| My dress is also Ivory/Champange...my "flower girl" who just turned 12!!!!....is wearing a dress that matches the bridesmaids....she didn't want to be a junior bridesmaid she wants to be a "flower girl" so whatever she wants to call it....we had looked at a dress that is ivory/truffle...but dunno yet...my bridesmaids are wearin truffle but the dress she may wear is just like it but has straps.....now my maid of honor....my sister....is sayin she doesn't want to wear strapless...HELLO YOU POSED FOR MAXIUM!!!! DEAL WITH IT!!!! But if my flower girl has a different dress it will be ivory just because it will look better...plus we're not usin any white...it is outdoors and I just didn't want white!

Ummmm....I call shenanigans on a white shirt making a bride in something other than white look "dirty". I've been to numerous weddings where the bride wore an off-white/ivory gown, and the groom & groomsmen were in white shirts under their tuxes. It looks fine. White shirts under black tuxes are so classic that they go with anything. Also, remember that you're never going to have the white RIGHT NEXT to the ivory dress...there's always going to be a vest, jacket, something in between to break them up.
With a flower girl dress, I can see where you'd have them sitting right next to each other & the difference might be noticeable, but I don't think it would be ugly or make anyone look 'dirty'. So pick a dress you think will look good on your flower girl & go with it!

| We were also told that white next to ivory would make the ivory look dirty. She even held up an ivory shirt next to a white shirt and it looked bad. My flower girl is wearing a pink dress to match our pink roses.

| exactly, nothing white on the groom. makes the bride look "dirty".

| Something to think about. The lady at the tux shop told us that FI should not wear a white shirt, because it would make my ivory dress look dirty.

i'd say ivory.
my wedding dress was also "ivory-white" as the lady frm the bridal shop called the color. DH had the suit in the same color while my flowers (rouses) were all a very "pale" shade of pink. i didn't have a flower girl and my maiden of honor had a nice bluish suit.

Funny you should ask... my gown is a darker ivory, and my finace is dead set on wearing a white shirt under a black tuxedo. I guess we will have to make due!
I think it's the day that is important. I've seen (and prefer) where the flower girl is dressed up in the color of the wedding party, not like a little bride.

| I've looked at tons of pictures where the bride is in ivory and the flower girl or groom is wearing a white shirt and you can't tell at all.
|
|
|
|
| A lot of the ivories are so close to white that it probably wouldn't be that noticeable

|
| It really depends on how matchey you want to be and how formal your ceremony is. I'd say white is fine, but then my wedding isn't going to be very formal, and that sort of matching isn't something I'm concerned about. If the dress matches the spirit of your wedding/ceremony it'll be perfect no matter what color it is.
