Thank you for your words of encouragement, ladies.
CALIGIRL, you look after yourself. Now is no time to get sick. It does sound like a tummy bug, though, so it shouldn't last too long. just keep drinking plenty of water.
We've just been for a walk along a rocky bit of coastline we've never been to before. It was awesome. There was a huge rock arch that you could clamber through, & big gullys cut into the cliffs by millions of years of waves & land movement. I think I may have burned a few calories, but I'm not sure what to put it down as on the tracker.
Catch you later, Helen.

GO HELEN! you're doing great! :-)
I stayed home sick yesterday. It felt like food poisoning or a stomach flu. I couldn't really eat anything (I had a little soup, some crackers, some bread and water all day) and my stomach pains were awful. I feel better today, so hopefully I'll have more to eat. But I'll start off slowly. I had some applesauce for breakfast and had no problems.
Enjoy the weekend, ladies!

Only me again. It was weigh day today. I've lost half a pound & one & a half inches. Not TOO disappointing, although, obviously, a little more weight gone would have been nice.
Have a great day, girls.
Helen.

Hi ladies. I've had a busy day today. I was supposed to go for a Pilates class this morning but it was cancelled. So, I went into the gym for an hour & a quarter. Hot & sweaty but I felt good afterwards. Then I went to father in laws to water his garden (& to pick berries because I didn't get it done yesterday). After I got home I heard a lot of thunder rolling around so I took my washing in. Then, just a little while ago, it started raining. Why couldn't it do that before I watered Lens garden?
Maureen, I'm going to steal your ice cream idea, if that's OK. It sounds yummy.
Chris, I am beginning to be a little excited, when someone asked me yesterday how long to go & I said "3weeks today".
I hope everybody is having a great day, & that it's not too hot for you all.
I'm off to work soon, so I'll catch up later, Helen.

so, I have finally found a solution to my ice cream cravings. We are lucky enough to own a really great ice cream maker. I blend one piece of fruit with a little suger and one serving of natural yogurt, then poor it in. It's a healthy meal and satifies my summer ice cream cravings...maybe I'll start loosing some weight now that I'm cutting out all the italian style ice cream.
I hope you ladies have a nice day. I have a few social engagements and I'm going to try and eat right.

Maureen, I can just picture you there. I know about the stained fingers & mouths, though. I'm sure as many go in my mouth on the way round as go in the basket. Good job they ARE low cal.

| Helen: I love picking berries. I live right by wild berry patches. I feel so quaint with a little pain and the kids all picking berries, getting stained fingers and mouths becasue we can'T wait to eat them!! I hope you get a good crop!
|
|
|
|
| You really should try & get there, Cali. Berries are a superfood. They are SO good for you, & relatively few calories for all that sweetness. I always have too many this time of year but I put the ones that go a bit soft into smoothies with FF yougurt, a little honey & skimmed milk - yummy!!!!!

Congratulations on the weight loss, lala!! I like the balloons. :-)
Oooh, helen. I wish you could send some of those strawberries over! Let us know how they taste. There's a farm about 40 minutes from me that has seasonal berry-picking...a variety of berries. I've been meaning to go one day, but haven't made it yet.

Well done on your loss, Chris.
Caligirl, I'm SO envious. Tahiti!!!! like Chris, I've seen pics. of those bungalows & they look so exotic. Ah well! Maybe one day - when we're rich.
I'm off to pick strawberries at my future father in laws house because he's away, & SOMEONE has to take on the tough role of eating them.
Catch you all later. Have a great day, Helen.

So our first dance lesson was rather difficult. It's hard trying stay in-tune with your partner and do the same things. And I evidently have a hard time letting HIM take the lead. The instructor said men usually find the first lesson was a lot easier than expected (as my fiance did) and the women are like "that was hard!" If we mess up, I'm just supposed to follow what he does.
We decided on the Best of My Love and we're dancing the MERENGUE to it! :-) Very cute and upbeat. We just learned basic steps last night and we have 3 more lessons to go thru August 9th. So we'll eventually learn the spins and other fun stuff. But right now, we have A LOT of practicing to do with what we learned last nite. We vowed to practice every night. WE NEED IT! And I'm adding it to my Fitness plan on SP too!

Hi all.
CALIGIRL, my intended doesn't dance. The times he has, he's scared small children, & reduced everyone else to hysteria.
We're not having a honeymoon - yet. We're hoping to take some time away a little later on. It may even be next year. It'll give us a chance to save up.
It's weird but I'm not getting excited about my wedding. Maybe it's because we've been together so long as a family. Jim's been there for me & the kids since they were so small, that it's like we're already married. Maybe that's it, & I'll start to feel a bit more excited nearer the time.
Tami, chin up. It'll all work out in the end. I know I've probably said it before but, patience, my dear. We're here if you need to vent.
Take care, all, Helen.

Hi everyone!
So for our first dance at the wedding, my fiance and I plan on learning some fancy moves to "wow" our guests. We're both pretty good dancers, but we want a choreographed routine, instead of the usual romantic sway. :-) We're either going to dance to Let's Stay Together by Al Green or The Best of My Love, by the Emotions. We prefer the latter because it's more upbeat and would probably look really cute. But Let's stay together is probably more manageable and sounds kind of sexy. Our first lesson is tonite, so we'll see what the instructor thinks. I'll report back on how it goes tomorrow!

Hi Tami. It's nice to hear from you whenever you get the chance.
Warm evening here, ladies, & I have to have an early night because I have to get up at 6am to take my future father in law to the airport 40 miles away. He's off to see his girlfriend in Germany for 3 weeks. He'll be back 2 days before the wedding. I hope his plane isn't delayed.
Goodnight girls, Helen.

Hi Ladies.
Hope all is well with everyone. I have been so busy lately with work and the wedding, that I rarely get on the computer anymore.
Sounds like all is well!
Nothing new on my end. No whistles like Helen and the other girls are gettng. Way to go ladies!!!
So tommorow is my weigh in. I hope I am happy with what I see.
I will chat with you all later. I just wanted to pop in with a little hello.
Bye for now,
Tami

Yea...we all like a little x-tra harmless attention! I do work with mostly men......some days it can be fun........but mostly....they make me crazy! LOL! Have a great day everybody!

Nothing wrong with a little harmless flirting. You must work in a male dominated work environment. I bet those bored, lonely truck drivers don't blow their horns at the guys. I know my man loves me the way I am, so when he tells me I'm beautiful, I know he's biased. When someone else thinks I'm worth looking at - yeah!! it makes me feel good. I'm off to work in half an hour, so have a good day, ladies, & I'll catch up later. Helen.

Yea Yea Helen........sure it was unconsciously.......your were loving all the attention! WAY TO GO HELEN!!!!!!!! WQOHOO! I have truck drivers blow their horns at me all day while I'm working on the highways.........but they are just bored lonely truck drivers so I pretty much ignore it........except when the US convoys come thru honking......then I wave and flirt as they go by!!!!! What the heck???? They are doing a great job!!!! Gotta run!

You know, I think I may have added a little twist - unconsciously, of course.

Hi Tami. Welcome back. And well done for making good choices at the wedding.
SCK. What I do at night when I can't sleep, is to have my radio on quietly & I concentrate on that. I actively listen to every word rather than just have it on in the background. I don't know if that might help.
I was at the gym again today, even though it was SO hot. I did 75 mins. of mixed cardio & strength. It was an effort to go but once I got there, I was fine.
Maureen, I love that word 'buff' that you use. That's how I want to look.
Oh, oh, oh, I've just remembered. When I went shopping earlier, a young guy, maybe early twenties, kept looking my way, & when he caught my eye, he smiled & winked. Even though I'm a soon-to-be-married lady, I couldn't help feeling flattered. So maybe I am looking buff, eh?
I'll catch up with you all later, Helen.
