Hi everyone :)
Some designers sew in the zippers on samples so that the dress will fit all sizes. I think I tried on a Jasmine Couture that had that feature. The ladies in the salon should be able to clip the other dresses in the back if they are too small. Lots have a "seatbelt" type thingy in there, too, that is an elastic belt on the inside of the sample so that the skirt falls where it should on your body- no matter what size.
I say: if the people in the bridal shop say things like "i don't know what we have to fit you here..." go to a different shop! Give the commission to a nice person. People come in all shapes and sizes and that should be respected.
Your fiance loves you and wants to marry you as you are. Don't let some beotch in a bridal shop spoil your happiness. Have FUN dress-shopping! You only get married once!
*stepping down from soapbox now. hehehe*

well we got engaged 2 yrs ago and i was abt 150 lbs...this March when we started planning the wedding, i was 165 lbs...we went to look for wedding gowns and a saleslady told "wt that figure..i don't know what fits u"...i got mad and even though i wanted to lose weight for a while, i found SP and started my weight loss journey.
i'm 141 lbs now, just a few lbs away frm my healthy weight range. i'm ordering my gown next week b/c my wedding in on Nov 4th and the salon promised to finish the gown in 1 month. it's on corset and i can still lose some more by the wedding (pushing for 130 lbs)
just stick to SP and do ur best. u still have 5 months to lose weight and u can easily lose up to 30 lbs! i've lost 24 lbs so far in almost 5 months

| It'll be okay, I am the same size and I found lots of beautiful dresses to try on, it just took a little longer to find them. You'll find that dress you want, I know it and you'll have a beautiful wedding:)

Hi! I totally know how you feel about the wedding gown blues.... It took me a long time to work up the courage to go into a salon. Your best bet is to call around and see- I've found three stores in my area (KC) that have bigger sizes.. Once store I went to had sizes 2-32 IN STOCK!
Keep your chin up, keep working on it.. I'm sure you will be a lovely bride... Good luck!

Hi, I'm new to SP. I'm getting married 1/20/07 and about 75lbs too heavy. I can't seem to find a wedding dress and am starting to panic! I have absolutely hated every dress I've tried on (only about 5, but still!). Most salons just don't carry samples in size 20. And I seem to be in this vicious little circle of feeling bad about feeling unmotivated, etc. etc. till I find myself halfway through our engagement and at the same weight I was when he proposed.
Anyone have any suggestions for a sad, frustrated bride-to-be?
