We are just going out to dinner. We aren't getting each other anything but cards... We are buying a house soon... so that is our gift to each other!

We don't really do up Valentines Day that much. A card and maybe a small token gift. We only see each other on the weekends right now (we live an hour apart), so we just went to a nicer-than-usual dinner last weekend.

We have plans to go to a nice place for supper, but the weather is supposed to be really bad...snow and ice, so we may just end up staying home and making our Valentines Day on the weekend.

ohhh boy. i'm getting DH a new TV ;) our old one is almost broke so i thought it was really cool to get one now. he's getting me a microwave oven ;) we r newlyweds so we still need stuff at home (though we've been living together for 4 yrs already). while we were just BF and GF i usually stuck to a heart-shaped cake or a nice romantic dinner cooked by me ;)

We are not big V-day folks... we're much more the "do little things year round and exchange funny cards" sort. Altho', he managed to catch me off guard by suggesting that we go out to the Melting Pot last night since we hadn't been out to a nice dinner in a while, and then popping the question when we got home- so this is my first post on the "marrieds-to-be" community, lol!

I have had so much fun with Valentines this year already. I started mine on Feb 1. each day I have done something or gave him something small but yet special each day. From a card from the store or a homemade one, a love letter I wrote for him, love notes around the house, For lunch I made BLT's and I took a bow that says I LOVE YOU and wrapped it around it, I took Valentines M&M's wrote out BE MINE on the coffee table Sorry I must be borring you all. There's just so much we can do and not spend a ton of money. It's the small things that make it special.... T...

We don't celebrate Vday either. I think it's partly due to all the years I had to wait tables on that day. :)

I know what you mean. My fiancee and I aren't boycotting Valentines Day, but we have agreed to just get a card for each other.

As unromantic as it sounds we have boycotted Valentines day since we started dating 5 years ago. We will do random surprise things for each other just whenever, but we both have a hard time subscribing to a Hallmark holiday. It is kind of our little inside joke when people ask us what we do. But it has worked great for us. PLUS it is so expensive to do Birthdays Christmases and Anniversaries AND Valentines. It might sound unromantic but it has made us that much more romantic during the rest of the year and I think everyday!

this year is going to be tough since we're both wicked busy the week of V-day and that weekend, i think we're going on a ski trip sometime in march?

But, last year, i threw him a pirate valentines day - i decorated the attic (which was a spare room) in nautical themes - green and blue fabrics, seashells, ocean smelling candles, random gold colored "booty". I took a box and painted it to look like a treasure chest and put stuff in there like the pirates of the carribean DVD, chocolate coins, other random piraty stuff, and i made him dinner, oh, and dressed up like a pirate.

He was completely surprised!

Not sure if this is something he would like, but if you know of something he's really obsessed with or into, you can play it up for a whole theme.

I got my fiance an ipod. He has wanted one for awhile, so I ordered one off of apple.com and got it engraved with something special. They have free shipping and student discounts!

Ok Girls and Guys. What are some great ideas for gifts for a GUY for Valentines day. I know candy and flowers not really that masculine. I am having a hard time this year comingup with something for my fiance for V-day
