I am aiming to lose around 35 pounds by May, so I can get my dress fitted.
Have a nice day!

Hey girls, I am getting married on June 30, 2007. The big planning is done, just the little details remain.
We are having a civil ceremony at the location of the reception.

I've been engaged now for 8 days, and we're getting hitched on 06/01/07 (chicagoland) -- can't wait.
Fortunately I have the dress already (from ebay) though I haven't tried it on since buying it. Eeek. I'm nervous.
I have a lot of the little stuff (DIY invites, placecard holders, etc) but we still don't know where we're gonna do it all at. I'm hoping that because it's a Friday, places may be still available because we are pretty adament on the date.

hi ladies! I used to be on sparkpeople all the time, and then came the bar exam (I'm a lawyer) and I definitely fell off the wagon. With that whole horrible exam behind me I am here again to lose the 20 lbs I want to for my June 10 wedding. Off to the gym for me now- gotta get moving

LOL - black and gold are University of Iowa colors (go Hawks!)
Anyone getting ready for a halter or strapless dress should try out the Bhagra dance workout - I did the FitTV All Star Workout version this morning, and was really feeling it in my shoulders - your arms are held out for a majority of the workout. It's a good aerobic workout, too :)

Thanks for the encouragement! I'm really feeling good about what I'm doing this time - I've tried to lose the weight in the past, and "fell off the wagon" before I even really got going. Something feels different this time, and I can't put my finger on it - but I KNOW that this time the pounds will come off (hopefully by June :) )
On the planning front - I still haven't booked a caterer or a photographer (EEEK!)
Our colors are going to be black/gold(yellow)
How about all you other June brides??

| Hello! I am getting married on June 2, 2007. I would like to lose 21 pounds for the wedding, but my real goal is have the weight lost by my bachelorette party (about a month before). That way my dressmaker can have time to make my dress look perfect on me at my new size. Good luck everyone.

| Hiya! My wedding is June 23rd (1 day before our 2 1/2 year anniversary! his idea too) and we're basically done planning, we still have to go pick tuxes and a cake, but other than that we're good. Our colors are the colors of his fraternity, Red and Grey. We're using his fraternity flower a lot, thats the red carnation. So i'm excited about that, he's a great guy. I'm sure as it gets closer I'll get more and more stressed, but i have an awesome Maid of Honor AND a Matron of Honor to help me through it.

Hi ladies. My name is Amber, my wedding is June 2nd. I have pretty much everything planned except the pianoist and soloist, and decorations and invitations. I have 15 pounds to lose before hand too. Two of my bridesmaids will be pregnant at my wedding and both of them are my sisters. One will be 9months along and the other 6months, I was able to get the first sisters size changed before the order was sent in but I just found out about my other sister and was unable to change the size. I really don't know what to do about it because I know she will not be able to fit into a size 10 at 6months pregnant. ARGH!!!! But other than that no dilemmas. lol.
Hope all the planning is going well for you all.

I've got the dress pattern and color picked, have a seamstress, am meeting with her when we go back to CO in December. Also have the site- which includes the photographer, flower arrangements, suite for the weekend of the wedding, and possibly the cake replacement (we don't want a cake). My sister is the officiant, so that's taken care of-- also have the decor colors picked out, possible flowers, music and an idea for who will cater the food.
We're having a very, very small wedding so now that the big plans are taken care of, all the details are just fun to think about.

Hey ladies-- my fiance and I are getting married on June 3rd. : ) Have about ten-fifteen pounds that I want to lose, which is manageable. I had already started to lose weight before I even met my fiance, then a bunch of stress fell into both our lives which caused me to gain back ten pounds I'd already lost, so I just want to get back to where I was (plus a few pounds more, if I can manage).
I'd joined SparkPeople during my inital weight-loss endeavor but never really "got into it" because it was just starting out. After looking around tonight it seems like it's upgraded a lot since I last looked, so I'm looking forward to using it more regularly this time around.

I got down to 169 in April, but then after several months of being on the road , eating out everyday...I slowly creeped back up. Good luck with your workout. I have a major exam on Tuesday and have not had time to go the gym...but I have been eating healthy...hopefully Wed. Hi Everyone - hope there is room for one more in here! I just recently started using spark people - definitely like it so far! I was on weight watchers online for a while (since around Christmas), but didn't feel like it was worth the money anymore since I was just using the food tracker, which I can use here!
I'm getting married on June 9 and am looking to really tone up my stomach for those honeymoon beach days... I just started going to the gym again this past week and feel great - at least 4 days a week now. It's tough to go at 9ish once I get home, but I feel awesome when I get back!

| I like Texas a lot! I was never a big fan of the winter months living in Michigan so I don't miss snow and cold weather at all! I love Houston...there is so much to do here! It is hard being so far from my family but there is so much opportunity for us here.
|

Well, my fiance lives there now, due to the Air Force, he just moved to Abilene in March...that is where he is stationed. We will be there for about another 4 years or so, and see if he gets relocated or not. If he does get relocated, we are hoping for New Jersey...then the base will only be about 2 hours from our hometown.
How do you like Texas?
|
|
|

I am living in Houston. I moved away from my family to live here too as I'm originally from Michigan. Its been tough being so far away but at least I have my fiance. Does your fiance already live in Texas or will it be new to both of you?

Hi Vinning,
CONGRATULATIONS!
Just wondering, what part of Texas do you live in. I'm actually going to be moving to Texas after my wedding, June 9, 2007. I'm trying to find a network from friends now, to have when I move there. :-) Something to keep me saine, since I'm moving away for the first time from my family.
Well, again...congratulations and good luck with everything. :-)

Hi there!
I'm getting married on June 30, 2007. The wedding will be in mid-Michigan but I am living in Texas. We have booked our ceremony and reception site (basically the same place), we have a DJ and cake baker and I picked out my dress last fall.
We're working on photographer and florist right now. I just found out a won a drawing for free bride's bouquet and groom's bout so I'll probably go with that florist.
As far as weight loss, I'd like to lose at least 30 lbs to be healthy but if I can lose even 10-15 by the wedding I think that would be great! When I bought my dress last fall it fit me but I've gained some weight since then. Planning to take it slow and healthy.
I'm having trouble right now because I'm basically working three jobs and it doesn't leave much time for excercise. Meals used to be a problem with that schedule too but I've worked harder to plan ahead so I don't feel like I'm forced to make bad decisions!

Hi everyone! I don't get too much time to play around on this website, but I had some extra time and here I am!
Anyway, I am from Baltimore, Maryland and I am getting married on June 23, 2007. My colors are turquoise and white with pink accents. We started planning everything in February so we have a lot completed already. Ceremony/recepetion site, officiant, photographer, DJ, cake, bridesmaid dresses, centerpieces, favors, invitations (picked out, not ordered yet), toasting flutes, cake cutter & server, cake topper....I think that's it for now.
I have been slacking on choosing a wedding dress b/c I wanted to tone up a little. I am hoping to hear from otehr brides to be and learn what they are doing to prepare for their big day. Hopefully we can keep each other motivated and stay on track!
Good luck ladies!

hey I'm getting married on June 6 2007!
Just started this program and I'm hoping to loose quite some pounds... I'm from the Netherlands...
Haven't picked out a dress yet, haven't got my colors picked out either. We won't have Brides Maids, so I don't think I'll need special colors for them. I love Sunflowers (that's my name here) so I'm hoping to choose a bouquet with sunflowers. A friend of mine saw a "normal" bouquet with sunflowers and red roses, and she said they looked absolutely stunning, so perhaps I'll see if that's possible...

Hey Lindy...
What is the bootcamp at the YMCA like? Is it pricy? I have one near me...and I just ended my gym membership because I didn't use it for over 10 months...and with the wedding and all...I can't afford it any longer either.
But maybe that is a good program to give me a good jump start. :-) It definitely sounds interesting.

Hey Noreen and fellow June brides... I am from Chester County, PA... Phoenixville to be exact.
I have begun my process... I too cut out soda. I would love to give up coffee but it just isn't gonna happen right now. :) That's why God invented Splenda!
I am starting bootcamp at the YMCA in September, so that should whip me into shape, or at least, get me on the right path...
WW worked for me before, and I thought about going back, but I have a very demanding schedule and quite honestly, I'm not sure I can dedicate to the committment.
Anyway... thanks for the welcome and I look forward to communicating both my success and hearing about everyone's here, soon!
|
|

|
Hi Lindy...
Well first off Congratulations!
I'm also a June 9, 2007 bride! It's very exciting. I'm also looking to loose about 30 lbs, I have been walking every night and invested in a Thigh Master, I have cut out Soda completely...but I do have a cup of coffee every now and then. I haven't weighted myself yet, because I just seriously started with SparkPeople...and watching my calories and types of liquids I drink last week...I'm starting week 2. So I'll be weighing in on Monday!
But if I can think of any other tips for you... I will definitely let you (and everyone on here) know about them.
Where are you from exactly? - just wondering!
GOOD LUCK!

Hi everyone! June 9, 2007 here... and ready to lose 30-40 lbs. Think I can do it?! I am an avid soccer player, and I just joined the Y, but my biggest problem is that last year I lost 30 lbs because I upped my exercise level to 4-5 days a week and have maintained that... but unfortunately I put the weight back on in a year and now I'm struggling to take it off again.
Consequently I lost the weight for my best friend's wedding in April '05 (i was m-o-h) so if I can do it for hers, I most certainly can do it for mine!
Any suggestions? :)
|
|
|

So...how is everyone doing so far.
I would just like to say that I'm getting over my SLUMP!!! I walked for about 2 hours last night! It felt great when I got home. I didn't immediately loose any weight or anything...but it's a start. I have received my Thigh Master in the mail and will be starting with that this evening! Excited!!!
I haven't heard much from the group...So just wanted to see how all was going? Hopefully well.

Thanks RGLASER! I became a vegetarian few years ago that helped really good. And then I started leaving out sugarholding food (not the natural sugars). So it's most fruit and veggies now for me.
That did the trick...I lost almost 30 kilo's and now I want to go further than that and that's why I started sparking. I really HAD to go on SP. It really helps..tracking all kinds of stuff.
Good luck to you too.

OK...EXCITED!!!!
I got my Thigh Master in the other day. Yes...THE Thigh Master! I know sounds silly...but it will work the areas that I need to have worked. My inner thighs, outer thighs, hips, stomach, chest and arms!
So I am going to start with that today! Every evening I'm going to do a different routine with it. And this weekend I cleaned out the back room so I can at least use my stepper too! :-D
So...let see how this works. Can wait! Hopefully I'll be able to loose a few Something!
How is everyone else doing? I'm still afraid to weight myself...because I don't think I have lost anything...if that I'm pretty sure that I've gained. :-(
But I'm going to work out all this week and weekend and come Monday morning again...I'll weigh myself to see!
Good Luck!

I'm cycling every day about 45 minutes, burning 300 cals. But Noreen, you can walk half an hour or something every day, you don't need equipment for that! And check out the strenght training exercises from Spark People, you don't need instruments to do the strengt training. Use a chair or push up against the wall. It's really something you should check out, I started strenght training just 2 weeks ago and it's fun. Much easier than I suspected.
Good luck!
P.S. I am a july bride, but for a long time now.....I married 6-7-89...that is 6 of july, 1989.

| How else is everyone loosing weight? I just started spark people so I need to be filled in.
|
|
|
|
| I am working out about an hour a day. I carry most of my weight in my legs and back side;) I am 5'10'' so the rest of the weight just goes evenly to everywhere else. So I have been riding a stationary bike and using the eliptical machine. My challenge is not working out, it is eating right. Being a senior in college does not make it easy to not stress eat!
|
|
|
|
WOW! Lacy7707...what are you doing that you are loosing the weight so much?????
Congratulations! On the wedding and the weight lose!
I'm hoping the same thing. I got my dress already, but I'm hoping that maybe I won't have the hips to show and maybe get it altered smaller as well. Or just have it lay better on my lower body!
~N

|
|
|
| Hi! I am not a june bride~JULY but can I be in the group anyways?? I am getting married 7/7/07. I recently purchased my dress because it was discontinued and I had to get it ASAP. I chose to buy a size too small in order to motivate myself. Its getting down to crunch time and I'm gettin seriuos about gettin in that dress, and maybe even having it altered smaller!
|
|
|
|
My issue is... I don't know what exercises to do. I actually just ordered a Thigh Master...I know sounds silly...but I thought that doesn't take up much room and I should be able to do it.
Something that I can work the thighs, hips, arms and chest.
I like the way I am besides the middle... then again...isn't it always the middle??? I just don't have anything toned there. I sit and everything spills over! I HATE IT! But I am going to work on it.

Don't cry! Start exercising for only 10 minutes a day, or three times a week! And then maybe a little difference will come your way. And maybe when you do these 10 minutes...you will want to make that 15 minutes every day or 3 times a week.
It's babysteps that will get you there and a lot of patience. And your thighs, well, they are yours and your mom should know that commenting them is not done, despite her being your mom.
You should want to lose the weight for YOU and not for someone else. So good luck, you can do it!
P.S. very important: be sure to stay in your calorie range and not under it! Because staying under means your body will lower digestion and you will not lose the weight as quick as you would want to.

Honestly... I'm not doing so well with the weight thing. I just can't seem to loose anything. I just stay constant. I can eat nothing but fruit, do the heavy house cleaning, light snacks, small portions and everything...and my weight doesn't budge.
I'm rather upset with the fact. I just can't seem to get the motivation to do anything. I don't want to exercise; I don't have the area, or energy. I know excuses, excuses...but this is how it is with me.
Even my mother commented on my Thighs the other day! I just wanted to cry.
I still do.

| I see lots of June 9, 2007 brides-to-be on here. Woohoo! That's my date, too! I have my site reserved, attendants picked(easy enough, they are all my kids!), guest list made and favors made (only because peaches won't be ripe on my wedding day so I made peach jam instead-my fiance brought a basket of peaches when we met so I wanted to incorporate that somehow) and that's about it. lol I have lots to do and it will take time. I have classes starting soon so there won't be much time to do anything after that. Now...to get serious about this weight issue.... I don't want to try on dresses till I lose some weight.

ESPIONS-- I am in the EXACT same boat-- same date, same stuff reserved, and a friend who's DJing for super cheap. And I, too, and completely overwhelmed with all the planning to come! I just went back to college (after about 9 or so years away), I work 4-5 nights a week, and I have a 4 year old daughter to take care of. I barely have time to SHOWER, let alone take time to meet with photogs, florists, etc!! It's crazy, but hopefully it'll all come together, huh??!

Hello everyone...
I know I haven't been around lately, just been busy. My fiancé is home for two weeks from the Air Force, so I have been spending most of my time with him. It's hard, his first week home, we had so many appointments to go to and everything. But we finally picked a date...June 9, 2007! YEAH!!! :-)
So, we have the church, the reception area, the tuxes, my dress, grooms men, and colors. Everything else I'm working on, my bridal party, invitations, photographer, DJ, etc, etc, etc. We did look into The Pros, they were good, and packages were Really nice, but they were expensive as well...so we are going to shop around. But it's a bit different here in Philadelphia; everything is either already booked or over priced. :-(
My diet this week...not so good, out every night with a different crowd, catching up with his old friends, and as for the work out part...forget that…I'm stuck on lazy and exhausted this week. But he leaves again this Friday, so...You know what that means...Starting Saturday I'm going to get myself back on track with eating right and daily routine exercise; I’m actually going to start the Slim Fast Optima plan. My only down fall is...I Never had an exercise routine, so I'm going to start out basic, any tips on an easy first time routine, that would be great!
KEEKO14 - I know what you mean with the whole paying for the wedding yourself. My fiancé and I are doing the same, right now with saving and all, we are literally living paycheck to paycheck, and I'm actually looking for a second job to help out. My parents are giving us some, and I'm not sure about his parents yet. So we are looking for “the good price, good quality” when we are shopping around.
MARINESLADY - How do you do it? I don't know how I would be with my husband in the Marines...let alone in the Air Force right now. I mean I miss him so much, he actually proposed to me as soon as he walked off the Parade Grounds right after his graduation from boot camp. I was shocked and excited all at the same time. I would love to talk to you about how the military life is with you when you can.
Well ladies we are all working on a similar goal, and I know we can do this, and sharing stories I know helps me!
Congrats to all! :-)

KISSYKRISSY - We are on a tight budget, but decided to splurge on a photographer. Everytime I tell FI the cost of something to do with the wedding I think that his eyes are going to pop out of his head (we're paying for it on our own). I found one who does it independently from her home, but still is professional, has a website, etc. We're getting engagement photos, pic cd, 2 8x10s, 20 pg. hardcover album, and 8 hours of coverage on the wedding day for $900. After searching, I thought that wasn't too bad. If you haven't already, you should check on www.theknot.com and go to your local message board, that's where I end up getting most of my info on good deals for vendors.
As for the videographer, we're having our friend, who is also husband of the MOH tape our wedding. That way we'll have it, even though it might not be super professional.

| HI! Im a June bride too...Kinda. Im already married but my hubby and I didnt get to have a real wedding yet because he got deployed again so when he gets home this spring we are gonna put the finishing touches on a June 9th wedding. I think the fact that he isnt here right now really helps with the weight loss though! I miss him like crazy but I cant wait to see the look on his face when he sees me 15-20 lbs lighter and in better shape!!

| June 10, 2007. We got engaged in October, and I started the planning and weight loss right away, but now the planning has pretty much come to a stop, need a little break. But I have to start back up soon with photographers and videographers and they are by far the most stressful! sooo expensive! June's the greatest month though! And we're less than a year away

Hi everyone, I too am a June 2007 bride. I am getting married June 22 and I think I have the most to lose, but I know I can do it. I live in Nashua, NH but am getting married in Plymouth, MA because my fiance and I both lived near there until last year when we moved to Nashua. I have an 8 year old son and my fiance has a 4 year old daughter so we are busy, busy, busy. So far for the wedding we have our reception site (with caterer) and our band. I also have my moh, and bridesmaids picked out but my fiance is still deciding on his side. Our flower girl will be his daughter and my son will walk her down the aisle. It's nice to *meet* all of you. -Terri

Hello everyone! I've been slacking on the diet a bit lately... well, not so much the diet but the working out part. I've been studying late into the night and I'm having trouble getting up early enough to workout before my horrendously long day begins! Last week was ok, but this week-- forget it! I failed a chem. test last Thursday, so I've been focusing on that. Only 2 weeks of that class to go, thank God!!!! Going back to college after so long is not as easy as I thought it would be, that's for sure.
So, KISSYKRISSY, I haven't seen too many results with turbo jam yet. But a few pairs of my pants fit a tiny bit better, so that's a start!! I did the Cardio Jam workout 3 times last week. Nada this week but I am planning on going back to a routine STARTING MONDAY!!!! (don't we all say that.... ) I'm getting married in a church in Middleburg Hts. (Pleasant Hills Methodist) and the reception is at Wagner's in Westlake. I'd love to have an outdoor wedding!! Yours will be awesome! Do you live up by the lake?
Welcome to all the new people here!

Hey everyone!
How has the week/weekend been going for everybody else? I have been having a similar problem sort of where I eat healthy and get my recommended calories, and workout tons but then don't see any changes on the scale. I have been doing Pilates though, and so I think the reason is because i'm gaining muscle (as i'm losing weight). So we'll see how that goes...
As far as wedding details, it's still sort of early for me so I haven't started planning anything yet...I'm excited for all that!

| Hello girls!! I am a June bride too. I have only a few pounds to lose, but its been the hardest few pounds ever. I have weighed the exact same since highschool, only gaining then losing about 3 pounds. I am not the most overly motivated person, but I plan to stick with it this time!!! I am from Manitoba, Canada. I am also been working as a nurse for a year, which is the problem to be healthy. Shift work kills that!!! By bodies perception of when to eat is very distorted. But I figure with a stressful full time job, specializing in NICU courses, and planning a wedding.. if I dont make any healthy changes I will be heading into burn out mode fast. Not something I thought would ever be the possibility at age 24!! Anyway, best of luck to you all, Charity

Hey everyone! This board has been kinda dead! Hopefully we can revive it.
How's everyone doing? Losing weight? Getting in shape? I would like to say that I am doing all of the above, but for some reason even with eating really well 1200-1500 cal. and working out 5 days (hard) last week, I didn't lose anything. :( But I'm not giving up. The wedding and honeymoon is all the motivation I need! I'll keep on truckin.
I saw a really good friend of mine this weekend. She was the same size as me in college, and we gained the same amount of weight and sizes. Well, she's lost 40 lbs (which is what I want to lose) by doing weight watchers and working out. Seeing her gave me the picture of what I will look like when I get to my goal weight. She looked fantastic! So I am seriously thinking about joining weight watchers. Any thoughts on that? I am already eating well, but not logging what I eat. I am working out consistently, too. Do I need weight watchers?
I read a terrific book and I really recommend it to everyone. It's called Tales from the Scale, and it's about 7 women who are trying to lose weight/get into shape. Each one talks about her childhood and what made her gain weight, and how it feels to be heavy/out of shape. It's a really inspiring book. There were so many things in the book that I can relate to.
SOON2BWED- Have you seen any results with Turbo Jam? I agree, I was floored when I got the videos and noticed they were on two dvds. I guess it's practical. But it's not cheap. I've been rotating mine on an every other day cycle. I will do Turbo and the next day, I do the FIRM. I think that the firm is a harder and more challenging workout, and I sweat a lot more doing that. But Turbo is really fun. You're from Cleveland? YAY! Another Ohioan. Where are you getting married? I'm getting married up on Lake Erie at Lakeside, Ohio.
Welcome to AGALLIMO and KEEKO14!!! I hope your wedding planning is going well! We were talking about how hard it is to picture what everything will look like together. I am also having trouble matching shades of colors. It seems like there are 5000 different shades of pink. I am trying to make table runners for the centers of my tables, but I can't find a fabric that looks elegant and matches the shade. UGH!
I also wanted to know if you are all getting professional photographers. We have hired a friend of the family that does amateur photography, and it's really cheap. Like $300 for all the negatives and proofs. He did my fiance's sister's wedding and I wasn't all that impressed. Do you think we should splurge for a professional? Are you getting a videographer?
Okay, I'll let you ladies go. I hope that you have a great day and week! We CAN do this!!!

Hey everybody! Our wedding is set for June 30, 2007. I'm from Lansing, Michigan and our colors are going to be red, silver, and black. I have my dress already, actually it's the first thing I got...found a great deal and couldn't pass it up :) We also have our site picked (going to do ceremony and recep. at same site) and photographer. I'm a teacher so I'm trying to get as much done during this summer as possible, so I don't have to do so much during the school year. Good luck to everyone in their planning...it's so much work! But I know it will all be worth it in the end.

Hi. I am getting married on June 9, 2007. My colors are light purple and various light shades of blue I have the reception and ceremony booked and the officiant booked- that's it. Trying to get a photographer and DJ booked soon as well. I am from Olathe Kansas. Anyway- just wanted to say Hi to you all!!

I have the 5 workouts for TJ. Though I've only done the 20 and 40 minute workouts so far. I don't have small weights at home so I haven't done the Sculpting one. Mostly because I use TJ more for cardio then strength training.
It's definitely hard to picture what the finish product will look like. I want to do floating candles in a short wide bowl at the reception, and it's definitely cheaper to order them online, but I'm worried they won't look good. It's just so hard to not plan, because some details just can't be done this early.
Everyone's colors seem so pretty!

Hey!
I'm actually from Minnesota too :) I'm thinking for my colors I want to do white and then little touches of yellow, especially since it's summer. I also love the color yellow. I just started doing Pilates so there's not tons of results i'm seeing yet, but I do have to say my arms and abs seem a little more toned...and they are so sore! it's great though, i've heard you can get so toned from pilates. I also run quite a bit too so between those too hopefully i'll be nice and in shape.

I'm from Cleveland (area) Ohio.
I've got all the turbo jam DVD's that KISSYKRISSY mentioned except for the booty jam. I ordered it throught the Beachbody website and I just got whatever came with the set. But, all the 5 workouts are actually on just 2 DVDs, which I wasn't expecting for the insane amount of money it cost! It also came with the book (with the moves, diet plan, measurement card, etc)and a really cheap tape measure. Oh well, when I'm hot and skinny it will be worth the price (that my fiance paid, btw)! I wish I would have known it was cheaper on QVC!!
I have a REALLY hard time visualizing what all my wedding stuff will look like put together! I think that's why I'm at a standstill with planning right now- I don't know what to do next. I want to make my favors, but everytime I come up with an idea, I feel like it looks like some middle school art project. LOL!!!
Hope everyone is having a good day!!

Wow!!! We are posting away on this board! Lots to reply to. Here goes...
Noreen- I'm from Columbus O-H-I-O! I just LOVE turbo jam. The instructor (Chalene is her name) is so much fun. There are times in the video you just dance. And I love dancing! I got my turbo jam from QVC. There are six videos that come in that particular set. There's Learn and Burn (you learn her lingo and the moves, turbo jam (a quick paced workout), Turbo Sculpt (workout with weights), Ab Jam (ab work), Cardio Party (my favorite- a 45 min. workout), and Booty Sculpt (haven't tried this yet, but I think it works your booty!!!) The qvc site has it advertised for the least amount of money, and it comes quicker than through the actual turbo jam site. I am very pleased with it so far. I just read about your dress on this post. It sounds beautiful. Your mom crying really helped with the decision, didn't she? Do you have any pics of you in the dress, or the number of the style? I'd love to see it!!! We only get to obsess about this wedding stuff once, you know! I love the thought of tying color in with the dress. It really brings in a different element! I am personally down to 2 dresses. The dress in my profile is the only one of the two that I have pics in. The problem is that the dress is like $600 more than the other one. What's your knot site address? I have a knot site too. I think my knottie name is kissykrissy as well.
ARLUM- I am also getting married outside at the lake!! Lake Erie, though!!! How cool!!! You have plenty of time for those details for your wedding. I love the idea of a photo theme! It's perfect because I am sure you have photos! Do you find it hard to visualize what everything is going to look like put together? I am having that problem. I have all these ideas, but I don't know what they will look like as the finished project! And I just read that you do turbo jam too!! Yay!! What's your favorite tape/dvd to workout to? Have you been seeing results yet??
Wow, I wrote a lot more than I intended to. I guess I am long-winded. Hee hee. Anyway, it's noon and I'm not dressed yet. I haven't worked out yet either, so I am off to do The Firm this morning. Have a great day, ladies!!!!

I love the Ab Lounge...at first when I started to use it, I would get off and think I did nothing. Then the next morning, I would definitely feel it in my core...and not in my back or shoulders or any other place. And you can do the side crunches on it as well which work those "love handles"...which is great, cause those are the areas that I need to work on.
Where did you get your turbo jam videos, and which set do you have, there seems to be a lot of them.
I just canceled my gym membership, cause I wasn't using it, I haven't gone in a year...and at home I just got a stepper, the Ab Lounge, and pilate videos (which I haven't tried yet either.) I'm so bad at this... I'll get everything that I need to work out and get fit, but I don't use them... LOL! But that is going to change.

I'm in Minnesota. We're getting married in Duluth, MN, which is on Lake Superior. Hopefully the weather will be amazing so we'll get great outdoor pics.
I belong to a gym, so I use the treadmill, elliptical, and stationary bike for cardio. I also do turbo jam at home when I don't feel like going to the gym. I do free weights and circuit machines for strength training.
How do you like your Ab lounge? I don't mind doing normal crunches, but sometimes I wonder if I'm using all my ab muscles.

Hello everyone,
Just wondering where exactly everyone is from? I'm from the Roxborough/Manayunk area of Philadelphia. Also, does anyone have yahoo instant messenger?
Also, what type of exercise or equipment is everyone using? I have purchased an Ab Lounge and working on that a few nights a week, and I also have a stepper...just trying to get some ideas.
Have a good one!

Hi ladies,
My date is June 23rd, 2007. We have the church, reception, DJ, and photographer booked. The wedding party is only going to be my sister and his brother, so that helps cut down on the planning.
We're going to do name card/photo frames as favors. And then have different pictures of us at each table and see if people can guess where we were when we took the photo. Kinda a photo theme, without really meaning to.
Haven't really picked colors yet. I'm thinking lavender or periwinkle. I figure when I start looking at bridesmaid dresses something will pop out at me. Don't have a dress yet, waiting for my mom to come to town to go shopping with me.
Anyway, sorry so long! Good luck on your goals ladies!

Kristen,
Glad to have a friend on here as well and I hope to make more in the future! :-)
As for my dress, I lucked out...I went to David's Bridal and looked on the website, found four that I liked. My first one that I tried on...I was in love with, but I continued to try one the other three. Then it came down to two, the first one and the third one. Well, with price difference and the fact that I just about came out of the dressing room crying with my first dress on...I knew that one was THE ONE! Even my mother, and soon to be mother-in-law where crying. It was funny. :-)
But my dress is really simple, white satin, strapless, with a cuff at the top, and I'm going to wear a Periwinkle color sash around my waist that flows down the whole back of the dress as well...it's simple but yet gorgeous at the same time. I walked out that day with the dress, head piece, vial, shoes, and skirt...it was a great feeling to have something accomplished. :-)
Oh, I'm also registered on The Knot...I LOVE that website...it has helped me out with so much.
As for the rest of planning goes...I'm all over the board, I have a reception area, and my church, but I don't have an exact date yet...it's ridiculous.
Well, sorry so long. Just some ideas as they flow.

Yahooooo!!!! This is so exciting, all of us getting married in the same month!! It's so fun to share this with other people. :) Awesome!
SOONTOBWED- I'm so glad to hear that others use turbo jam and The Firm. I love turbo jam! Chalene really motivates and challenges me. I haven't gotten all they way through cardio party yet. It's easy to follow, but hard for me to do. I try to do a little more every day. Today I got to the TURBO part and had to stop. Someday I'll be able to do it all... Do you have the whole turbo set? (As in Cardio 2 and 3?) NORDSTRA- What kind of step class do you go to? Have you seen any results with the Pilates? I tried it a couple times and ended up VERY sore. NOREEN- Hey, thanks for adding me as a friend!!! I'm excited! Tell me more about your wedding dress! I am currently having people vote on my dress on The Knot and Myspace because I am having a really tough time deciding between the top two. :)
As far as planning goes, I have a lot done so far. I am into the details like ringbearer pillow, decorations, etc.
Well, hope you ladies had a great day!!! Remember, nothing tastes as good as thin feels...especially on your wedding day!!!

Hey there! I love the turbo jam so far! I did it twice when I got it, and just did it a few more times this week. I skipped the learn and burn and started with the 20 min. workout a few times, then I moved to the Cardio Jam. I didn't do anything today because I was in school all morning and I have to leave for work soon, but I'll get a little exercise running around there. I also have the Firm. I used to do it a lot, but I just got bored with it and I hated having to drag out the stepper and the weights everytime. Also, I got sick of how they switch up between everything so often. But I DID used to do it religiously and saw results. That was 2 years ago before I got LAZY... lol! Before I got turbo jam I was doing a really cheezy Tai-Fit DVD from 1999. It was quick and intense, so I liked that one too.
My wedding colors are going to be red and purple w/ a little yellow for accents. It sounds weird, but it looks great together. I'm also on the Knot, and that's where I get a lot of great ideas. I am also most likely making my own favors too. I love doing that kind of stuff. What is everyone doing/ buying for their favors?
Ooh, this is long!! Sorry! Talk to everyone soon!

| hey! I also am getting married June 16, I'm way excited... I have just gotten into this new Pilates phase and I think that's really good for toning all over, especially what they call your "core"--your abs, inner thighs and butt. Working out has been going really good actually. I usually like running but I just got into this mood where I was getting sick of it so two days ago I tried a step class at the gym and then yesterday I went to pilates, let me say, i'm sore! :) ha hope everything's going well for you guys! that protein drink diet sounds interesting, let me know how it goes :) peace

Hey everyone,
I, too, am a June 2007 bride. I don't have a date picked out yet, but working on that part. I would like to loose about 30 pounds before my wedding date.
Currently I’m at 168, and mostly around my hips and stomach. So if anyone has any exercise tips for those “problem” areas…that would be great. I'm just starting a diet of fruit and protein drinks all day. So far so good, but it's tough... I miss the "solid" food. I haven't tried any videos or anything either, but I will look into THE FIRM, I have heard good things about that before. And last week I did buy the Ab Lounge...but I haven't been on it yet. I'm really starting out slow here. :-( I just can't seem to motivate myself to do anything like that. But I'm going to push and try.
As for wedding plans…I do have my dress already, and the reception area in mind, and getting married in my local church. My colors are Periwinkle and cream. My soon-to-be is in the Air Force and I went with the blue theme because he will be wearing his formal blues.
Well I hope all is well with everyone and can't wait to hear from you soon.
:-) ~Noreen

Hi you two! I, too, am getting married next June... June 16th, to be exact, and I have a ton of weight to lose. I'd like to lose 40-50 pounds. I finally have my eating habits under control and I am also doing TURBO JAM. What do you think of it so far? I just finished my 2nd day. On my off days, I do THE FIRM or Dance Dance Revolution.
As far as the wedding planning is going, I've been engaged since August of 2006. We are taking it slow because I was in my second year of teaching, but in a new grade level and I didn't want the stress of planning a wedding on top of everything. I have a lot done so far. I'm actually into the little things like making favors and such. Since I'm a teacher, I have this month pretty much to get in shape and plan for a wedding. :)
My colors are pink, pink, and more pink!!! I love pink!!! I'm just using different shades. What about you guys?
Let's keep in touch on here! We've got something WONDERFUL in common!!!
:) Kristen

Hello! I'm Heather and I'm getting married June 30th, 2007. Yeah, a motovational group would be great. I find myself being lazy many, many days! Last week I pretty much blew this, but I am back! I got turbo jam about a week or 2 ago, and I LOVE it! It's fun and it's challenging, but it doesn't really feel like a workout because you get to throw in your own silly dance moves too.
So, how's your planning going? Me- I've reserved the church and reception hall, but that's it so far. What's your colors?

| Hey! My name's Bri and I'm getting married next June! Soooo excited... I don't have tons of weight to lose, but I really need to tone up before the wedding and trying on the dress! Then the work is just to maintain everything--which is definitely hard work...I wanted to see if any of the june brides wanted to have a little group to keep each other motivated! Some days I'm so lazy and it'd definitely be good to have people to keep me going! Good luck with the weight loss everyone! Keep it going!
