Hi Kari! It sounds like a good plan to go out with the best man and his gf. A lot of our family/friends are making a vacation of our wedding, too. Most will have to stay over since they'll be coming from Tennessee, Missouri, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida and North Carolina. That's why we chose Gatlinburg. It is kind of a central location for everyone, there's plenty of hotels available, easy to get to and lots to do! The drawback, of course, is that it is a popular place in the summer! Everyone likes Gatlinburg! lol

Yes, that's it! Wonderworks. We're definitely gonna have to check that one out...probably along with 10 million other people. :P I think the best man and his girl are gonna make a vacation out of our wedding so maybe we can all go one day.

I love going to the outlet shops, too. My fiance doesn't care much for shopping, though. I spend a lot less money these days. lol I used to live about 2 1/2 hours away from Pigeon Forge so we went pretty often at one time, too. I love it there! I saw the upside down house when we were there in July but I don't think it was open. Is it called WonderWorks? Sounds familiar...

Yep, I've been to Dollywood many, many times...my parents live about 90 min. away from Pigeon Forge. :) So I've been there on school trips, family trips, trips with friends, etc...more than I could count. It's a really nice park and it's been interesting to see how much it's grown up since Dolly first took it over. It's really become a nice place to go.

My favorite thing to do there is outlet shop...I love Burlington Brands because you can get Lands' End stuff for super cheap. ($5 per piece)

Maybe I'll see if there's something else he wants to do there...and bargain with the massage. ;) We do definitely want to check out that upside down house thing in Sevierville...I forget what it's called...it's new though and it looks very interesting!

My fiance actually said we could do a massage. Can you believe that?! I think most guys are hesitant because it seems 'unmanly'. Men have fragile egos. lol Try bargaining with him. If he'll do the massage (with the added 'benefits', of course!) with you then you'll do something he likes. After our two days alone we are going to pick up the older kids from my parents' then spend a day in Dollywood. Have you ever been there? It's fun. My fiance hasn't been, though, and I haven't been in several years so it'll be fun to do that again. Good luck with everything!

I PMed you the chapel's name. :) I'm a little cautious after what has happened to a few people on The Knot.

As for the honeymoon...nothing "else" special planned as of right now...I'm thinking about maybe signing us up for a couples massage but I don't think he wants to do it. :( No matter how much I tell him it'll be beneficial!

Karichelle,
Which chapel are you using? (If you don't want to post on here you can sparkmail me privately) I was curious. I looked at a lot of the chapels but could find none that fit what I needed. We'll have more than 60 people there and we wanted plenty of time. We decided to do the Lily Barn instead. I had my heart set on the Heartland Chapel, though. It was gorgeous! I've seen some of the others there, too, and they are beautiful, too. We'll have a short honeymoon, too, because we have to get the twins from my fiance's mom pretty soon. That's ok. Do you know how long it has been since we had an hour alone much less three days??!!?? I can't wait! Are you doing anything special on your honeymoon? (Besides the obvious!

I am getting married in Gatlinburg on July 28. :) We'll be honeymooning for 3 days in a cabin then heading back home to get settled in for a few more days before I start working. I love our little chapel...it's so cute. :)

I love Kentucky! It is such a beautiful state. I would have loved a beach wedding but my fiance isn't fond of beaches. We both love the mountains, though. I used to live in western NC, near Asheville. Gatlinburg is the perfect place for us! Plus...we have decided that we are going to go whitewater rafting and take a helicopter ride while on our honeymoon. I've always wanted to do both of those things and this is our chance! (No kiddies to keep up with for three whole days.....WOOHOO!!!!)

Me! Well, technically I'm getting married June 9 in Townsend but it is right next door to Gatlinburg. We have rented a cabin for our honeymoon there. I think a small cabin wedding would be awesome! When I was searching online for what we wanted I saw some that were just gorgeous. Do you live near Gatlinburg? Congratulations!
