Wow! I came over here looking for posts on exactly this topic.
My husband and I got married on October 21st last year which just happened to be in the middle of midterms so we went to a Dar Williams concert as our "Mini-Moon" and then back to school on Monday.
Now I've been in Oregon all summer while he's been in Germany and Buffalo but he's flying out to drive back home with me so we've come up with a lot of plans and things to do, places to see to the extent that I think we have to call it our official honeymoon.
August 2nd he'll arrive in Seattle so we're staying in a bed and breakfast for 2 nights then driving down to Portland via St. Helens to spend the night in a youth hostel (not super romantic, but fun and cheap!) go contra dancing and then the next day go out on the river on a jet boat tour, get custom fit running shoes, see the body worlds exhibit and go to a fun restaurant.
Then I have to finish my last 3 days of my internship so we'll take a break and stay with the family I've been living with this summer. But then it's time to really hit the road....
Thursday - Drive down to Crater Lake from dawn til dusk and spend the night in a nearby B&B Friday - Starting at Coos Bay drive up the coast and do a spectacular 7 mile hike stopping at Lincoln City in a hotel. Saturday - Do a really nice 5 mile hike and either go all the way up to Astoria or back to Portland for more dancing (depending on weather) then drive all night. Sunday - Spend the day in Vancouver, Canada then drive all night. Monday - Spend the day in Jasper National Park and drive down the first 1/3 of the Ice Pass Highway to spend the night in a rustic cabin youth hostel. Tuesday - Finish the highway going through Banff and Lake Louise then drive to Calgary for a late night pub meal before heading toward the border. Wednesday - Drive along Going to the Sun Road in Glacier National Park and then on to Yellowstone until dark. Then drive all night. Thursday - Mt Rushmore as early as possible then drive east to hit Wall Drug and the Badlands and anything else that strikes our fancy in South Dakota. Drive all night. Friday - Milwaukee, WI to drink some beer and recharge in a hotel for the night. They're having an Irish festival that weekend so if we're not totally zonked we'll go to that. SLEEP! Saturday - Frank Lloyd Wright related activities in the Chicago area and then whatever else we can fit in unitl approximately 10pm. Then drive all night Sunday - Drive back to our hometown in Upstate NY to pick up the dog and go to a high school friends annual picnic at the lake. Then back home to Buffalo to sleep as much as possible before school starts on Monday!
I'm soooo excited. I know it's kind of tough to alternate drivers through the night...and friend and I did it on the way over here...but you get to see so much and really make the most out of every day. It's not a typical relaxing honeymoon but I know we'll have tons and tons of memories and a bunch of places to plan to go back to visit later on and when we have a family.

| My hubby and I ran out of money so we had to postpone owr honeymoon and his work wouldn't let him have to time off and they know 4 month a head of time.

Thank you:) I'm doing my best Hehe i didn't postponed the honeymoon b/c of my size, i was within a healthy range on my wedding day, but b/c of our hectic schedules!:)

and if you won't? won't your hubby be disappointed? i'm not saying you won't get to a certain goal but there is always that question
time left til honeymoon: 2 days!

WooHoo you have all the time in the world to prepare for the Hawaii Honeymoon!:) see this is another great reason for "delayed" honeymoons: looking better in bathing suits!:)

| My husband and I eloped last July 4. Since we didn't plan a wedding, we surely didn't have a honeymoon set. We are finally going to be taking a honeymoon in October, a year and a half later. We are going to go to Hawaii for a week. I can't wait, and hope to look great in a bathing suit by then!

Now that is just AWESOME! Kill 2 birds with one stone!:) He
well, part of the reason we didn't go to a mountain resort was that the winter season just started when we got married so they prices were a bit too much...after paying for the wedding ourselves LOL:))
I just talked to my boss and i've got my vacation starting Jun 28 to Aug 16 :) Yey he was super nice at the time of the wedding. I had a vacation since Oct 15 til Nov 15 and i got the money as by the contract :) lovely boss, he?

| Nothing wrong with a delayed honeymoon! =) We wanted to go to a resort in Jamaica for our honeymoon, which will be the first week in January. We found out that it's the #1 most expensive time of year to go, and we could save over $2000 by postponing it for a few months! So we are going to plan a honeymoon in Jamaica for later in the year, and take the money we save and go to Disney World in January- which is their cheapest time of year. So yep- TWO HONEYMOONS!!! =D I'm super excited!!! =) =) =)

| My DH and I got married by the Justice of the Peace July 2. We didn't have the money to have the wedding that we really wanted, but wanted to go ahead and get married. We met this past February so we plan to have a ceremony in February '08 to reaffirm our wedding vows and would like to go on a cruise if our budget allows. As long as we can get away for a few days, I really don't care where we go. I just love him so much!!!

| We're getting married in November this year, and we have a 6 year old who'll have to be back in school on monday! So we're going to spend a few days in the mountains with family & friends. I think that for a honeymoon/christmas present we might take our son to disney world!

when we got married, we wanted to go to a mountain resort. but my DH's boss phoned him 1 week into his "honeymoon leave" that he has to go back to work...ick! i still hate that guy!!! so we didn't go anywhere...
now that school is over and we have some money saved...we can go!:)
| I have thought of postponing it until our first yr anniversary...but we havent even set the date for the wedding yet, so I will have to wait and see!
| wooohooo we sure deserve to have fun in our honeymoons no matter when they take place!:))
| Because we're getting married at a time when my fiance has a very busy schedule (girls basketball coach for community college) we are only taking a few days off after the wedding to go to San Diego. Next year will be our real honeymoon. We're going to Brazil in August for 2 weeks, visit family for 3 days then it's off to Rio and Bahia! Yay!
| We are going to go on our honeymoon at a later time too. We have 3 small children which my mom said she would watch for us but my hubby started a new job just before we got married so he didn't have any extra time off so I am not sure when we will make time for our honeymoon but We will be going on one between now and forever!!
| We are planning to delay our honeymoon until our first year anniversary... mostly because the wedding itself is expensive enough. It gives us something to look forward to after the big day... we are planning to go on a cruise, and don't want to be stressed about money.

yup, we got married Nov 4, 2006 and b/c i don't like winter and both of us were super busy back then...well, we decided to postpone our honeymoon (well, our live is a continuous honeymoon but...we need an "official" one).
anyway...i was 136 lbs on our wedding day and now i'm 129.2 lbs...the honeymoon will be Aug 1-15 and i'm super glad i'm thinner than i was on my wedding day ;)
anyone else going on delayed honeymoons?:)
