Hey there!
I'm getting married on June 19th, 2008 in Hawaii.
Plans are coming along. We are going to be making our own invitations for the reception so we need to start working on creating those.
Also more planning for the decorations at the reception. We have bought 12 light up palm trees and have our centerpieces which will be glass bowls with sand, blue/green marble rocks, silver marble rocks and a candle in the middle.
Need to look at song selections for the dances. We're also doing karaoke at our reception, that should be fun!
Still lots to do, but all little odds and ends just need to get started on them to be complete! It will be here before we know it!

Hey I am getting married June 14 to. I was doing well on my excersize program and then I tore a muscle in my shoulder and gained all the weight back. I can do some excersize now but not a lot.
Those of you loosing inches instead of pounds remember inches are better to loose anyway, muscle weighs more than fat and you are reshaping your body which is good.

I'm getting married June 29th. I just joined. I've got a lot of weight to lose. I started Curves in November but because of work/Christmas I have only lost one pound, but 8". My enemy is food and because of it I weigh more than I ever have.

I'm getting married June 7, 2008.

The plans are going well. We've decided on all of the big stuff so far: dress, cake, caterer, band, venues, etc. I'm so excited!

Hi everyone!!
Another June 14th bride here
I have just joined the site and I am loving it so far. I have been doing well with my plan but I am hoping to meet some others to keep ourselves motivated and have some accountability.
I am about 60% completed on the wedding planning. I had pushed all the preparations out of my head to get through a busy holiday season. But it's back in full force now.
And yes.. we're both having the wedding nightmares. On Sunday I woke from a dream that the dress didn't fit.
The reality is I haven't even shopped for my dress yet as I couldn't stand the thought of trying them on at this size
So I am hoping to lose apprx. 40 pounds in a little over 5 months... however any weight loss and getting healthier will make me happy.
Can't wait to get to know you all. I am so glad to have found this forum!

Hi all! I'm getting married June 14 and am starting to panic about all I still need to get done. I even dreamed last night that we had to get married "that day" and nothing was done!

Hello all! Well, I didn't make my goal of only 2 Halloween treats. I had some candy for my niece and nephews who I thought were going to stop by, but they didn't so of course I had to eat their candy! But, it didn't affect me too bad. I still lost weight!

Anyway, I know what you mean about stress! I don't know why wedding planning has to be so stressful! It should be fun! But sadly, that's not the case. I don't have a whole lot left to do, but the little things I do have left weigh heavily on my mind. I would love to just take a weekend and get all of it done, but school is so busy right now. Hopefully I can get some done on Thanksgiving break.

I hope you all are doing good! Talk to you later!

Hello there! my wedding is 6/7/08 and I am trying to focus on losing weight for the wedding. Which is hard, I eat when I am stressed! Although I should not be stressed, I have almost everything done! Anyways, I am currently in a "greed diet" challenge with some friends of mine (6% loss in 6 weeks is the goal) and have been doing ok so far. I would like some support with exercise... I have a desk job, and need to get active!

Hey Jaime! It's so nice to talk to you again! I feel like we are going thru the exact same thing... I've also been struggling with 5 pounds and decided to get serious again this week! So we can definitely do this! I'm so glad you got your dress paid off! That's so exciting! My dress comes in December and I can't wait.

So if we all want to do a challenge this week, I think it should have something to do with Halloween candy. I don't know about you, but I'm going to have a hard time saying no, especially since I am working with kindergartners that day and there will be candy everywhere! So I'm going to try to only have 2 pieces of candy on Halloween. We'll see how that goes! :)

Talk to you soon!

My name is Amy. I am a June 28th bride. My Fiance and I are actually all done with the planning. I even have my dress but I am holding off for the fittings until I lose the weight. All we really need to do is order invitations and figure out what we are going to do for favors and of course the tuxes for the boys.

Hi everyone,

Wow it has been a long time.

Sarah,
How have you been? I missed you. Well I finally got the wedding dress paid off, so now it is officially mine. :) Also the hotels for the honeymoon and wedding night. It is all comming together. The only thing that is not is my weight. I have been bouncing around with these same five pounds up and down for the last few months. I so want to reach my goals. I am holding off on the dress fittings until after the begining of the year. Well I am back on track now. Just started getting serious again this week. I can do this. Anyway, how have you been? I hope things are going well for you.

Welcome to everyone else. Maybe some of us can start posting everyday and do little challenges. You know like an accountability partner. You want to workout because you know they are and you do not want to let them down. It would really help me. And we could do the same thing with food challenges. Some examples would be to do 100 leg lifts, or an exercise video, or to not eat any sweets, or to not eat three hours before bed. Anyway, I thought it would be neat and it would really help. Also we could talk about the weddings. :)

Talk to you all later. Hope you are all having a great day.

Jaime

Hello! I'm glad you both have joined! I love Spark people...there's nothing like trying on wedding dresses that makes you want to look and feel better! At least for me, that was the turning point. I've been on here since March and I've lost almost 30 pounds! I hope you like the site and use it as much as I do because I really do think it's helpful!

I also am a huge planner and have everything very organized! I don't think that it's a bad thing! And I also don't think that Friday the 13th is bad luck...maybe you could even make your rehearsal dinner a scary theme! Ok, that might be corny, but whatever works!

Talk to you all later!

I'm a Flag Day 08 bride...aka June 14. Only 234 days away. I really am going to the chapel to get married. It's very cute and was built in 1878. I just realized that our rehearsal was going to on Friday the 13th. Is that bad? Oh well, we're not really very superstitious, but we are patriotic. So we were really excited to get Flag Day. Good luck to all you brides and grooms with your weight loss/wellness goal.

Hello! Another June bride here. (06/07/08). I'm new to sparkpeople but this is exactly what I need, as am trying very hard to lose 30 pounds by wedding day! Wish me luck. So far things are on track - big stuff done (venue, minister, DJ, Photographer, Flowers, Have my Dress (yay), I've drafted the programs and seating charts based on ALL who are invited, so will just have to trim it down once we get the RSVPs back. (yes..I'm a bit of an organizer!) Glad to be part of this with all of you!

Hi Sarah,
Sorry it has been so long. My stupid computer was acting up and then we left on vacation. Boy am I glad to be back. :)

Wow Jamaca. I am so happy for you. I love flying. Well correction, I love flying the plane. I have never actually been on a big plane. However, for our anniversary last year Bill got me a flying leason. It was a little two engine plane but I loved it. The instructor let me take off and everything. The only thing I couldn't do was land. :)

Well I have not lost but I did not gain either. For vacation that is an accomplishment. :)

The biggest loser club's new season starts in sept. and I am counting on that to kick my but in gear and help me lose these last twelve pounds. I know I sould just get off my hiney and do it myself but things are still hectic for me and I am happy just maintaing for the next few weeks.

Did I tell you that I baught that dress? Well I am paying on it. My last payment will be in Nov. I am so excited. I cannot believe that it is only ten months away. Time flys. wedding plans are on hold right now until after the holidays are all over and the new year has started. That will give me six months to finish up the little things. I am so glad I have most of it figured out.

Well I have chatted your ear off enough I will talk to you later. Hope all is well with you and congrats on getting into the 120's!!!!! Way to go. :)

Hey Jaime,

Sorry I've been MIA for a while. Unfortunately I've been busy getting ready for school. I really don't want to go back. But it just means I'm closer to being completely done!

My weight loss is finally back on track. I am officially in the 120's now! Woo-hoo! None of my clothes fit me, though! And I'm not going to buy any until I reach my goal. So I've been wearing pajama shorts and t-shirts everyday! Oh well...just a little bit more!

I booked our honeymoon yesterday. Instead of a cruise, we are going to Jamaica for a week. I'm kind of nervous about it. We are staying at the Sandals resort in Ocho Rios. I hope it's nice. I've read some reviews that say it needs some updates, but the lady I talked to at Sandals said the whole resort has had renovations in the last couple of years. I guess it's better than Iowa though! We leave the week after our wedding. I'm also scared to death of flying so we'll see how that goes. I'm already nervous about it.

Anyway, enough about me... How is everything going with you? I hope you haven't had to work anymore crazy shifts!

Talk to you soon!

Hi Sarah,
I know what you mean about nights being hard. Have you tried a healthy snack? About three hours before bed. I found it helped. I liked low fat pudding with a dollop of low fat whip cream. or a fudgcicle from healthy choice on those rare days I craved a little chocolate. Also fruit or jello with a dollop of low fat cool whip. mmm the fruit turns into a mini fruit salad. Very satisfying. Well hope these help. And you are right taking a walk does help. :)

My biggest problem lately is that I grab what food I can either because I am to busy or to tired. I just really need to try harder.

I have started throwing in some exercise during the day. Need to work on that again. LOL It is almost funny how easy (and quickly) we can slip back into our old routines. Well at least I am maintaining and not gaining. Still this last ten pounds (and 3-4 inches around my waist) have got to go. Wish they would take the hint. :)

Well speaking of going I better run or I will be late for work. Talk to you later. Great job on last night. Hang in there we can do this. :)

Hi Jaime,

That's great news about the coupon! Yeah for saving money!!!

I love that you are getting the corset back added to your dress! Mine has that and I think it looks so pretty, and just like you said, it can be adjusted. My dress comes in around Christmas time and I'm so excited to see it. The one they had in the store was a little too big so I can't wait to see what it looks like when it fits perfectly!

So I did wonderfully yesterday on eating and exercising. Nights are my worst because I get bored so I eat, so last night I kept myself busy. We went for a ride in our '65 Mustang, then I cleaned our apartment, and then I took a walk. And when I weighed myself this morning, I lost over a pound! Woo-hoo!

Anyway, I'll let you go. Talk to you soon!

Hi Sarah,
That is great that you are so close. :) Go ahead and post away, anyway I can help I am glad to do it. I know what you mean about being so close. I have a big incentive though with my dress. It is a size to small (to get the discount I had to take the dress size they had in) which works out good. I am going to have it altered so that it laces up the back. This way it will show off my back and it will be adjustable so if I gain or lose five pounds prior to the wedding it will still fit perfectly. Still I want to get down to my goal before I get to the seamstress and have her do the alterations. So I have until the first part of next year to whip myself into shape.

Oh hay I got a great deal when I bought my dress. They had a coupon in there for two free nights at a hotel and one of the cities they do this in is orlando around disney world! It is good for up to $400 So that will save us a bit of money. :) You are right the plane tickets are the worse!

Ok well I am going to hop off I will talk to you later. Good luck today. :)

Hi Jaime,

I went through my to-do list for the wedding and I really don't have that much more to do. I'm waiting for ribbon to go on sale and then I can re-do my favors and unity candle. Then I will be all set. I also have to re-do 2 more bridesmaid bouquets, but that only takes a few minutes each. I just have to get my butt to Hobby Lobby to exchange the pink flowers for white. So I am feeling much better about this whole thing.

So my weight loss is not going good. I've got to get back on track. I'm at 133. I want to be at 125. I'm so freakin' close, but I can't shake this plateau I'm on. It's so hot out I haven't been taking walks like I used to. And I've been eating pretty bad lately. So here is my idea... I'm going to post what I eat everyday and how much I exercise. Then maybe I'll focus more on staying on track because I'll feel bad if I have to tell you all the chocolate (or whatever!) I ate.

Here is my plan for today:
I ate some no-sugar applesauce at 9:30 this morning. For lunch I plan on eating some SmartOnes mac and cheese. Then after lunch I plan on going on the eliptical machine for at least 20 mins and then lift some weights.

So I'll have to get on here tonight and see if I did as I want to. *sigh* I just want to get back on track. It's getting really frustrating!

I hope you can get a good deal on plane tickets! Whenever I price look, those are usually the most expensive part of the whole trip! I'm sure you'll get a better deal since you're looking so far in advance.

Have a great day!
Sarah

Hi Sarah,
Wow that is crazy! :) But it is your wedding and if you want to change the color that is your porogative. I am glad you are more happy with it now, I am just sorry you went to all that work on the invitations for nothing.

It is funny about the hotel. I had planned on us just staying at disney world and then changing to a cheaper hotel for the rest of our stay. So that was what I was doing. Looking for a hotel around sea world. And I stumbled accross it. To be honest I was just price looking not really serious looking. Still you are right it is a great deal. I just hope we can find one just as good for the plane tickets. Sheesh talk about expensive!

I really need to get with this weight loss thing. :) The dress looks good on me know but I want it to look fantastic! :)

Ok well I will talk to you later. Hope you are having a great day.

Hey Jaime,

Yikes!! That's a lot of work! I'm glad you made it through!

That's so exciting you are going to get that dress! I'm sure you can add green details to your wedding to make up for not having it in your dress.

Speaking of green... I decided to change my color scheme! I'm so crazy! I just didn't feel right about the dark blue and silver. I felt like it was more prom than wedding. So my new colors are white and black with accents of green (like grass green). I feel so much better about it. The only thing that is really bad about this is the invitations...I have to get new ones! But I found some that I absolutely love so I'm just going to suck it up and pay for them. Oh well! Everything else that I've bought I've been able to exchange and return for new colors. So it is working out okay!

That is such a great deal on the hotel! I'm hoping we get something that great for our cruise. I'm working with a travel agency and she tells me she can get some great deals since I called her so early in advance. We'll see though. I'm not too concerned about the price. My fiance and I have never really been anywhere (We've both been to Florida once) so we want to splurge and have some fun on our honeymoon. I'm excited, but it seems so far away!!!

I cannot believe that it is the middle of Aug already! Where did the summer go? I start school again on the 21st! Yikes, I am not ready to go back!

But I'll let you go. Talk to you soon!

Hi Sarah,
Sorry I have not posted. Things have been crazy. I went to work monday morning at 8 and was supposed to get off at 5 but then the evening shift did not show up, she had no one for night shift, and I was scheduled to work the next morning. I finally got off at 2pm on tuesday. I still cannot believe I worked 30 hrs in two days! Ah well at least it is over now. :)

So I think I am going to buy the dress in the store. It is so pretty and I like knowing what the dress is going to look like when it is all finished and what it looks like on me. Also I like the style better than the other one. So I guess the only big reason to have the other one would be the colors. I just didn't think that was enough. sigh I did try and get them to make me one in emerald and mint but they said they can't. :) go figure.

I found a great deal on the hotel. It is five days and four nights for only 249.00 and that includes admision into sea world and dinner with shamu. We can add extra days for 100 a night. SO all in all for the eight nights it would be 649.00 so about 81 a night. Not bad. :)

I think I am going to try and make the flower girl baskets as well. It doesn't look to hard. I know people make easter baskets. :)

That is great that you have started losing again! I am so happy for you. I gained last week but am down now. Of course it could be the stress who knows?

Hi Francis,
Welcome. Well here is where I am at. I have a dress picked out (as long as it is still there on the 15th). I have the place picked out, it comes with a package so the music, photographer, wedding bouqeut (sp), cake, officiating, and food are all figured out. I still have to pick a flavor for the cake, I may just go with a chocolate cake who knows. We are going to disneyworld for our honeymoon and I am trying to get that figured out. Also I am going to try and make the invitations, thank you cards, and flower girl baskets myself. LOL The more I think I am almost done the more I find needs to be done. Oh yeah I also found a site that sells freeze dried rose petals for the flower girls and for throwing when we leave. Also the limo service that we are going to use. Wow that seems like a lot when I have it all written out. How are you doing in your planing? Well it was nice to meet you. :)

Talk to you both later. Sorry for the novel. :)

Hello Everyone!
My name's Frances, I'm new again...We just picked our date for June 07, 2008! So excited! Our first kiss was 06/09/2002. I'm here trying to lose at least 50lbs more and hopefully 100lbs total! So far I'm down 40! Where are you guys as far as planning?

Hi,

I hope you had a good weekend. Chicago was fun. We ended up not even going downtown. We just hung out with my fiance's sister and their baby. It was nice to get away. We did go shopping at a mall nearby and I found a dress for our engagement pictures. It was regularly $60 and I got it for $10! Woo-hoo! And I found a crystal hair "thingy" to wear in my hair for the wedding.

I'm finally losing some weight again... I was stuck all last week at the same weight, but I weighed myself this morning and I lost 0.6 so that's good. How are you doing?

I have to run, though. Talk to you soon!!

Hey Jaime!

That's so exciting that you went and tried on dresses and then you found one! I really don't know what to tell you, though...having yours made would make it extra special and nobody else would have one like it. And I love the emerald/mint green combination! But, on the other hand, $1,000 is a pretty good deal for all that! I'm sorry I'm no help! Would you feel more "bride-ish" in a white dress? I just love the thought of a green dress!... *sigh* I'm no help at all! I'm just sitting here going back and forth.

But I have to go home and pack for our trip. I ended up being extrememly busy today at work so I'm running very behind. Usually I only work until 12:30, but today I'm not getting out of here until 3:30. I guess it always works that way... the one day I actually have stuff to do, I have to stay late!

Talk to you later!!

Hey Sarah,
I know you have not read my last post but I just had to share. I ended up going to the mall last night and they have a wedding gown shop in the mall. So I tried on some gowns. I was origionally just trying to find one simular to the one I want so I could see if I looked good in that style. Not knowing what I was going to look like had me a little worried. I was concerned that I would go through all the trouble and either not like it or have the dress be wrong. But I was saving money and they gal who was going to make my dress is one of my best friends mother in law. However I found this dress....it is so pretty. And they do a layaway option and payment plans. It is of course not emerald but it is still very pretty. It is cream and silver with rhinestones and crystals. Maybe I can find a pic for you. Anyway, now I do not know what to do. Do I still have her make the dress. Of course we still have not gone to look at fabric. Or do I buy this one? Right now it is on sale so the whole thing with the dress, corset, and skirt will come to just under 1,000 with tax. Still that is not bad. And they will do free steaming, give me a free cloth gown bag, and free storage. I just don't know what to do. The idea of having and emerald gown was very appealing, however this dress is also very nice. Any thoughts?

Ok I have to run I just had to share. :) Talk to you later.

Hi Sarah,
Of course you do not bore me. I really look forward to seeing your post. I also appreciate all the help you have given me, not only with the wedding but in my life as well. It is so nice to be going through the same thing. :)

I want to get all the wedding stuff done now. I am so excitted. I cannot wait for June to get here. I just have to keep reminind myself that it will be here before I know it.

I hope we continue to chat even after the wedding. It is kinda like having a modern day pen pal and I really enjoy it. :)

Oops I have to go change the weight, last time I weighed I was at 150. Of course I have gained this week. Hmmm I think I will leave it until I weigh in again. I thought it would be nice to get down to 130 (that is what I weighed in high school) but Bill is already saying I am getting to skinny. Hmmm love is blind. :) Still if I can get toned up I think I would be really comfortable at 140. I cannot believe that when I first started to lose weight I weighed 180 So I have already lost 30 pounds. I did not realize how much that was until I lost it. I feel much better now but I know what you mean about being frusterated. Well since it is a new month lets have a little goal....say to lose 2 pounds (and keep it off) by the end of the month? I know it does not sound like much but when we are as close as we are those little goals really make a difference. :)

Thank you so much for the compliment, both about my horse and me. :)

I want to go try on wedding dresses. Since I am having one made I am kinda missing out on that. Also I want to see if I can find one in a simular style so I can see if I look as good as I think I will before I have it made. It is really difficult though as no one in my family knows so I cannot just go and try the dresses on with my kids there. I will have to find some time. Hopefully this weekend. :)

I hope you have fun with your honey, that sounds like a fun. I love museums! My honey loves the ones that have to do with past wars and presidents and stuff. He can go on and on. He is one of those people who retain useless information. :)

Well I have talked your ear off so I will let you go. Hope you are having a great day. Talk to you later.

Hey Jaime,
I'm glad you got your picture up! Both the horse and you look gorgeous! :) I'll have to get a picture up of me sometime. Usually when I am on here I am on my work computer so I don't have any pictures. I'll have to remember sometime when I am on my own computer.

For your invitations, the kits I've seen in Michael's are just one piece of paper per invitation. And then they have the response card, too. If you go to this site, you can find the invitation you buy (or one similar to it) and download the template. Then all you have to do is type up the wording and print them out. That's what I did, and all my wording is perfectly centered on the invitation. All the margins and everything are taken care of. They also have templates for the envelopes, too, if you want to print out addresses on them instead of writing them all out!

So I have not lost any weight this week so far. But I haven't gained any either. I'm still just stuck at the 3 pounds that I've gained. Monday night we hung out with some friends and we were all starving so we went to IHOP. Then last night we went with my mom to look at the reception site again and we ended up getting Pizza Hut. I love Pizza Hut breadsticks so that wasn't a good idea! Then this afternoon I'm going shopping with a friend and then we'll probably go to the fair in town, so I doubt I'm going to eat good today. Ugg! It's so hard to be good!

My fiance and I have decided to go to Chicago for the weekend. We need a break from the "everyday." One of his sisters lives there so we are going to stay there. We are going to leave Thursday night and then spend all Friday in downtown Chicago. I don't know if you've ever been there, but they have the Magnificant Mile which is all shopping and museums and lots of stuff to do. It's a lot of fun and good exercise walking everywhere. But there is this awesome deep dish pizza that I LOVE so we'll have to get that sometime this weekend.

I hope I'm not boring you too much with my "trials and tribulations!" Haha! We're gonna get our heads back in this sooner or later... hopefully sooner so we can knock these last pounds off!!

Talk to you soon!

Hi Sarah,
Well I finally figured out how to get a pic up of myself. Now you can see what I look like. :) That is my horse Kiowa in the picture with me. Isn't he a beauty?

Thanks for all the comments. I love to see all your post. :) The idea about the wand things sound really pretty. That is great that you can make something for so little money. :)

I know what you mean about gaining weight back. I think this week I am going to have a gain. For some reason I cannot get my head into this. It makes me kinda worried, if I am like this now...what is going to happen when June gets here? Oh well we will survive. :)

I have been eating really bad and not exercising at all, it is no wonder I am not doing good. I will have to work on it.

Now I am excited to go to micheals. So ummm, after I buy the card how do I get the words on the paper? I figured the card would come together and so I am not sure how to do that. Any ideas?

Alright,
I am going to hop off I will talk to you later. Hope you are having a great day. :)

Hi Jaime!

For your honeymoon, I think it would still be fun for both of you to go to Disneyland. Since he is going there, he'll know where the good places are to go and where to stay away from. I think he's right...he'll have fun as long as he's with you! I went to Disneyland (or world... I don't remember the difference. The one in Florida haha!) and I thought it was a lot of fun. I'm not much for rides, but it was awesome just to be in the nice Florida weather and watch everything. I would definitely go back.

I understand why you are cutting out the butterflies. It would be very pretty, but I'm sure it's quite expensive. I just decided that I am going to make these little wand things for the "send-off" or whatever they call it. I'm just taking a little wooden stick (I found bags of them at Wal-Mart-75 of them for $2) and I'm going to have ribbon dangling from it. I'm just using regular curling ribbon, so I got a huge roll for $2. I saw this on a tv show and it looked really pretty.

I think you're invitations are going to be really easy to make. I'm positive Michael's or some craft store will have invitations that are kind of indented like these are... I don't know how to word it, but the outside border is more raised than the part with the writing. The invitations I've seen in the stores might be a little bigger than what you're looking for, but you might be able to make it work. Then with the green ribbon... just glue that on the back to make it stay put and you'll be all set... it's going to look so pretty! One of my friend's wants a green wedding when she gets married... she said she wants a lighter green and a darker green and I immediately thought of you!

I don't know if/how you should do directions. It might be nice for guests to have them, but since there aren't too many people, it might not be necessary for you to go through the trouble of making them. I guess it's up to you!

I'm sorry you're honey is gone for a whole week! That's a long time! And about the proposal... I'm sure it's on it's way.. He's probably just waiting for the perfect time!

My weight loss is not going good this week. I gained 3 pounds! So I have to work my butt off this week to get back those 3 pounds! It's so frustrating! I completely agree with you... these last pounds are SO hard!

This summer is just flying by! I can't believe it! I start school again on Aug 20!! I'm not looking forward to going back! I layed out by the pool yesterday with a friend and I got a really funny sunburn. I put sunscreen on, but I didn't get everywhere so my bellybutton, one of my armpits (it was really bright so I kept putting my arm over my eyes!), an area above my bikini bottom, and an area below my bikini top are burnt! It's looks really odd!

But anyway, I'll let you go! I'm sure this is the longest one I've written so far, but I had to get all caught up!! Talk to you soon!

Hi Sarah,
That is ok, my computer kicked me off shortly after that.

I like the one with the skinny ribbons on the corners. I was thinking of having the ribbons be mibt green to match my dress. It is going to be emerald with mint undertones. :) Anyway, it was pretty and looked fairly simple. I was thinking if I took a picture of it to like Micheals they could tell me what kinda materials I needed. I hope. :)

So how are things going with you? I only lost .4 pounds this week. That means I have exactly 10 pounds to lose to get to my goal weight. I never knew these last ten pounds could be so hard. LOL

Bill is going on vacation for a week and is leaving tomorrow. :( I will miss him.

This summer is going by so fast, I cannot believe it. If I can work on the invitations and thank you cards now, I can work on hotels in September. I like the idea of staying busy. :)

Well I will talk to you later.

Oh no, I must have just missed you on Friday! I'm sorry!

Just to clarify, do you like the one with the "skinny" ribbon on the corners. Or the one with the ribbon tied in a bow?

Hey Sarah,
For once my computer was being nice and let me look at those web sites. I found an invitation that I like. It is at:

http://www.theweddinginvitation.co.uk/design_heritage.htm

I like the one on the right. However I have no idea where to start. I was thinking of changing the ribbon to mint green to tie it in with my collor sceme. And then having the writting be in silver. What do you think?

Now comes all the questions. Is that just one sheet or does it open up? It looked like one sheet to me. Do I have to have directions in the invitation? Since there are so few of us I figured I could just tell everyone where to go. But of course it is always nice to have directions. How would I do that? Could I keep the same look and have it open up so I could put the directions on the inside? I know I am clueless. :)

I am starting to get excited about this. :) I could also do the thank you cards in the same style except have them be just one sheet that did not open up. That would be pretty. Ummm on the thank you cards am I supposed to address everyone seperatly and thank them for their individual gift? Or can I get away with a simple "Thank you for attending our wedding and sharing this special time with us. We appreciate your company and your gift" or something like that? LOL and I thought I was so on top of things. :)

Ok well I think that is enough questions for now. Thanks for helping me with this. I will talk to you later.

Hi Sarah,
It is our wedding it is supposed to be all about us! :) Don't worry as we get closer I am sure my head will start spinning and I will become very vocal on me. :) jk I hope. :)

Anyway,
I think we have decided to cut out the butterflies. I do not want to clutter things up with to many different things. Also I am second guessing the honeymoon. He is leaving for disneyland in a few days. Then a honeymoon at disneyworld next year? Hmmm I am wondering how much fun he is going to have. Still he says that as long as I am there he will have a good time.

My biggest thing right now is the whole ring issue. Did I tell you that he has not propossed yet? I think I did. Well he has pretty much all but come out and said that he has had a ring made but it is still not on my finger. He is either still paying for it or waiting for the right time. Either way it is driving me insane!! So that is my big complaint. It is just so frusterating to be making all these plans and to be talking about where we are going to live next year and all that and have no ring. I have not even told my family yet because I want to wait for the ring. Grrrr (deep sigh) ok I feel a little better now. Thanks for letting me vent. :)

I am glad you are feeling better about the guest list. I am sure everything will be lovely. Bill keeps telling me that no wedding goes without some hitch....but we can still try and make it perfect. :)

Talk to you later.

My fiance grew up in a very small town where everyone knows everyone else. So most of the people on the list are close to his family. Ugg, what a mess. I will probably just suck it up and have this huge guest list because the more people we invite, the more presents/money we get! Haha, I'm awful! We are definitely going to have to cut some of these people out. I think I'll tell him that if I've never met them, then they aren't invited.

I'm not much of a people person...I get very nervous around new people and I don't want to feel that way on my wedding day. And I still get nervous around his family because I want to make a good impression. I just want to be able to relax and have a good time. You know, the more that I think about it, the more I just don't care... if all these people want to come and celebrate at my wedding, good for them! I'm not going to let them ruin my day! I should be happy that all these people want to come and see our wedding! Ok, I feel much better about things. Thanks for listening! Oh man, I'm such a nutcase about this whole wedding! Haha!

Thanks for giving me that website for the books... I'll have to look into it!

How are your plans coming for your wedding? I feel like it's been about MEMEME lately!

Oh, I was giving this website to a friend so I thought I would paste it for you to see, too. This is my dress, only mine is all white, no red in it!

Hi Sarah,
Thanks for all the invitation web sites. It will take me a while to look through them. My computer can be tempermental when I want to do new thengs it likes to kick me off. Ah well.... I will get to it even if I have to a different computer. :)

The web site for the books is www.myeastonpress.com you can go there and order a catalog. The set I am getting is the 100 greatest books ever written. Well I will not get the whole set. But I am hoping to get at least 20 or so. They are 39.95 each plus 4.25 shipping and handling, so kinda pricy. You get to pick which books you want and they ship you one a month. You can cancel any time. Anyway since you mentioned an interest I thought I would give you the info. :)

Hmmmm that is a delima about the family. A compramise... Ok well I know he has a big family but it is your wedding to. Is he an only child? It seems kinda sad that you have to invite all these people you do not know. You have been going out a long time. If you have not met them yet how important are they? I mean are they inviting long lost aunt gertrude as an excuse to see her? How many off these people does his family invite to holidays. If they are that important wouldn't they be at holidays? Maybe a compramise is to cut it down to 200 or 250. I know his sister just gave you another list but the wedding is still 10 months and 26 days away. :) How many more people are going to come out of the woodworks before then? If you set a certain number then people might feel less inclined to have their feeling hurt...after all a bunch of other people did not get invited either. In the end though I am sure someone will object no matter what you do...someone always does. You know the old saying you cannot please everyone. And the more people there are the less chance you will have to please all of them. Anyway just a different perspective on things. Let me know what you decide, and you can vent anytime you want. :)

Talk to you later.

Oh I'm so excited I get to help you with invitations! Here are just a few sites I found. If you find any that you like, let me know and I'll try to help you come up with ideas to make them yourself! If you don't like anything let me know and I'll keep looking for ideas. Do you have a Hobby Lobby or Michael's or a store with different kinds of paper and ribbon somewhere close to you?

http://www.theweddinginvitation.co.uk/design_soho.htm

This one is kind of similar to mine...only mine doesn't have the flap that makes it look like an envelope. My font is much much different, too...

http://www.southernbelleinvitations.com/southerngrace.html

http://www.southernbelleinvitations.com/monogram.html

http://wedding-invitations.invitesite.com/gallery_summer_1.html

This site has tons of invitations that I bet you could make yourself...
http://bella-wedding-invitations.cceasy.com/index.cfm

Your library room sounds wonderful...exactly what I want, too! That is so awesome about those leather-bound, nice books. I wish I could have a set like that!

I am not working on much of anything right now... I'm trying not to go crazy! I had wanted a small wedding, but my fiance has a huge family so that kind of went out the window. Last time I went through our guest list, it was around 250. Then his sister gave me her guest list and there are lots and lots of people that aren't on our list that need to be. So it's going to be well over 300! And most of these people I won't know! So I'm trying to convince him fiance to go to Hawaii to get married..just him and me, my mom, his parents, his siblings and their families, and my brother and his family. But he really wants his grandparents there and they won't travel, so... We are trying to compromise, but I don't really know how to do that since we both want really different things. I don't know what the middle ground is.

Anyway, though, I'll let you go. Thanks for letting me rant! And of letting me help you with invitation ideas!

Hi Aerin,
It is nice to meet you!

Sarah,
That really is funny! :) Ohhh an editer that sounds like fun to! I had briefly thought about going into the newspapper but only briefly. I also love to read. I just finnished the last Harry Potter book on Monday. In fact I just ordered the first in a series of books called the 100 greatest books ever written. They are all leather bound and accented with genuine 22 karat gold. The first one is Huckleberry Finn. I have always wanted some nice books like that. I even baught two bookselves to put them on. I baught a few but this will be nice to have a classy set like this. One of these days I want to have a little room just for my own personal library. Nothing but bookshelves, a big comfy chair, and a lamp. Maybe a fireplace to. :) Anyway, I digress.

That would be great if you could send that information my way. Or send me some e-mail addresses to go to. Like I have said it is a small wedding of only 40 people (including the wedding party) so I do not need very many. Most places I have looked at want me to buy sets of 100. I just need about 30 or so and then 40 thank you notes. It would be kinda neat to make my own, and I am not worried about time...I have that. :)

Do not worry about the weight to much, we both still have time. It has to come off sooner or later. :)

Ok well I better get off before you feel like you are an editor. :) Talk to you later. Oh by the way did you ever say what you are working on now?

Hey Jaime!

This is really funny...almost everything that you have thought about doing I have also thought about doing! Back in high school I worked as a nursing assistant and I really liked it so I thought I would be a nurse. Then the day before my college classes started, I decided to change majors and be an elementary teacher. Then about a year after that I decided I didn't want to be a teacher so I decided I would go the business route. Then I didn't want to do that so I thought I would go back to teaching and be an English teacher. Then (I'm almost done, I promise haha) I decided to be an x-ray tech, but hated the school for that. Then I looked into photography but the only school around here has over a year waiting list. So here I am back in the teaching profession. So I'm in the same boat as you... who knows what I'll end up as.

My dream job would be a book editor. I love to read and write, but there are no jobs in Iowa for something like that. I would have to move to New York or Boston and I don't want to do that. My second choice would be stay at home mom, but we'll have to see if thats possible financially later. I'm sorry this is turning out to be sooo long, but it's nice to have someone to vent to who knows what it feels like!

I also am not doing so great on the weight loss recently. I made my goal for what I wanted to weigh when I bought my dress, but then I went back up. Oh well, though. I just keep telling myself that I'm a lot lighter than I was 2 months ago!

If you want me to, I can try to find some invitations that could be made homemade. I'll have to find a way to post them so you can see them. My invitations didn't take too much creativity, but they did take some time to make them all.

So I'll talk to you soon!

Hi Kerri,
Welcome to our group. We just post when we can. It is nice to meet you.

Sarah,
I hate my job to...of course I just got done with a 12 and a half hour shift so that may have something to do with it. That is great that you are so close to finishing school! :) My mom thinks I am going to be a professional student. I have been going for almost five years and still have no degree. Which would be fine if I was trying to be a dr. :) I almost have an AA degree. I was going to be a nurse, then it was going to be an english proffessor (funny huh with my spelling) I even looked into being a pilot after my honey took me for a flying lesson for our last honeymoon. I found out I love to fly. Thought of being a vet but I hate science which is why I decided against being a nurse even though that is what I have been doing for the last eight years...a nursing assistant. I also thought of being a photographer, I love to take pictures. So I guess after all that I can see my mom's point. :) Who knows what I will end up as.

Well work has been so hectic that I have really bombed out on the past week or so. It is really frusterating because I was getting so close and was having some big loses. I was down to 151.4 SO CLOSE!!! Oh well. Things are bound to slow down eventually. :)

I was looking at a homemade invitation the other day and thought of you. It looked so pretty and I would save a bunch of money if I made my own but I just have no idea where to start. So kudos to you for being so creative. :) I think we are going to cut out the butterflies to save on some of the cost.

Ok well now I am writting a novel. I hope you are having a great day and things are going well. Oh by the way did you lose more weight? The little thingy that shows how much you way seems to be lower. :)

Ok well talk to you both later.

Hi Keri- you're right...this board is great to help keep you accountable. Jaime and I talk about what's going on with weight and wedding and it's just really nice to have someone to talk about it all with.

Jaime- I live in Iowa. I'm 21 and my honey and I have been dating for 3 years...the day after we get married will be our 4 year anniversary! I am still plugging away at school to become and elementary/ special ed. teacher. I've only got 3 semesters and my student teaching left! Umm, what else?? I hate my job! Hopefully, I will only have to keep working until January and then I can just focus on school. Anything else you want to know, just ask!

Hope you had a great weekend!

Hello everyone! My name is Keri and my fi and I are getting married May 31, 2008...which is actually his birthday. His reasoning is this way he will never forget out anniversary! He's a total goofball which is one of the many things I love about him.

I started spark back in February and haven't made that much progress as of yet which is one of the main reasons I'm joining this board. I think a "buddy" system will help keep me a lot more accountable for what I eat and if I exercise or not.

Hope everyone has a great remainder of their weekend!

Hey Sarah,
Novels are great. On here it is kinda nice since we only talk every few days. It is kinda like having a modern day pen pal. :)

So it came to my attention that I look forward to our chats and think of you as a friend, yet know little about you. So...

I live in washington. I think you mentioned where you live yet I cannot remember. I am 29 and have know Bill for over three years. This Oct will be our 4th year together. :) Anyway....

I have been so busy with work it is hard to fit anything else in. That is great that you to could fit into your skinny pants. What a great feeling. It is so weird but all I can think of is how my life will be a year from now. I am excitted and nervous all at the same time. I was married once before to my kid's father. That was a disaster, except for the kids. :) However we have been on our own now for quit some time. Even though Bill and I have been together for so long it still kinda scares me, but I am excited at the same time. Funny huh?

Ok well now I am the one writting a novel. I hope you are having a great day. Talk to you soon.

Jaime

Oh by the way, great job on almost finishing the invitations. I know you have been working on them for a while. :)

Hey Jaime,

Congratulations on getting into your "skinny pants!!!" I know exactly how it feels to be able to fit into them...I have a pair of jeans that I refused to get rid of after they didn't fit anymore. I tried them on the other day and I can get into them, but just like you I can't breathe or sit down. It's so exciting!!

Yeah for the recipe box! I'm not a huge one for cooking (I hate the clean up!), but I would like to get a good cookbook to maybe motivate me more to cook.

Wedding plans are coming along good. I'm working on finishing the invitations...I'm so close and I hope to have them finished by the end of this week. Then I'm going to make some picture holders out of wire. I'm not quite sure how I'm going to do it, but between me and my finace we should be able to come up with something!

I can't believe we are going to be married in less than a year! This summer is going by so fast!

But I'll let you go. I tend to write novels on here Haha! Have a good day!

Hi Sarah,
Sorry I have been MIA for a bit. My silly computer is having issues. Over the last few days I have tried three times to come on and post a message and my computer would not let me. Just kept kicking me off. Ah well at least it is letting me post now.

That is fantastic that you have lost that much!!! Great job!!! Before we know it we will both be at our goal. After this weeks loss I am only 11.8 pounds away from mine. However I will still have to work on toning up. I am trying to get into a size 10. I went and tried on pants the other day. I could actually fit into a size 10!! I cannot remember how long it has been since I could do that. :) The only thing was that they were REALLY tight. And there was no way I could have sat down....but I am getting close. :) So excitting.

Bill got me a new recipe box yesterday. Now I am hunting for good recipes. :) I have been asking for a recipe box since before Cristmas.

So how is the wedding planning going? Things have slowed down for me. Right now I am concentrating on losing the weight. Soon I will have to go fabric shopping and make the reservations for the honeymoon though. I cannot believe how fast this month is going. Just think...this time next year we will both be married.

Talk to you later. Hope you are having a great day!

Hello!

Weezer-you picked a great date to get married! Honestly, I have no idea if you have to call people beforehand. I am a very organized person so it would kill me if I didn't call ahead and talk to someone. I would just research places on the internet and see what they say.

Jaime--you are going to be so proud of me!! Not only did I do great on food this weekend, but I lost 1.4 pounds! No I'm only 7 pounds away from my goal! I am going to buy my dress on Saturday, and I would like to lose 2 pounds this week for that. Hopefully I should be able to do that no problem since I don't have anything going on. Hey Jaime,

Oh I feel so much better that you don't exercise 2 hours at once! I was going to feel like a slacker! I just remembered that I promised you I would find an article about wedding work-outs, so here you go...

http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/fitness_articles.asp?id=565

I hope it helps! I haven't done it yet so you'll have to let me know how it goes if you decide to use it.

My eating is going pretty good, but it's only Thursday morning! We'll see how good I can do the rest of the weekend. Weekends are the worst for me. I get off track way too easy. I guess this weekend will really have to test my will power and motivation. I actually went shopping last night for pants and I ended up buying 2 pairs that are about 3-4 sizes smaller than what I used to wear! So I guess I'll have to keep thinking about that this weekend to stay motivated!

I'm glad we are doing this, too! It's much more fun to have someone to talk about this with. Let me know how everything is going with you! I probably won't be able to get back on here until Monday, so I hope you have a great weekend!

Hi Sarah,
I hate exercising as well. LOL I think if I exercised for two hours at one time I would colapse. I like walking as well. That is how I get in a lot of my time in. I usually do about three hours for the week all total so this is a real stretch for me. But I am determined to do it. :) I also like my gazelle. I can do about 20 min on that so that helps. Of course I like to split that up as well. I also am doing some tummy exercises.

I am glad the quote helped you. I know it has helped me on more than one occassion. If you like I can post other quotes as well. :)

You are right, we are so close. How are things going with you this week? I know you had a lot of things planned. How did the eating go?

Well I have to get going. I hope you are having a great day. Thank you for taking this journey with me. It really helps. Talk to you later.

Hi Jaime,

Thanks for the inspiring quote! My fiance was eating chips last night, and I wanted some really really bad, but this quote popped in my head and I realized eating those chips was not going to help me. I ended up eating 2 chips...that's quite a feat for me because I love chips!

2 hours of working out??? WOW!! That's great! Do you do it all at once or do you break it up throughout the day? Personally, I hate hate hate working out so 45 mins is the top for me. I try to walk everyday for 30-45 mins. walking is about the only thing I actually enjoy. What work outs do you do?

We are so close to our goals! We just gotta keep hangin' in there!! We'll get there!

Talk to you later!

Hi Sarah,
It is going ok. I kinda went a little over board around the fourth but I am doing lots better now. :) I only lost 0.2 pounds last weigh in...but I am just happy to have not gained five. I am determined that this weight is going to come off. Only fourteen more pounds to go. I started a new exercise routine and I am hoping it will really show some results. I started Sunday with 45 min of exercise. Then I increase it everyday by 15 min. On Friday I will do 2 hours. And then on Saterday I will take it easy with only doing 45. I find that if I work out really hard right before weigh in day it has the opposite effect than what I want.

Eat lots of good healthy filler foods and hang in there. Remember, this is just all practice for when the big month comes. We will have it down so well that there is no way all the extra running around and stress are going to make us blow up like a blow fish. Also so that we do not come back from our honeymoon ten pounds heavier. :) With going to disneyworld that is the one I am worried about.

A quote that is really helping me right now is

You have no one to beat but yourself, go for your personal best.

I keep asking myself "is that my personal best?"

Hope you are having a great day. Keep me posted on what is happening. I always love to hear from you. :) Talk to you later.

Hey Jaime! I hope everything is going good for you! I just wanted to stop in and say hi. I'm trying to get back on track after everything I had going on during the 4th. This weekend is going to be hard, though. Thursday night my fiance and I are going to his parent's house to see some of his family, then Friday we are taking the day off to go with some friends to Valleyfair, Saturday is his sister's baby shower, and then finally on Sunday we have our engagement pictures. So I'm really going to have to watch what I eat so I don't gain weight for our pictures. How's your weight loss coming??

Talk to you soon!

Hi Sarah,
It is great to hear from you. Don't you just love it when people want to talk to you about your wedding? :) That is ok about the cake question. I know you have so much on your plate right now that trying to remember to ask your mom is not at the top of your list. :) Whenever you get around to it.

Great job on losing the 1.4 pounds!! It is always nice to get that kind of surprise. How was your 4th? I did pretty good. I just had a few bites of my kid's treats and then just had one myself (and I shared that with the kids). mmm chocolate covered strawberries. At least it was a fruit. :)

That is great that someone is growing your flowers for you. I am ordering my petals soon, they will be freeze dried so I will have them a few months before the wedding. Then they will look fresh and perfect for the wedding day. :)

Well I will talk to you later.

Hope everyone else is having a great day as well.

Hi Jaime! And hello to everyone else! Sorry I've been gone so long!! Oh my goodness what a week I've had! I had some family come home unexpectedly. It's a lot of fun because I haven't seen them in about 2 years, but it's not so great on the diet! We've been talking all about my wedding and my aunts have been great with suggestions! We even found a family friend who will grow me some calla lilies for free to use for my bouquet!

So I weighed myself on Tuesday and I was up 1 pound. I didn't think too much about it because I knew I wasn't trying to watch what I was eating. Then I weighed myself today expecting it to go up some more, and I actually lost 1.4 pounds. So I'm exactly back on track! It's such a great feeling!

Jaime, I hope your plans are coming along smoothly. I forgot all about asking my mom about frosting until right now, but I'm going to see her tomorrow so I'll make myself a note to ask her. Good luck with getting back on track-apple pie ala mode and motzerella sticks are so good though!!

Talk to you soon!

Hi everyone,
How are you all doing? I am trying to get back on track. No time like the present. :) Yesterday I went out to eat with Bill and we ended up sharing a hot apple pie alla mode. Well at least we shared it. Then today we went to arbys and I was good and had a chicken sandwich wrap. The only problem was the three motzerella sticks and pepsi I had with it. Ah well. I will swim my tummy off tomorrow. I just hope I can controll myself with the food stands. :) Actually I think I will start tonight and get my derier (sp) moving. Hope everyone had a great day and has a great 4th of July. :)

Sarah,
How are you doing? I miss you.

I am also getting married on 6-7-08! We chose it because of the uniqueness of the date. I would have loved to do 8-8-08 but it's unfortunately a friday. I just joined and I am happy to say that I am taking the steps to get a healthier me. I am with the best guy in the world. He treats me like a princess, and I love him more then life itself. So I am loosing this weight for us. For our life together. A healthy and promising future where I will not let my physical limits stop me from doing all that I want to do. I'm taking it a day at a time, and I wish you all the best on your journey to better health!

Hi Jamie,

It's nice to meet you! I just started yes and have already lost about 3 lbs! That is GREAT you have lost so many lbs since starting!!

I have had my dress and my bridesmaid dresses figured out since Jan...LOL! I am very proactive! I guess I got excited. The bridesmaids dresses are a Euro Berry which is kind of a mauve/pink, very pretty with a light pink sash. My dress actually has color to it also which is a dusty rose, and it's very pretty too.

So, that is why I am trying to drop some weight so I can look great in my pics and on my wedding day!!

Hi Dasywasy,
We are almost the same weight! I weigh 154.2 Did you just start? I started trying to lose weight back in Feb. I weighed 180 then so I have lost 25.8 pounds already!! Just 14.2 more to go!! My goal is to lose that by the end of the year and then just work on maintaining. :)

I have most of the things figured out as well. We are getting married at the renaissance fair. Have you decided what colors your dress will be? Mine is emerald green with a mint underskirt. :) The ribbons on the bouquet will be mint and white to match the dress. It will also have six white roses and dark green leaves. I am so excited! My best friends mother in law is making the dress for me. She is comming into town this week and I am hoping she can find a few hours to go fabric shopping with me. :)

Anyway it is nice to meet you. I am glad you joined us. Talk to you later.

Hi Sarah,
We have really lost about the same weight. I have lost 26 pounds. I am also finding it hard to lose the last 14 pounds. I was at a plataeu for over a month and just started losing again. Have you tried mixing your workouts up? I know sometimes the body gets used to the same things and stops losing. Just an idea.

I would love some tips on working my arms. :)

You have done very good as well! WOW 24 pounds in two and a half months! That must hace taken some dedication! :) I have given myself till the end of the year to lose the 40 pounds. I figured that will give me time to adjust it if I want to. That way I just have to work on maintaining. If I can maintain for the six months till my wedding then I should have it down. :)

Keep me posted on how things are going. :) Talk to you later.

Hi Jaime,

It is nice to have someone to talk to about this stuff! Thanks for telling me I'm going to look good in my dress!

I started in mid-March. I was at 157, lost a few pounds, and then had a co-worker tell me about sparkpeople. I was at 152 when I started this. Right now I'm at 133, so I've lost a total of 24 pounds. My goal is 125, which was where I was when I started dating my fiance. These last 8 pounds are so hard! I also am trying to find a happy medium.

You have lost so much weight! Congratulations!!! Your going to be at your goal before you know it! I have a work-out plan designed for looking good in a wedding dress. I think it focuses mostly on arms. I'll find it and post it for you.

I decided not to buy my dress tomorrow. I had a horrible week of eating, so I'm not where I planned to be at weight-wise. I don't want to buy a dress and then have to spend lots of money getting it altered. So my plan is to buy it on July 21. My mom is still going to come down and hang out with me, so I will be sure to ask her about the cake/frosting!

I hope you have a great weekend! Keep up your great work!

Hi Sarah,
Thanks for the tips. I did not even think about the wind with the bubbles. It would not matter as much with the rose petals because they have some weight to them. Thank you for helping me decide on that one. :D

I talked to a bakery and they will put together a plate for me with different cakes and frostings. The thing is I do not want to eat any of it. LOL Ask your mom what kind of cake she makes. Maybe I will just go with that. After all I do not plan on eating very much of it anyway. :)

Great job on making a lot of things yourself. I am trying to keep cost down as well. Thank you for saying you like my colors. I am hoping the whole affect will be stunning. :) I will have to post pics after the wedding.

Right now I am trying to walk alot and get on my gazelle. Also I try and make healthy choices in what I eat. So far it is working for me. I know when I first started that I was all gung ho and lost a lot of weight. Then I started to slip back into life. I am trying to find a happy medium. By the time I get to the dreaded maintain I am hoping I have a routine down.

How much have you lost and when did you start? I started about the end of January. I weighed 180 when I started. Right now I weigh 154 so I am getting there. My origional goal was to get to 140 by the end of the year. Right now though I want my waist to slim up. I still have 3 1/2 inches to lose in my waist. After that I will be happy. :)

I need to work on my arms. My dress is off the shoulder with just a strip of fabric bigger than a strap but not quit a sleeve so I have to get my arms in shape. I have just a few areas that I really need to work on. My stomach is the worse. I just need to tone up my inner thighs and the back of my arms. I think I am starting to like the way I look. Now if I can just get those areas to shape up I will be set. :)

Ok well I will talk to you later. Thank you for posting. It is nice to talk with someone about weddings and weight loss who is not tired of hearing about it. :) Hang in there you will reach your goal. :) And I am sure you are going to look beautiful in your dress.

Hey Jaime,

Your dress sounds amazing! My favorite color is green so I love the idea of emerald green and mint green together! And then with your white roses, I think it's going to look amazing!

Personally, I like the idea of throwing rose petals. I've never seen it done, but it sounds so elegant. The last few weddings I've been to have all had the bubbles-if the wind isn't just right, the bubbles just kind of go everywhere excpet toward the bride and groom! I know I got hit in the face with quite a few! I do like the butterfly idea, too, but be careful if you order them over the internet... I've heard stories where all the butterflies come dead. Not a good thing...

Yea for the weight loss!! Mine isn't going as good as I hoped it would this week. We had a couple of things come up that prevented me from eating as good as I could have, but if I'm really good today and tomorrow, I should reach my goal for this week.

Right now I am working on invitations. I am doing a pocket-fold "thing" and I'm in the process of gluing the actual invitation onto the pocket-fold. I went through 3 glue sticks yesterday and I'm only about 1/2 done!

My mom used to make cakes professionally, so she is making mine. Honestly, I have no idea about kinds of frostings. I'm just concerned about the color! Whatever my mom usually makes tastes good, so I guess that's all that matters!

Hi Sarah,
That is great that you have that figured out. I have not worked on that one yet. :) It is amazing what a walk can do for you.

Well I now have a lot more things figured out. My dress is going to be emerald green. It has a gap in the over skirt so you can see part of the underskirt. The underskirt is going to be a light mint. The bouquet is very simple with six white roses with the leaves being a very dark green. It has lots of ribbons. The ribbons will be a strip of light mint to match the dress with white lace on the outside.

Also I cannot decide if when we come out weather the guest will throw rose petals (the same ones the flower girls used) or blow bubbles. After that we may go over and release twenty four monarch butterflies. Just some ideas I am throwing around. :)

I am doing very good with the weight loss. I have lost another 1/2 inch in my stomach. Only 3 1/2 more to go. :) Also fourteen pounds and I will be at my origional goal. I am so excited now that I am so close.

What are you working on now? Do you have your cake icing figured out? I am having a problem with that. I never knew there was so many different kinds of white cake and icing. Someone suggested a cream cheese icing. Someone else said their cake was going to have white chocolate mixed with butter and sugar. Sounds yummy but maybe a little to sweet for my taste. :)

Talk to you later.

Wow! You do have a lot accomplished! I always seem to keep adding to my "to-do" list, too! But like you said, we have a year to do it all! Right now my focus is on invitations. I am making my own and last night I finally finished all the templates for the actual invitation, the reception card, the RSVP card, and the directions/map card. I was having some trouble getting the map onto the back of the direction card and I was getting so frustrated! So my fiance and I decided to go for a walk to clear my head and as we were walking, I figured out how to do it! So everything is done...it's just a matter of printing them out now.

I really want to lose 2 pounds this week so I can be closer to my goal weight when I buy my dress. I lost 0.8 since yesterday, so hopefully I won't have any problem.

Hi Sarah,

Well the planning talk yesterday went really well. I have the site picked, the time of day for the ceremony and the banquet. I talked to the officiating, the musician, and the dress rental lady. The cake will be in the shape of a castle. Now all I need to decide what the filling will be (if any), and the frosting. Also what flowers I want in my boqay (sp), talk to the priest about how we want the ceremony, decide if we want a special song played and what that will be. Also I have the banquet down to either turkey or a stew in bread bowls. Oh and I have to talk to the photographer. And the person making my dress so we can buy material. I also have to decide what I want my dress color to be. It is between saphire blue and emerald green. Boy I thought I got a lot figured out yesterday but the more I type the more I find that I still need to do. LOL Well at least I have a year to do it.

Hi All!

Jaime-congrats on getting your motivation back! It's so hard to stay motivated all the time! How did your planning talk go yesterday?

I actually made plans to buy my dress this coming Saturday. I hope to lose 2 pounds this week, so I will only be 7 away from my goal. Hopefully that won't make too much of a difference in the size I need. I have always heard that 9 months before is the time to buy. That is supposed to give you enough time incase something goes wrong. Personally, I am buying mine so soon because I have had it picked out for a while and I just can't wait anymore!

So how is everyone's planning going? I am trying to figure out cake ideas right now. This has been the hardest decision for me!! I think because there are way too many options out there and I like all of them!

So what are everyone's colors? Mine are dark blue and silver.

Hi everyone,
So I am starting to lose the weight again. I was doing really good and then gained a few pounds back. I think I just lost my motivation for a while. I still have 15 pounds left to go to get to my goal weight of 140. I have already lost 25 pounds and I am finding these last 10 harder than the first 25. Ah well I will lose it. Then comes the dreaded maintain.

I do not have my dress yet. I am having someone make mine so I can save some money. I think I finally found my pattern! So I am excited about that. I talk to the person in charge of the wedding and planning on Sunday. I can't wait!!

So how is everyone else doing with thier weight loss? How much have you lost? How much do you still want to lose? How long have you been doing this? And what is working for you?

I am in agility with my dog and we both need to lose weight. They are worried that the extra 10-15 pounds on him will affect him when he starts doing the jumps. She we are both working out. :)

Ok well I hope everyone has a great day. Talk to you all later.

Hi everyone,
Wow that is neat about the June 7th 2008! I know that 7-7-07 is very popular. I am getting married at the Renaissance fair and so the wedding date is set for June 21st. I am so excited! Just a tiny bit over a year now. So what is everyone doing to lose weight? I was doing really good. I started at 180 I am 5'5 and that is what I weighed when I delivered my second child eight years ago. I lost almost all of it and then somehow it all creapt back. I had gotten down to 155.6 and was doing great. Now I seem to have lost some of my motivation and I am back up to 157. I am trying to get to 140. I do not want to gain all this weight back. EVER! I am doing a little better but I still need to work at it. I am part of the biggest loser club and spark people is so different. On BLC we post messages daily so we can offer each other support. Spark people is more of an occassional post from people. Does anyone want to actually form a group and get and give encouragement. I could really use it! I only have 17 pounds to lose but I am finding that last 17 harder than the first 23. I thought it was great that sparkpeople had this board for brides! There is not one on BLC. It would be great to make this journey with other brides and have us all reach out goals at our weddings! Wadda say?

So, our date is set for June 7th, 2008. Apparently it is a special date that will only happen like once ever. But I didnt realize that until the limo service told me about it. I didnt even realize the originality of the date 06/07/08 until 3 months after we picked it and a friend told me about it. Anyways, it is now less than a year until we get married and I have 20 pounds to lose....my fiance says that is too much but that is what I weighed when I garduated high school and that is where I want to be. So here is the start of a new and healthy life and future. Also, when we get married we will have been together for 9 years. Our one year anniversary we will have been together 10 years!!! AMAZING when I think about it!!!

I would love to take a cruise!! :) Maybe someday. However my honey is afraid of water. I cannot even get him into a jacuzzi on our wedding night. Ah well... Maybe someday I can get him onto a boat. After all just because he is surrounded by water does not mean he has to touch it. :)

I wanted to go to Disneyworld because I heard Epcot was like a bunch of mini countries. Now I am hearing that it is not that big or impressive. Ah well...

I love chocolate fountains!! MMMM Very yummy. Be careful you do not get a tummy ache, it can be addicting and before you know it you have eaten to much. I have heard it is messy to clean up as well. Around here you can hire someone with a fountain to come to your event. Maybe you could look into that.

The renassaince is almost here!! I am very excited! Not only because I like the fair but because of the wedding. I will be looking around and thinking of what it will be like next year. Try and get a feel for when would be the best time for the ceremony and all that. Also I get to talk to the woman in charge and finalize some things. All very exciting.

Hope everyone is doing good. Talk to you all later.

My fiance and I also talked quite a bit about engagement/marriage before he popped the question. He called the banker to talk about paying for my ring and he accidentally gave them my cell phone number so they called me! That was a major clue that something was up! I like to give him a hard time about that now because I think it's so funny! I also think it would be romantic if he proposed to you where you are going to get married, Jaime!

Disneyworld sounds fun!! My honey and I are leaning toward a Caribbean cruise. The idea of just getting on the boat and not having to worry about food or stuff to do is appealing. Where is everyone else going?

I'd really like to get some opinions on this idea...We are having orderves (sp??)before dinner and are toying with having a chocolate fountain. What does everyone else think? I love them, but I've heard they are a pain to clean up and that someone has to watch it the whole night so the chocolate doesn't start to burn. Any ideas??

Hi everyone,
This would be great to get some support from other people getting married in June. That way we would all have a common goal. Also people who are not getting married get tired of hearing about "the wedding". Or that is I am sure they would if anyone knew. We kinda did things backwards. Put the cart before the horse as people say. Only a few of my friends know and none of my family. We have talked about life and religion and my two children. About where we would live and what we would do. What is important to us and what we can live with. Then we looked at rings and talked (and decided) about where to get married. I am talking to the person in charge of the wedding at the Renaissance fair at the end of this month and have already talked to her on the phone. Wee have decided on where to go for the honeymoon, it will be at Disneyworld. However he still has not propossed! He makes hints that he is making payments on a ring. When I push the isue he says that if any ring will do he can get me one for a quarter machine. Joking of course. Still it would be nice to have him ask. He knows I want it to be somewhat special though. When my ex propossed we were sitting in the car and he said "ya wanna get married?" Not the most romantic. Anyway. The fair is comming up and I am kinda hoping he will ask me when we go on July 1st. That would be kinda romantic. Ask me at the place we are going to get married at.

Anyway...
Weight wise. I lost almost 25 pounds and was doing really good. Then life happened and I gained 2 pounds back. I now have 17 pounds to go. I would love to encourage and support someone who is also trying to lose weight. As well as talk about weddings!! One of my favorite subjects!

Hope to talk to you guys soon.

Um.......my future sister in law is working on our invites, but has a lot of other stuff going on, so she is kinda putting us on "hold" since our wedding is "all the way next June".

Hi,
I am new too. I am getting married in June. We are having the wedding at the local renaissance fair. :) The ceremony, cake, photographer, minstrels, flowers, banquet dinner, and greating by the king are all included in the price. This is so nice and relly helps take some of the pressure off. I want the date to be the 14th but it may have to be the 21st. I am not sure if the renaissance will be running on the 14th. They are supposed to let me know at the biggining of July. I am so excited. Just a little over a year away!
