| I know wedding dress can be taken in up to two sizes so I can only imagine the same for bridesmaids dresses. Order the size you are now with plans for alterations later. If there is a significant multiple size change then many places have a policy that you can exchange sizes in same dress as long as no alterations have been made. But she's definitely on the right timeline for this

| First stop worrying. Second, 6 months is fine. Get it in your current size as the dress can get taken in. If you get a smaller size you cant make it bigger. The bride probably just wants to get this 'job' ticked off of her to-do list. Speaking from experience. X

Yes fashions can change that quickly, but more importantly colors change that quickly. Each season new colors come out, and not all of last season's colors return...
My bridesmaids ordered their dresses 6 months in advance and they haven't had any problems. They all got their dresses altered and it was okay.

| I would order your current size, and then about a month before the wedding, take it in to be altered. A lot can happen between now and then, and if for some reason you don't lose as much weight as you're planning to by December, you won't be stuck with a dress that doesn't fit!

I'm not a bride, but I'll be a bridesmaid in a wedding at the end of December. I was talking to the bride on the phone the other day and she mentioned that we need to take my measurements soon to order my dress.
Is it typical to order bridesmaid's dresses over 6 months in advance? I'm guessing she's worried about the availability? Do fashions change THAT quickly?
Anyway, I'm guessing my size will change pretty dramatically between now and then. Do I order my current size and just got a LOT of alterations done? Do I order a size or two smaller? Help!
