will hit the "skinny" mark, but here's to hoping that somebody has the opportunity to call me "more toned looking" or "she looks great in that white puffy dress, she must be losing some weight!" Good luck girls!

| Hell. I want to be skinny! But to me, skinny means toned, strong, sexy... not "Nicole Richie" thin. To me, skinny is Jennifer Aniston or Reese Witherspoon... real women, who are by NO means over weight, and are strong, confident & sexy! They just look like they love themselves! That's skinny by my definition!

| YEMNIUS you have a great point. By the way, I don't know what the rest of you looks like (and no, i'm not hitting on you) but you have the prettiest face I've ever seen. I am not shocked at all to know that man was checking you out!!

I would like to be healthy and look great. Some people may call it skinny and some may call it athletic. But I would like to look like the best me I can be. And I think we all have some desire to be "skinnier" or we wouldn't be trying to lose weight.
Good luck to everyone and may you all achieve your goals of "skinny, athletic, toned" whatever you each individually desire!
Here's to each of our weddings and being the most beautiful brides we can be!

| Well hello there : ) I guess i'm the chunkiest of us brides... I'm sort of used to it by now, but I am hoping that I loose lots of sizes by my wedding. You guys are lucky since you don't have to loose soos oosososososososooooooooo much weight. I believe that all women wether skinny or chubby we are all beautiful. I found that most men love all kinds of women skinny, short, tall, blonde, red, blue. You know it seems funny to me that even though i'm really really chubby, men still check me out. Just last week I was trying on this dress with some super super sexy shoes and this man was sitting by the changing area waiting for his wife or girlfriend. I overheard her say "i'm soooooo fat" While she talked I noticed her man was checking me out... So I wondered i guess shes fatter than I am?... When I saw her come out she was about a size 4 or 6. I found myself amazed. Thats when I realized that men like all shapes and sizes, and most of all our personalities. I am lucky that I found a groom that loves me for who I am, and I am hoping to give him a gift that he doesn't even know he desires.. ps: I also want to be a skinny bride and with curves...

| Wow, girls! Calm down a little. I don't think BUCKTONF meant "sick and emaciated" when she said "skinny brides." I think the spirit of her post was that we should support each other in our goals, so we can feel our very best on our wedding day! This is our day and we deserve to feel our best. You can feel "skinny" or "sexy" or "curvy," however you like to describe yourself, without being "emaciated" or "slutty" or "chunky." Give her a break! We're all in this together, whatever our goals may be.

| I think that's what's wrong with society (well..one of the things that's wrong anyway....). It's always ok for someone to be too thin and unhealthy, but too heavy and HEALTHY is NOT ok. What's up with that?? I think the idea weight for me is about 150, which is 10 lbs over what i'm "supposed" to weigh, but I looked curvy, healthy and good at that weight!

|
| I'll tell you what. I'd do anything to have someone look at me and go, jeez she's really skinny. Even if they were disgusted. I'd rather be too thin than a fat bride.

| I used to be really skinny and had to wear layers to fill out my clothes. Once I got into my 20's I started gaining. I would NEVER want to be thin like that again. It;s good to feel healthy and strong instead of starving and weak.

| I had rather be in shape -not round :) than be skinny. I've never been "skinny" and would look odd and probably malnutritioned if I were skinny.
|
|
|
|
| I don't want to be "skinny" either. I understand about wanting to be "skinny," but I'd rather be fit and toned. I've got 53 days until my wedding and only 8 days left to try my dress on for the last time before it's shipped to the town I'm getting married in. Pressure!!
