ebay is great for wedding stuff... but you have to know what you're looking for. you can order invitations there, wedding shoes, veils, dresses (if you're so daring), favors, etc.
also, if you're planning to serve alcohol try to find a place that will let you bring in your own alcohol. there's a liquer store, spec's, here that will let you take back an unopened bottles after your event, which is helpful.

Go to micheals they are a decorating store they have videos on their website on how to make your own things such as veils, flower arrangements and cakes. I would buy your wedding cake from Publix, they have some nice cakes and probably alot less expensive then Bakery stores. I'm borrowing a beautiful dress from my friend for my wedding dress, and having the reception at our home, which will save us some money and Im making the food myself since Im having a small wedding Id rather just cook my own food than pay for a caterer.Im also making my own veil, and my Father In law is going to be taking the wedding pictures with his digital camera and making us our own wedding dvd with his computer instead of us having to pay for someone to video record it. Anyone else got some money saving tapes Id love to hear them.

As far as flowers go, I know that silk flowers are cheaper than fresh flowers so that can be a way to cute down on something. For everything else, you really have to shop around. However, whatever you do "DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT USE 'SUNSET DJ ENTERTAINMENT'" They are VERY cheap but dont show up 1/2 the time and when they do show up they play tapes!

I'm planning on getting married sometime in May (HURRAY! I finally am closer to setting the date!). I'm having such a hard time planning anything. I was the sister who was "never going to get married. All of my boy friends are like brothers, there's no way I'd marry one of them!" Now, lo and behold, I'm getting married! So, I decided to check out this thread and post my two-cents or more! :) My main problem is that I don't make very much money and neither does my family. I really have to find cheap ways for my wedding to workout. Does anyone have any ideas...on ANYTHING? It needs to be cheap, but I don't want anything along the lines of "runaway and get married in Vegas" type things. Thanks for all of your help and input.
