| Reading this message thread made me recommitt myself to really quitting. I've been telling myself for about 3 days now that today is the day I smoke my last cigarette. I had quit for 4 months and started smoking again in May, thanks to job and wedding stress. I'm trying to keep myslef motivated by exercising and using exercise as a replacement stress manager for the smoking, but it's tough. Also, my fiance smokes like a chimney. His mom said she wants to quit before our wedding in October, and when I mentioned that to my fiance, he said, yeah, that would be a good idea. .. the but was unspoken. He's not too motivated. . .

| Congrats on your decision to quit smoking! :) Wont it be nice to not have to think about and smell like cigarettes on your wedding day?! I made that decision 82 days ago and I've never felt better! If you need some extra support www.quitnet.com is a great site and Alan Carr's book called "The Easyway" was also a huge help for me.

Congratulations to you on quitting smoking! It's the greatest gift you will ever give yourself. I know it's a daily struggle...I've done it myself.
Personally, I've always been a big fan of journaling. When I would feel like I was going to cave, I would start writing about what ever was stressing me out instead of reaching for the lighter.
Some days are easier than others - but you can do it and you will feel so much better for it in the end.
Hang in there and don't be hard on yourself through the process. I know they say to be accountable for it and tell everyone you plan to quit but I didn't do that. I just woke up one morning and decided that I needed a new coping mechanism that wouldn't take years off my life. I wanted to be proud of "me"...so I started one day at a time and before I knew it weeks had passed. I told my family and parents about 2 months after I had already stopped...that I had quit.
I wish you the best of luck and I look forward to hearing about your success in reaching this goal.
Be well, Kelly
