My serving set will be the same one used in my parents' wedding 30 years ago. It will probably fit into the something old category. I guess it could be used for something borrowed, but we'll have to see. I'm more into the weight loss than the wedding planning!!!

i went to a wedding last night and the bride is a friend that I went to school with. She offered that I could borrow some of her things. Earrings and bracelet, they were just gorgous so I think I will take her up on the offer!!

Hey there Vicki!
Don't be jealous - instead of a veil, I am wearing a fascinator... I got it at www.fascinators.net ... Have a look for ideas - they'e in Australia, but if you don't find what you want locally, they ship quickly, safely and reliably all over the world... Cindy, who owns the business, made mine for me especially - I just described my dress and jewelry, and what I had in mind... It's feathers and pearl beads on a metal comb, so I don't think there's any acrylic!
Good Luck!

I'm a little jelous! I'm allergic to polyester, and most synthetic fabrics, like rayon, lycra, spamdex, nylon, and acrylic. So a vail is out of the question.
I don't know what to wear. I haven't found anything in cotton or silk that doesn't have some polyester ribbon or something on it. I'm so allergic, that i'm allergic right through the dress. For instance. I can be wearing all cotton and be allergic to a couch I'm sitting on, right through my clothes. I have to wear a leather coat to a movie theatre, and put that over the whole seat. Oh yeah, plus I had to have all the linning changed to cottons in the coat. Sucks huh? Oh well, I'll work aroud it. I might just get my taylor to make me something fabulous.

... OK ...
So, Old will be my grandmother's pearl necklace...
New is a Fascinator (hair peice) that a friend designed and made for me...
Borrowed is an elegant, white winter cape borrowed from my fiance's grandmother...
And blue is the ribbon we are using to tie the bouquet - taken from the shirt my fiance was wearing the night we met (I like that one)
hope that helps...

I think it's an old tradition isn't it? I think I will do it for the fun of it... although I won't get worked up if I can find something.

I'm not making a big deal out of it, it's just one extra thing to worry about!

Hardly anything in my wedding is going to be traditional so I'm not going to put myself out of place about it, if I find stuff, then good. If I don't, meh who cares :)

Those are all really good ideas. I still don't know what I should use myself though. I might not even worry about it. Is it a big deal if I don't come with something old, new, borrowed, blue??

My sister and my sister-in-law both carried a gorgeous lace hankerchief that was my grandmothers when they got married...I'm supposed to be doing the same but I think my sister-in-law's lost it! Besides that I haven't thought about these much at all, like someone else said, I will now!

Hello, hello, hello. I was just curious what everyone is planning on using for their old, new, borrowed, blue? Are any of you saying forget the tradition? My mom is trying to come up with stuff to fit the tradition for me, but I don't know if I am liking her suggestions. Any thoughts?
