| I didnt read everyones responses, so if I basically say the same thing as someone else then just ignore this. We bought our invitations at Walmart. They came with all of the rsvp cards and envelopes for the cards. We bought 2 boxes of 40 for about $15 each. All we had to do was print them up on our own which saved us alot of money.

Anyone looking for personalized help I would HIGHLY recommend jbink.com Joan is the woman who runs the website and she gets invites at a discount (encore, birchcraft, elite, checkerboard) I have recommended her to several friends for personalized attention to ordering invites. She will go over with you fonts, wording etc. She is based out of Pittsburgh, PA but since she is online she can help anyone! I was very pleased with the detail and attention she gave me and the invitations came out gorgeous! Let me know if you are just as pleased as I was

| Hey, costco has wedding invitations. I made mine and got them at target on sale for $5 for 40 invites. I've recieved so many complements. For wording help, go to sites like rexcraft who sell tons of invitations and have lots of wording examples. I think that einvite.com also has wording examples. Mine started off as "We will walk hand in hand, side by side..." it was cute and fitted us to a tea.

| Also, don't just stick to looking at wedding invitations. Mine, which are SO pretty, were in the shower (baby or bridal) book at the store. We have gotten SO many compliments on them! Check out sweetpea designs!!

Hi all! I have spent GOBS of time on my invitations - I'm a graphic designer and wanted to design my wedding invitations myself. I've done the layout, and designed our monogram, which is going to be the uniting theme of our wedding. Along the way, I've discovered some great sources for cool and unusual paper. Here are some of my favorites (sorry for any repeats): www.paper-source.com www.mountaincow.com (their Materials section has loads of links) www.paperpresentation.com www.paperandmore.com
Do a Google search for "wedding invitations" and look at the expensive places for inspiration, then re-create your favorite without blowing the budget. It's fun, and actually pretty easy once you know what you want it to look like!
Good luck!

| For those of you that aren't so crafty or don't have a good printer, Party City has some reasonable invitations. They give you 20% off the book price. Ours were $189 for 100 including the invitation, response card, reception card, tissue paper, and envelopes. This included the printing of envelopes and lined inner envelope. It is cheaper if you don't have them put addresses on the envelopes. They actually gave us about 110 of everything when it came in.

| for my invitations, i went to walmart and bought a pack of blank invitations, they were $29 for 25, they came with the invitation and response cards and envelopes for both. I found a pretty picture on the web of two rings intertwined and copied and pasted it onto the paper, then printed the words i wanted and they turned out awesome!! everyone who has recieved them loves them and no one has any idea i did them myself!! for centerpieces, i went with a beachy theme, at the buck store buy round fishlike bowls, then added in sand, then a blue tall candle in the middle surrounded by seashells. its easy and VERY cheap, couple of bucks per centerpiece is all, and you can do many variances with it, like water and a floating candle instead of sand, you can add food coloring to your water too to make it your wedding colors if you want. anyway, hope that helps!!

If you're looking for inexpensive but nice invitations that you don't have to make yourself, try Birchcraft. They have alot of options that are less expensive than the other companies.
You can search on Birchcraft to find a vendor near you, or online.

Can you remember which yahoo store you used for the vases/candles? Sounds lovely. I am getting married in a small village beside the sea, and grew up there running around on the beach so I really like your idea of the sand and shells. Thanks for your suggestions, God Bless, Suzzie

For invitations, I recommend scouring the web for paper. I am making my programs with paper from PaperSoure.com and running them through a printer, tied with the ribbon left over from the invites. If you are up for printing your own inviations, try Remote Assistance.com They even have fun outer envelopments. For my centerpeices, (we are not having actual tables, we are having a cocktail party so just cocktail tables, plus we are outdoors at the beach) so I got some glass vases and ivory candles through a yahoo.com store and I am filling the bottom of the vases with some sand and putting shells around the outside of the vases. Good luck with the wedding. It is really easy to have a budget wedding with the web!

We went to a wholesale store and got vases and artificial lillies with some filler. Worked out to about $12 CDN/centerpiece and we are placing some votive candles around the vase as well.
Any store like IKEA or a craft store, should have inexpensive vases/candleholders and you can decide what you like.

thanks for your suggestions... I'm in the UK but sure I can find similar stores here. Think making my own is the best option but I'm not very creative. Maybe something very simple? another question... what about table centres? Really can't afford to get flowers made up. We have seven tables at the reception so need something very cheap x 7 that looks pretty without costing the earth! Any ideas? Thanks, Suzzie

When I was thinking about invitations I wanted something cheap, but didn't look cheap. I went to local stationary stores and was shocked at how much they were charging for something that looked so easy to make.
I took notes and decided I would make them myself. I ordered paper and envelopes from paperandmore.com, ribbon from another online site, and talked to Kinko's. Basically I'm making my own invitations, response cards and programs for about $100 when the stationary store wanted about $500 for the invitations only.

Did you get any help with your question about invitations? My daughter is getting married September 2nd and needs to stay on a budget too! T

Some great templates are the Gartner packages of invitations. They are prepackaged invitation kits (come in counts of 50) and are coordinated (invites, program covers, place cards etc).
They have templates for wording etc. Staples, Michaels etc all sell these kits. If you look online for "wedding invitation wording" I'm sure you will find tons of templates as well.
Good luck

Hi all, looking for some ideas. I'm getting married in September on a budget, and want to make my own invitations and order of service. Does anyone have any suggestions for designs or know of a website where I can get free templates? The only theme we are having is plain, simple and cheap! Any suggestions would be most welcome God Bless, Suzzie
