Hey everyone,
I'm new to Spark People. Just wanted to say hi and congrats to everyone getting married in May - my big day is May 12th and I can't wait for it to be here. Hey! I'm getting married on May 19th too! Time is flying!!
I'm doing pretty good FINALLY ON my diet goals. I was 131 and my goal is 115. I was stuck at 125 for a while then got stuck for long time..super long at 121-122...I finally got to 119 last week!!

| Well, has anyone planned anything new here lately? I've been sick so not much has gone on for me. I think I finally picked out my invitations though. If you have family from out of state, are you paying for them to stay here or just helping them find a place to stay?

| That's pretty neat all the 5 stuff that you are doing. I plan on paying for my bridesmaid's hair and giving them jewerly. I know I will have 3 girls but I might have 4. I don't think that I am going to do the Cinco de Mayo thing. I forgot about it until someone asked me the same thing the other day. I chose the 5th because it is one day before our 7th anniversary and someone told me it was bad luck to get married on your anniversary. I don't know how true that is but anyways.

| We're not going to incorporate Cinco de Mayo into our wedding. I'm going to pay for the bridesmaids' jewelry and some other gifts. How many maids do you gals have? I have 5. That's kind of a theme...we started dating sept 5, getting married 5/5. got engaged after 5 years. 5 maids, 5 groomsmen. my engagement ring has 5 diamonds on each side of the main stone. i've got no idea how to make a number the theme of a wedding...maybe it'll just be a nice little story :)

| Oh, I forgot to add that I too am having my bridesmaids pay for their dresses. However, I am considering paying for them to get their hair and makeup done as well as giving them jewelry to wear to the wedding.

| Hello Ladies...I am getting married on may 27, 2007. We got engaged on our 6 year anniv. (April 13, 2006). Planning is crazy but sticking to my "diet" is harder. Hope we all reach our goals!

| I'm glad I'm not going to be the only one then having them pay for their own dresses. I kind of felt bad, but I figure they will understand. I have the colors picked out, we just have to go get them. Winning the lottery sounds good to me. You could have everything you want and some!

They are paying for their own dresses. I got that done early so I had a color to match things to and also because my bridesmaids don't really live close to me (or the dress shop!). With 8 months to go, I hope that I will the lottery...soon. hahahhaha

May 5th ladies...exactly 8 months to go!
so far we have for sure: reception spot, church, dj, bridesmaid dresses
we are working on: officiant (he needs an OK from the church), photog is this weekend, limo, blocking off hotel rooms, flowers and other decor sept 11, wedding gown
haven't even started: tuxes, invites, save-the-dates, other stuff for the out-of-towners, honeymoon, music for ceremony
there's so much more to do...kind of overwhelming.

| I have got my dress, booked the ceremony site and reception place(all in one thank goodness) and I have started picking out flowers and pricing them. I'm mainly picking up the little things that I can right now. The next thing on my list though is invitations and picking out what all foods I want for the reception. I have it pretty much planned out and wrote down...I just have to start actually doing everything!

| Yes, a little...I am planning our budget and my mother is sewing my dress and I am expecting a pattern and fabric swatches from her in the mail soon. Also, I have priced the flowers, cake, and the invitations. The rings are on layaway and I cannot wait to get them out...but I need to be patient. :)

| The way I look at it on my dress is by getting it the size I am now, I'm not pushing myself to hard to lose weight but it does give me the incentive to lose weight because I know how I look in it. And I want to look better.

I went to David's Bridal and she told me to get the size I am now and then they would take it in. SHe told me that they can always take it in quite a bit but only let it out about two more sizes. I don't plan on letting it out at all!!! I tried on 3 dresses and wound up getting the first one I tried on and it wasn't even what I planned on getting. But I fell in love with it.

hi again,
how does the whole dress size thing work when you know you'll be losing weight? am i supposed to order the size i am in now or a couple of sizes smaller?
i still haven't decided on the dress...i have it down to 2 choices. i should probably get moving on that!

| Yeah...I'm pretty anxious. Getting a photographer is next on my list. I already got my dress, so that's motivation for me to lose weight. When I get it altered...I hope it gets taken in quite a bit. We got engaged January 25,2005. We are getting married one day before our 7th anniversary. I'm real excited!!!
