Well January is a popular month for weddings! I am officially 57 days out, had my first official dress fitting - and aren't I glad - the dress fits! I can even fit a bra underneath (which was an unknown when I bought the dress). I am losing weight at about 1 pound a week, but I'm counting myself lucky - I'm losing! I figure if I keep on doing the little things that I'm doing that work (try to have a salad for a meal every day, drink my 8+ glasses of water every day), I'll get to my goal weight eventually. And if I REALLY focus, I'll be able to feel good in a swimsuit on my honeymoon! I've had two shots of espresson in my coffee, it's Friday, and I'm feeling great ;O) I hope you guys are all having a great day and getting the support you need!

Hi, I'm a 19th of January 2008 Bride. Just under 6 months to go now.
Your fiancee sounds like mine. I told him I would look like a giant blimp on the day if I didn't lose weight. And he said I would be HIS blimp. It is rather hard having a fiancee like that who eats 3 times as much as I do, and never gains anything.
Anyway, If you still need a buddy I can help. Take care, Dawn

Hi Lalarain,
I'm also getting married (September 15, 2007) in Portland Oregon. My focus is to lose weight by learning healthy lifestyle skills, so that I can have a successful pregnancy (someday) and be able to teach my kids healthy eating habits too (someday ;o)! And so that I don't just balloon up after the wedding! Hope you are having a great day and finding success with your diet!

Hi there! I am getting married January 5, 2008 in Galveston, Texas. I originally joined SparkPeople back in February, when I first got engaged - it lasted a week, I think. Now, with six months to go, I have actually gained weight, and my dress has come in, and doesn't fit anymore! So, I have revised my goal, and have decided to go the slow and steady route - a pound a week will equal 35 pounds lost by the wedding, my dress will fit perfectly, and I'll be a lot healthier. I'll still have about 25 more pounds to lose after that point, but I'll tackle that then.
What I need is someone to help keep me accountable, to check in with preferably daily, who is looking at a goal at least as long term than mine. My finace is great, and loves me just the way I am - and doesn't understand when I say we shouldn't go out for ice cream after dinner! I need someone, or a group, to give me support, and I will gladly provide the same.
