I'm getting married in November and will be away for two weeks, but that's just more incentive to stay on track and not slip off the wagon after getting married.

Hello! Wow, what a positive response from so many wonderful people! I will be setting up the team tomorrow, but would like to run a few things by you first! Firstly, these are the topics I think we should have (reason & details in brackets)
1. Weekly Entries - Before 23h59 on Sunday (I think we should have several categories for the challenge & have 'winners' for each of these: Weight lost; Percentage lost; Minutes Exercised; Measurements)
(Weight lost: pounds, from one week to the next) (Percentage lost: weight lost/ total weight x100) (Minutes Exercised: Any form of fitness - Cycling; walking; Tae-Bo; Body strength; Yoga; Running; Pilates etc.) (Measurements: Waist - around belly-button; Hips - around largest part; Neck - around the centre)
2. Weekly Winners
3. Reason - Commitment - Goal - Reward (When we start the challenge, I think we should all post our motivation behind the weight loss & make a commitment to ourselves. I also think that there should be no prize as such - I think we should post what our reward to ourselves will be ie. when we reach our goal in 4 weeks, we treat ourselves. The same with 8 weeks & the major reward comes after 12 weeks. I also think that we should have a goal range, ie. if u lose 2 pounds in the 4 weeks, you get a little something... but if you lose 8...!! U get the idea... I also think that the reward should never be food!
4.Motivation & Support (I think this should be where we come when we need some advice or support... or when we have come across a really inspirational quote, tip etc. & want to share it with others)
5. Conversation Board (I think we need to have somewhere to go to just say 'hey!')
6. Daily Report (I think that it is really motivating & keeps a person on track when they have to be accountable daily. As we have a focus on exercise already, maybe we should have a tiny focus on food - just to keep us on track...? Eg. We should post whether we only ate when we were hungry & whether we gave into emotional hunger. Or whether we were tempted by the birthday cake at the office.)
I am really looking for suggestions on all of these things & have also been thinking about a few more things... I think that we should all take before & after pictures. They do not have to be in bikinis! Even if they are just of the face or fully clothed - whatever you fancy. They don't have to be our profile image; we can just post them on our sparkpage. I also think it would be great to have a team goal. Eg. Our ultimate weight loss should only be 2 pounds per week ie. 24 pounds each over the course of the challenge. I think that we should have a total goal loss of (24 pounds x no. of members) = Total weight lost. If there are members who would like to lose less, just let me know your maximum in advance. Again, I think we should have a goal range. I was thinking that due to us all being 1000's of miles apart, we should decide on minimum & maximum rewards that we could enjoy by ourselves (or with our families) & report back on. One silly example would bee a movie or something.

What a great idea - I know it would keep me motivated! Would you look at pounds lost or the percentage of weight lost? The weekly winners is a cool option to keep everyone's motivation up as well. I'll be sure to check the teams wednesday!

Hello!
This is a challenge to join together in this 'Weight Loss War'! I have been inspired by www.weightlosswars.com - please view this site for a better idea of what this challenge will be about & how the site works. We will set up a team & compete against each other in a 12 week challenge to see who can lose the most weight. (Although minutes excercised will also be taken into account) Although the site gives the impression that it is a 'war' against one another, I would prefer to view it as Our Team united in a 'War' against The Weight...! I will start setting up the Spark Team on Wednesday, 05 September. I have not yet done so because I am hoping for lots of suggestions & ideas from 'Future Team Members', as to how we should go about this, topics to include, whether there should be a prize, etc. On Saturday, 08 September,once we have all the necessary info from our members & we have decided on a game-plan, we can finalise everything & close the 'entrance' to the challenge. We will start the challenge on Monday 10 September & have our final weigh-in on 02 December.
I think this is going to be a wonderful challenge & VERY motvating. I look forward to hearing from you! xx
