| Hey there-- I am a 2009 bride too-- our date is June 6, 2009. We've been engaged since May 2006. We have the location picked out and have a downpayment on the facility for the date, but just are presently working out all of the details. I plan to start shopping for dresses in the fall once I have been able to make more progress.

I already have my dress but need to go down a dress size to fit. I also have the bridesmaids dresses and church booked. Havn't done much else, though

| We're getting married on August 1st, 2009. We just got engaged on New Year's Eve so we're not too far along in planning (so far we have the date and a couple of venues in mind). But I'm going to my first wedding show in February and I'm hoping to get tons of ideas there. Though really I have no idea where to even start!

| It isnt set in stone yet but March 14, 2009 is our date. March 13 is a very special day for us but didnt want to have our wedding on a weekday. So that is the day we picked. I've already lost 5 lbs and I am so excited. I hope all of you are sticking to your goals and doing well.

| I too am getting married in March 09. I just quit drinking soda cold turkey and I am going to quit smoking and I'm dieting as well. I am going to take it one step and a time. The hardest thing is going to be getting off the cigarettes. I've tried so many times and so just keep your head up and if you need someone who has some things in common with you. | Hey everyone! I am also a 2009 bride. I am so excited! We picked the date 09-09-09 we are having trouble with the day though, its on a Wednesday. We are secretly hoping that will help with costs though. We know we want to get married on the beach. We both LOVE the beach. we live in Florida, so that shouldn't be a problem. The only thing we have is my wedding band because it came as a set with my engagement ring. I am already so overwhelmed I don't know where to start with planning. I REALLY want to look for a wedding dress, but I won't allow myself to until I lose the weight. I am joining a gym this week so I should get some motivation from that (no more excuses to not run because of bad weather). Does anyone have any ideas for colors? I up for any suggestions!

I'm a 2009 bride as well. I'm hoping for June 27, 2009, just need to book a site to set it in stone. I've done a lot of the "detail" planning, but I have to wait until April this year to book the ceremony and reception sites (we live in S Fl and will be married in Chicago).

Hello everyone and congratulations! I got in engaged in June 2007, and we are getting married June 19, 2009. We have already chose the place for the reception, and a BEAUTIFUL garden for the ceremony. I already have my dress too! I have a lot done already, so now it is ME time, and I am trying to lose some weight. I will be thrilled to downsize the dress, and be happy to spend the extra on the alterations. I hope we all keep in touch, and we can share wedding pictures!!!!

Congrats on getting your degree in education...what do you want to teach? I also graduate this spring in May with a degree in early childhood! Right now I am a nanny but after next year all the kids will be in school so I think I will have to find a job teaching pre-school or elementary school!

I am getting married March of 2009. I just quit smoking and I am nervous that I will gain weight. So I joined Spark people yesterday and I'm looking forward to loosing instead of gaining.

Hello Everyone! I got engaged June 2007 but my Uncle is getting married this summer so we are shooting for Summer of 2009...or we are also looking into destination weddings and if we go that route we will be getting married winter 2009! I am so excited! There is so much to do but I want to pick a place or destination first and then hopefully by that time I will be closer to my goal weight so I can find a wedding dress!!! I don't even want to look until I loose some more weight! I had been procrastinating on loosing weight since I felt like I had so much time! but now my uncles wedding is right around the corner and I want to look good for that too! SO I figured I need to start NOW!

Hi everyone! We're planning on a May/June 2009 wedding. I made the mistake of going to a bridal show a couple of weeks ago after just having gotten engaged over the holidays - and by the end of the day, I was SO overwhelmed. There is SO mcuh to do! I know it will be fun, but I just can't let myself think of more than one or two things at once or I'll get completely overwhelmed!! If anyone has any feedback on colors, that'd be great! For that time of year, we were thinking maybe shades of purple, with white and silver accents. We too are having a civil ceremony - we're searching for a place on the water (we live in western ny, so there's plenty around!). That's really the only decision we've made so far :-P

| That's not funny lol! I have had my dress for almost a year now! I am an impatient person when it comes to something I have wanted for a while! I am hoping though that I will have to get it sized down, it will be worth every penny! I tried on the dress I wanted and I ended up leaving with a completely different dress lol.

| i'm getting married in 2009. June 7th, 2009. That gives me plentyyyy of time to plan the wedding, and of course lose all of this extra baggage. Of course, I already know what wedding dress I want lol. I've known since the last September. A little sad I know, but once I saw it...I just knew it was the one I wanted. The thing is, it wouldn't look good on me right now.

I'm a 2009 bride as well. Oct 2nd 2009! We got engaged Feb 10, 2007 (see why we chose the date? Engaged 2/10, married 10/2. Cheesy, I know). We have so much planned already. Now I got to just look really good for when I get my dress made!
I have been looking at places like theknot for suggestions on vendors. But most things aren't applying since we are having a medieval themed wedding. We are doing a lot of DIY stuff too.

Hey i'm a 2009 bride! feels weird to write that!
we got engaged on boxing day. we're debating about having it may long weekend (canada) because we have quite a few out of towners that will be invited, or else June 20th because that would be our 3 year anniversary.
we are going to a bridal fair this weekend. i'm so excited to start planning, but i agree with everyone that it's so overwhelming, espeically the costs involved.
i've been spending lots of time on weddingbells.ca and theknot.com if anyones interested. they help with budget planning and ideas.

Hi everyone! We just got engaged before Christmas.. on his birthday! We are planning for summer 2009 - tentatively June 6, 2009 if we can get a site we love for that day. I also went to the bookstore soon after we got engaged and had to resist buy everything! There is so much to look at! I did end up getting a binder type book. Looking back, I wish I were more patient so I could make my own. I also got my fiance a small funny/informative book for the groom.
There is so much to plan, I'm already having trouble sleeping - whihc is silly! I just can't stop thinking about it apparently!
I am also trying hard to drop at least 10 pounds before I even think about dress shopping!

Ive been engaged since March, but have just set a date just before xmas!
Ive picked my maid of honour and my bridesmaids, had to really they were all asking lol, so im keeping it simple with sisters only! But still thats 4 and a flower girl!
I have just got a nice notepad with seperators already put inside and some plastic wallets for my wedding planner book, and i put clippings, websites any ideas in it, i carry that round with me instead of my actual wedding planner binder i got as a present, cos you can add things rather then just writing in it!

We don't have a Barnes & Noble in Canada...but it's kinda like Chapters, which is a huge bookstore with a large selection! I went to look at their wedding planners too...but they are all so different! I couldn't make up my mind which one i wanted!! lol. So I thought I'd just do one myself and personalize it. besides, the ones I saw were all book-like. You can't add your own pages or anything. That's why I want a nice looking binder...so if you make a mistake, just take out that page and replace it! :) Plus I can add my own inserts and decide what I want in it. Plus those planners can get expensive! Any place I can save money, I will! :)
I haven't selected a maid of honor yet! How long had everyone been engaged?? I've been engaged for about 2 weeks! :D

| We have a lot in common, Carmie! I, too, was thinking of making my own planner. I went to Barnes and Noble last week to look for one, and I was so overwhelmed with the choices. I ended up leaving empty-handed. I also am leaning towards a smaller budgeted event, and I would like to have the reception outside. The only planning I've done so far is those few ideas. LOL! I've also picked my Matron of Honor and started on the guestlist.

That's all I've been thinking about! Plans!! lol. I went out to the book store and was reading about weddings, like destination weddings, etc. I think I'm going to make my own wedding planner...with a binder and some folders, decorated really nice. It's the only way I can keep my ideas, price quotes, pictures, etc. organized! Do you have something like that? I'm excited to get started! :)
I've put together a tentative wedding list, about 50 people for both the ceremony and the reception. I don't want to get married in a church either. I want an outdoor wedding, somewhere nice but within my budget (which isn't that much!!!) I'd rather have a small budgeted wedding and same money for a nice house.
Candi: Do you have any planning done? You're one step ahead of me! I haven't been to any bridal shows, but it's a good idea...I'm going to see if there's any in my area.

Lots of plans since he proposed, i never thought id be a bride, but now, thats all i think about lol! We're going to have about 60 guests close family and friends, in a nice place (not quite decided where yet, until Friday hopefully lol) But i want it to be a traditional place with character, were going for a civil wedding instead of a church wedding, cos we both work shifts we cant make church :(

I know weddings are so expensive!!! I've started to do my research already and it's brutal!!! I think I want a small wedding though. Small ceremony and a slightly larger reception. Have you already had a lot planned? I have nothing planned!!!!
Oooo, shopping! That's the best part of weddings!! lol. Oh, and sampling yummy cakes (small pieces of course!)! lol.
